Loved the market. Like many places around the Mediterranean (in this case the Adriatic sea), the fish is from the day it was caught. Very fresh.

Where are the woman that buy the items and cook them?

This fish market seems to be male only. The women, I am sure, are at home waiting to cook things up. They are also at all the other markets, buying everything. I have a feeling that this market though, since it was by the port and run by the fishermen themselves, was traditionally thought too dangerous or not appropriate for a lady to frequent. Obviously it's not that anymore, but the traditions live on.
