I really miss the old Roothy video's doing this stuff regularly! Shauno & Graham with chopped 200's & Y61's are not ticking my boxes! it's not about the money spent. Only young chumps get sucked in by the 4wd 247 these days.
Wow 4WD action videos certainly changed over the years. Not necessarily for the better. It went from this to let’s go out & see how much we can smash up ya 4WD😱. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
Back when you just did things on a budget. Now....... you need that $100k 4x4 and $50k worth of accessories just to go fishing for the weekend........ Where did it all go so wrong.
I'm loving the original old Milo and running cheese cutters too.... nice simple video without all the advertising or bashing the crap out of heavily modified 4x4s loaded with equipment that the average bloke wanting to take the family bush can't afford
Hey Roothy, great work you've done over the years mate. I've always appreciated your anti-bureaucratic sentiment when it comes to the psychopaths in suits locking up our tracks. Now look where we are hey? They're locking up every aspect of our lives and the Australian way of life is almost dead. I urge all freedom loving Aussie men to stand up and fight this tyrannical take over our beautiful country.
Totally agree mate! I'm so sick of being "welcomed to country" when it's already my country, our country, and land that we can no longer access without a permit or permission from a certain demographic. It's got to stop...
56:05 - protect the breeding areas, and sensitive areas. Protection of environment is important, so is allowing access for people to explore, using various methods e.g walk or 4wd. Particularly if the government spent adequate budget on land and water management, we could rotate and restore popular accessed areas. I recall spending a week on Mt bogong one winter. At one of the huts there were a few of us enjoying some whisky and company. One lady was very passionate about conserving the environment, and kudos to her. But she honestly thought it would be best to close off ALL beach driving access to 4wds in the entire country. 34,000km of coastline, and she wants it all closed. As you mention, wind and tides change the landscape faster than a set of tyres. You've been fighting the unlock Australia battle for a while now roothy, thanks so much. It can be maddening how there is so much polarisation in regards to people's views on accessing Australia. A good example is the wild horses in Kosciuszko. Can't even find a middle ground; the environment there is under extreme pressure
When I did a 12 month subscription to 4WD Monthly back in the early 2000’s they sent me a Kangaroo Jack in the mail. The sub cost was about $130 for 12 issues. That was a great promo- I still use the jack. Thanks
I'm 27 and I grew up watching these videos with my dad who loved 4x4ing. In the last few years my passion for 4x4ing has sparked especially after having a few kids of my own and I plan to explore much of what our great country has to offer. I really want my kids to experience what I did and more!
Great to see you blowing the whistle on locked up areas right from your first video John! I’m not sure how successful the Unlock Australia campaign really was, but it was necessary to speak up. Thanks for all your hard work over the years mate 😉👍🏼
Thanks Paul, I never stopped in my own right because it really, personally upsets me. However the city based greens wield a big stick and now they've involved Parks and the Indigenous groups and unless a lot of people make a stand, we're locked out of our own country!!!
Epic camp kitchen setup. Simple, cheap, effective and bush proof. Just how it should be. People have gone mad these days with insane canopies. I prefer the rugged yet still comfortable approach. Each to their own though. Lightweight is king
Ahh the good old days, loved watching this Roothy can’t believe its taken me this long to find your channel. Really enjoyed watching it even Pat wasn’t bad. Jokes 😂
Once borrowed a very old book written by the explorer Sturt, in it was hand written notations by Sturt in the margins, and also several notepapers by him tucked between the pages.
Loving these older videos Roothy. Four Wheeling the way it should be not all that "Push it till you break it" crap we see so much of today. As for your little rant about being locked out or restricted from areas mate I agree it bites but sadly the way things are today there are a hell of a lot of 4wders that couldn't care less about the damage they do to the tracks and the environment.
That's all pretty irrelevant now as the psychopaths in suits clearly want complete control of our lives.. Very soon we won't be able to leave our homes (let alone head bush) unless we're up to date with vaccinations and booster shots aswell as any other tyrannical conditions they put on maintaining our "good citizen" passport. Wake up and stand up Aussie men or lose your way of life forever.
Wow how young you guys look back then.Great video boys ,love the bush welding and repairs + the driving tips.Question do you catch up with old mate Pat from time to time? Keep the videos coming Thanks 🇦🇺👍
ive come back here for 1 last look at where it began and was good. The new media chopping 200/300 series/y62, with purpose built tray and canopies.... it has gone from 4wding for the people, to going offroad for the rich . Some real good content when it was magazines and DVD's inside but now.... im going to stop watching these shows, unsubscribing to the channels and going to make my own way. Research the old fashion way with maps and yes, online information..... but no longer watch what is basically advertising products in a getaway show.
