This is a recently preserved copy of the first MTV video countdown.
The original air date (from discussion in this posting) is believed to be March 9, 1984.
This particular video has the major music video clips removed in order to comply with RU-vid's DRM management policies.
I have included the MTV commercial bumpers but removed the commercials.
This video was originally recorded by me to a Betamax tape in early 1984. I recently found the tape and converted to digital avi using a PC. The original file is recorded in monaural due to the absence of home video recording equipment that could record audio in stereo in early 1984.
