@@markdove5930 reason alot people waiting it's a big hit in the wallet as there so much game runs well what they have now, and with alot AAA games lately not so great then the few that came out like warhammer and few other
@@markdove5930 considering the gaming landscape right now. We aren't getting UE6 for awhile. Majority of the player base are either still on PS4 PRO or just now upgrading to 2060s/1660s.
Like 3-5 years forward? We don't know if we are still alive later. Buy any now, play now, enjoy it now. Sell it later (5-6 months of use) while waiting for a new one is the best investment.
As great as this sounds, the Ally X has basically ruined any of these that doesn't have VRR and at least 80w battery. OLED, 144hz, and less than 2x increase of performance chip are all less integral imo in comparison. They're basically gimmicks in contrast. Especially if you'll have to keep it at a low TDP and resolution just to maintain battery life and a stable framerate. The fact they haven't stated these makes me think it isn't happening.
Where do you need high refreshrate if the devise cant run anything but simple indie games well? Oled is welcomed but it is useles to have anything above 60hz on these things. Same goes for resolution.. Useles waste of money to push hivh resolution as screen is so small there is barely any difference between 800p to 4k.
@@hornantuutti5157there are literally tens of thousands of games this thing can run at above 60fps. Its about options. Fsr up to 1080p looks better than native 720p. Some games are able to run an 70 or 80fps, which is still better. If you want a shitty device for poor people, go buy any of the dozens of other options. Just because you don’t want better specs doesn’t mean better specs are bad.
In a few years PC gaming handhelds will be great. The market really just started to gain traction as a viable gaming platform. Considering the complete stagnation on mid range gpus price to performance.. the handheld market will quickly become a value option just like laptops aren't much more expensive than PCs. It will happen before 2030.
@@GhostGamer799Dudes talking about Windows handhelds and you bring up PSP and DS. The point is these can play the thousands of games on PC not specific games made for certain hardware. Also, Gameboy and Game gear were like 15 years ahead of DS and PSP.
I so not see the value in 24 threads on a handheld. I would prefer 6 cores 12 threads and more CU. Could make a faster, more efficient gaming chip for the same or less die area. I feel that the reason is that AMD has a limited number of dies due to design costs and it would be too expensive to make a die just for handhelds that cant also be sold for laptop chips.
@@Saif0412explains why the steam deck has, essentially, an Xbox One/PS4 apu on board. It's a known quantity, and why the deck works so well. I love all these companies making new handhelds, but I'd also rather wait until we get a more unified platform.
@Saif0412 The "custom" APUs are on the way, Z2. Still, wouldn't bother though, Kraken / Krackan Point is what will bring actual improvements over 780M.
@@drewnewbyDoesn't Strix Halo have a better GPU. Thought the kraken was more of a snapdragon x elite competitor. I could be mistaken, there is a ton of AMD product releases coming out.
@Fusion05 Strix Halo is FP11, huge die, for workstation / desktop replacement laptops. It will not be in handhelds, or traditional form factor mini PCs. Also, the cost of those laptops will be well over $2K USD.
I've been interested about of the Onexplayer handheld PCs over 2 years like Onexplayer 1, Onexplayer 2, Onexplayer pro, Onexplayer Pro mini and the newiest one Onexplayer Fly defienitily Fly, but it's so AWESOME to see there's coming a new Onexplayer F1 Pro! What that F1 means? I think it's not a formula XD. Gotta say that Onexplayer looks so BEAUTIFUL can't wait i'm so EXCITEDto wait it's coming out man I LOVE handhelds! 😆❤
I really hope that OXP can expand into other IPs for special edition builds. I really want a transformers devastator build with colors reversed from the existing EVA.
I think Kraken should be better upgrade. It gets upgrade in cpu and gpu depatrement, but probably much cheaper than AI 370 HX chip. For the same silicon, they could bring Kraken like but with 16CU igpu. The most important thing would be at least quad channel memory or dual, but very high speed.. People who know their way around iGPUs, know that memory is the biggest bottleneck.
Yeah I just feel like the price of that handheld will likely be expensive because of the processor and a special panel will make the double amount of price to go high. It’s just depends if they don’t use that specific processor or something more different processor and they will be a little cheaper, but somehow they always make it a little bit more fancy handheld.
Bummed with the exclusion of Oculink. I could see replacing my mITX build with a handheld + eGPU setup, but without Oculink it just doesn't make sense for 4K gaming. Maybe Thunderbolt 5 will yield enough bandwidth down the line for a 4090 (or 5090).
@@Contra.1776to me not really. I’ve stated it often, Oculink isn’t good for devices like these. The idea is precisely to have a no compromise experience that allows you to switch as seemless as possible between docked and handheld. Oculink doesn’t allow this whatsoever, you have to be very careful with how you connect it, because you can easily crash your handheld and worst case brick it. Usb/Thunderbolt is waaaaay more flexible and should be basically the only norm on these devices, their only problem being the bandwidth limitation of USB 4. Hopefully Thunderbolt 5 will be good enough for a while.
At north of $1500, the first, and hopefully only. Practically no performance gain over 780M at 20-30 W, and so much CPU wattage for a handheld. Wait for Kraken / Krackan Point...
David said the Z2 extreme chip will be announced that the day on January 2025 even that’s what I’m gonna be excited for that that processor will be better than the other processor to be more better performance. It’s just depends it may save power but it may give you enough performance.
Unless Microsoft gives Windows a major facelift to make it touch-friendly, significantly reduces the bloat, and addresses the outdated UI inconsistencies, I’ll gladly pass.
Support comes a long way with alot handhelds as they are nice, but the long run if something break how is support? or can anyone order the parts if just a fan blown out or a joystick breaks after warranty or 3 to 5 years from now.
@@Nickbaldeagle02 that it is, at $300 that it was during the summer sale, i feel like its worth it.. just would like to see other options at the 'bottom', (still absurdly priced for toys) , where are the rock bottom priced 6800u clearances?
And this will also be over 1000$ I do not know why manufacturers need to compete with power so much when SteamDeck smokes them with affordability. There is a market for making 200$ to 400$ handhelds that don't need to play the latest and greatest AAA games. I just want them to sell a N100 or low end AMD chip that plays 360 era games with good controls and touch screen, preloaded with Bazzite. I just want System Shock 2 on the go man! Steam Deck isn't everywhere, take that advantage!
You do know that Steam not only selling Steamdeck right? They can do that (lower price) because most of their profits is from selling games, skins, add-ons and so on.
I still don't see a point in getting these new handhelds if they're not going to give at least 60fps in games at 1080p low. Like what's the point of even adding these 144hz screens if the device can't even get 60fps without FG.
This is a company from China & that is the only market that would ever make something like this, b/c, make no mistake, this is a $1,000+ device & in North America they are just not gonna commission handheld pcs at this price point. But in china it’s a very normal deal . You will have to import it, it will be expensive, supply likely can’t meet demand & you won’t likely get your hands on this even if you are willing to pay for it.
I'm just overall always disappointed with these handhelds. The actual objective is to use them on the go, but they never really last battery wise, and every feature added just requires more power. My modded PSP (added an aftermarket battery) last longer than these new consoles. My modded POWKIDDYX55 is my most used handheld, why? Because the battery last ages, I can pick it up randomly from my backpack and kill some time when I need it without packing a charger. I believe that if you need to charge these devices more than a single time per week either you are using it too much or the battery sucks. If you can't play for 8+ hours it makes no sense to carry it. This device shown in the video will HARDLY do 2 hours.
The 370 is nice but a current gen chip with VRR will be just as smooth game play wise. I have my doubts this is VRR but I would loved to be proven wrong.
everything that is not Valve makes it hard for me to decide for because their support in Hardware & Software is unbeaten. When it comes to issues the customers with Lenovo and Asus are far away from happy and i´m afraid Onex won´t do better. This Onex Player products have been very expensive in the past and i guess the won´t get cheaper with this hot piece of hardware. I was interessted to see the new Claw 8+ Ai in early 2025 and guess that might bring some competition into the market. With MSI i have a brand i can buy here at the most retailers and have less issue with service things than putting the Onex Device on a boat to china.
Just got a new PC, the economy is dirt, and these handhelds don’t tend to be very functional without a dock, sadly. The specs look good, and that red/yellow scheme looks awesome, but it’s just not a good time for me and many other people I think to be buying something like this. Hope things look up for everybody soon; I’d love to be more interested in this or upcoming Z2 handhelds or Steam Deck 2 rumours, but I don’t think I’ll even be able to afford what Nintendo’s cooking up, even if I ever wanted to buy anything from that company again.
The onexfly plastic material kind of sucks. Its like the lenovo thinkpads with that skin that absorbs all your oils with added cheap plastic feeling covers for the rgb wording. They should have just kept the body format for the onexplayer mini. Also a 144hz screen is dumb without freesync. A 120hz is superior as you can cap frame rates at 120, 60, 40, and 30 and still get a smooth experience as all are dividable into 120.
I’m not paying no more then $700 bucks for any handheld I already have the rog z1 I’m just waiting for a price drop on the ROGX to upgrade because of the battery 🔋 life and most people are skipping the rog x if they already have a oled steam deck are rog z1 extreme in order to get the next generation of either a steam deck 2 are legion light are rog ally 2 this product seems like a reach but not a good price starting point honestly
One X and whoever sister company has such bad quality I bought an aokzoe and a one x player and the software was so inconsistent kept crashing it felt cheap in the hands I wanted to like it but I'll stick to my steam deck or maybe an rog ally that's my opinion I wish they made products I liked because they are really moving in the space in a good direction on paper
Absolute garbage i bought the collector edition and it wouldn’t work at all wouldn’t give me my 1700 back or fix it and there software is garbage!!!! Horrible tech support and don’t stand by their warranty!!!!!!
