The Fishing Channel: Mark Pollard Bream on the River Yare, Norfolk 

I watched this video from Hungary and my eyes are in tears. I wish we could catch such a beautiful fish from the Hungarian rivers.

good video, great fishing, went down to my local stretch of the Yare today near Norwich, and had a 4lb bream and plenty of skimmers and good roach, a very good day out

Never heard of a feeder before here in Australia, but I'll definately look into it. I can't do any worse than I normally do. hahaha.

From the latches I'd say the box he keeps his feeders in is a Plano ProLatch box but couldn't tell you the model number.

Now now kids. Mark is a very good angler, And I must point out that the yare is pronounce yar, as in Yarmouth. Gt Yarmouth is the mouth of the river yar. So let's just remember it's not the river yea (yare) it is the yar. Tight lines .

some hooks are a lot smaller than you'd expect for their size. I have seen some size 16s that looks like another company's size 20's

I wonder if that technique would work over here in the U.S. for catfish.

can i ask why you use the completely un-needed oversize pole? or does it make it more fun? i fish as much as i can, around 3-4 times a week, and i live in the U.S. I'm 14 and i was just wondering. i do alot of river fishing for channel cat, could you use this feeder method for that?

Great simple video! Were you using braid? it looked like a hi-tec Mono mainline. Size 12 with double maggot? lol i'd have been on an 18 but I suppose if you were expecting a few proper 3-4lb'ers a size 12 is the way forward.

hmm I wonder maybe some bloody dough in the feeder and a shrimp on the hook??? i'll have to try.

Yea never seen anyone fish with a "feeder" does it just chum the area to attract more fish? From the states.

@combatpanda101 That is a large fish. I'm not familiar with people "starting" fishing, everyone I know that fishes was raised fishing :)

does this mean that he is fishing off the bottom(because of the heavy feeder?) and would this be suitable to fish for carp?

How deep is it out there? What are the chances of catching on a waggler or a slider? Sure the feeder is effective but catching on a float has GOT to be twice the fun?

@joshtate555 Have you ever fished the stretch at Bramerton downstream from "The woods end" pub (the free bit!) If so..any good? I just started fishing again after 27yrs and I'm trying to find some good free stretches of river to fish. Commercial fisheries are pretty good, but at £7 - 10 a go, it soon mounts up. Cheers

@FRFLparkour If the feeder's not too heavy, the cast not too long, and the bottom not snaggy then 4lb...otherwise 6lb is what I'd use.

What size rod? What size line? Not a lot of info ?.????

shad are fish, not rodents, similar to the herring.

those big ass rods make fishing so boring i fish for 5 pounders to 10 pounders with a light to medium light rod makes every fish seem like your catching a 50 pounder and fishing on light tackle is so much more fun
