Time + money + uncontrollable hobby = this layout……the man has completely lost it………did he used to be married ? has he spent all his retirement money ? O beauteous O gauge . I am speechless . Thank you for showing. .
What a truly beautiful garden layout..... To be honest with you, I'm absolutely bloomin speechless.. Fantastic, just fantastic.... Very therapeutic to watch and well done..
Reality scaled down ! Absolutely BREATHTAKING 👏👏 It doesn’t come any better than this! Could watch and admire for hours… PURE art in anyone’s eyes.. A gift for us to share .. world wide. This viewer from Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺
Four tracks always looks so good, just like the real thing used to be. A labour of love to produce a layout as good as this, and being O gauge will look as realistic as you can ever get in railway modelling. 🙂👍
Simply incredible. As others have said, you should be very proud. I for one am in awe. Not just of the layout but everything you must do to keep it running and maintained. Thank you for posting and sharing with us.
Absolutely superb, nothing I can say will really do justice to the fantastic quality of work and dedication that has clearly gone into creating this masterpiece of model engineering.
Hi, O Gauge in the garden, not something I normally watch, OO gauge being more my thing. However I have to say your railway is truely outstanding and a great effort has gone into building it all. I do like your sweeping trackwork, especially the points, very realistic indeed. I want to watch more now, so I am going to subscribe and follow the layouts progress, if that's ok. Great stuff, all the very best Dave.
On the first circuit I was going to comment about thr pristine track work, then I noticed the signals, lineside buildings, bridges, staging supports and in door station. The qualiity and detail of the work is outstanding. Congratulations and well done.
There is so much about this, where do I start ? If you have the cash and the space, it just shows what can be done but the time to build it ! Glad I dont have to clean the tracks. Best layout Ive ever seen
My outdoor layout is a little oval of Mamod track with a little Mamod locomotive and two carriages. But there again, I only own the patio outside my patio door!!
Those trestles look an amazing feat of engineering. Guessing they are constructed of galvanised steel, which on a railroad of this scale and magnitude must have been very expensive! Thank you very much for taking the time to record, edit and post. It is very appreciated.
Yes there's a huge amount of engineering gone into, with the exception of some of the rolling stock being kit built everything else is scratch built including the control system for the locos and signalling
Blimey! What struck me as an ex track engineer, was the excellent track geometry, Very impressive. I noticed a couple of spots where algae had settled in the shaded areas, so might be tempted to spray a solution of “Patio Magic” to control it? Would test a small area first though!
It tends to clear up when the weather warms up but thank you, the comments regarding the track geometry will be greatly appreciated by the gentleman that built all the track
Nice for running trains. I prefer to have a garden with a railway in it, not a garden full of railway. Nice track work and fittings though. Very well done if you like this way of operating. I suppose we are all different in what we like. A good thing really.
The owner bought the house specially for building this railway 🙂 My own railway is as you describe. They both have their pros and cons ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BnM4X7Gcr2M.htmlsi=lGPNF5W7Z-xTp89g
I would love to see what’s going on inside the shed! Looks like some serious track & point work that deserves to be seen Thanks in anticipation Ps I found one Up Main through DeepDale But a more in-depth view would be nice
What if it rains outside? Is this layout permanently setup? Does somebody quickly throw a tarpaulin over it when it rains? Have squirrels and pigeons ever climbed/landed on the tracks?
It's permanently setup outside. Some of the buildings are removeable and the signal and other structures have covers for when they're not in use. Pigeons can be an issue.
@@gardenogauge if it begins to rain unexpectedly, does that not interfere with the electrics in the track? And would be hard to wipe it all dry surely?
Take a look at my garden layout, I can walk on all of it so should be typhoon proof ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BnM4X7Gcr2M.htmlsi=4xGvTbtW0fsX2xcG
That’s one seriously impressive garden railway. What other engines have you got? Would love to see a Class 37 and a Class 101 DMU running around on this.
@@gardenogauge That’s really cool seeing the class 37, one of the most iconic workhorses of british railways running around your magnificent garden railway. The cost of something like this would be well out of my budget ( I’ll just have to be happy with TSW4 😀) but I’m glad that things like this exist so we can all enjoy looking at it. Thanks for the link it was much appreciated. 👍🏻
@@Wishful-Thinking this is my friend's garden. There's a full video of the same 37 running around my garden 🙂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BnM4X7Gcr2M.htmlsi=DTIWw2q8zPmyD4LT
@@gardenogauge That’s one cool railway layout as well. As good as your friends but in a different way. Amazing how you keep it looking so clean from the ravages of the British weather, Do you have to take the rolling stock in when it rains? What type of fuel is used out of interest? The Class 37 even has that Class 37 kind of sound. A wonderful hobby if you’ve got the time and money 👍🏻
They can't, the layout has a Laurel hedge round the front and has walls surrounding the other sides. The neighbours think it's great and have appeared briefly in some of the videos as they enjoy driving 🙂
Dumb question. I am an inside O Scale Model Railroader, but does this stay up year round in the different weather elements? If so, how does it not get trashed by the weather?
@@gardenogauge Meant that all gaming stuff and an awful lot of everything else is now 1080p+ 60fps. After a while you get used to it. I haven't watched TV in a very long time as well. So it kind of does that to you.
That's because it's all designed to be removable and at a workable height for the owner. Though you may have noticed the plants are now getting established around the frame work, come summer it will look very different 😊 You might find this is... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Si3GcX8sNkw.htmlsi=bfPTixLa45yk5f03
