The only one he got wrong was the Vampire. But it still technically right. Whats odd is that he used the first flight for some and the service entry date for others. All aircraft were airworthy by the dates listed. The reason the Vampire is technically wrong is because the date listed is 1945 while its first flight was 1943 and it entered service in 1946. Maybe you should actually get a history book.

Well, TBF, Germany's first operational jet was indeed the Me-262, the 1st british operational jet was the meteor, 1st operational american jet was the P-59 Airacomet, 1st French (french made, they had british designs before that) operational jet was the Ouragan, 1st somewhat operational soviet jets were the yak 15 and mig 9 ; I don't remember if kikka actually flew and I'm pretty sure Italy began working on jets before 1956.

This is like saying the Ford F-150 is not a automobile, it's a truck. Rocket engines are a form of jet propulsion, or reaction mass propulsion as you could also call it. Calling rockets jets/jet engines has been pretty much replaced by colloquially referring to jet turbine engines exclusively as jets. But back in the 1940s and 1950s you'd see things calling (correctly mind you) rocket engines jet engines. You see this in some US reports about the ME-163 I believe. And this is also why Jet Propulsion Laboratory which was originally an Army organization before being ceded to NASA in 1958, who specializes in rocket engines, is called such.

@@CrimeaUwu By definition, yes. All rocket engines are a type of jet engine. I'm not actually sure if all turbine engines are actually jet engines. Gas turbines on planes certainly are, but some of the other kinds of turbine engine seem a little murky. But I think I'd lean towards all turbine engines being jet engines as being technically correct as well.

Reaction mass engine is a term that encompasses both types without the confusion of the modern colloquial usage of jet engine. But there's the issue where that's basically what jet is referring to, the reaction mass.

The jet-engined R2Y was only a proposal so idk why it's in there. Warthunder doesn't feature unarmed test aircraft so the Gloster E.28/39, Caproni Campini N.1, He 178 and the Sud-Ouest Triton (1941, 1940, 1939 and 1946 first flights respectively) so the video is a bit misleading.

The HE-178 that you mentioned was itself a prototype for the testing of the engine. That would be used in the HE-280 that never saw full production. The ME-262-A1 was the first jet fighter plane to receive a full production in 1944.
