Low tide, broad daylight, flat sea, sun shining…and the bugger is still pulling out bass like he’s picking bogies out his nose.

Ian, Ray Larkin ex 3 Para here, glad your still going mate. I will never forget staying for a week with you many years ago, so much information given by you. I bet I am still the only one who caught a BAT that night, do you still remember?. Ray

My tight lines are always snags. When I'm lucky it's a pollack that made it to safety in the rocks.

Does anyone where about in Cornwall he was? I’ve got a couple of holidays in and around New Polzeath which seems to better known for surfing than fishing or am I wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Pembrokeshire and I fish regularly at holgan farm. I started fishing 10 years ago, 19 years old turned up at the fishery with my mate, a rod and reel and no clue what to do. Ian spent half the day sat beside me, showing me how to tie knots, how to set up terminal tackle, how to fish the bottom, the top, fishing using the dibber and other floats and I have never looked back since. There is a few fisheries around Pembrokeshire but holgan is THE best fishery in West Wales. 10 years on into fishing I now compete in matches. This man is a true legend, and for someone who didn't even no who be was, I feel quite embarrassed at that lol.

Now now kids. Mark is a very good angler, And I must point out that the yare is pronounce yar, as in Yarmouth. Gt Yarmouth is the mouth of the river yar. So let's just remember it's not the river yea (yare) it is the yar. Tight lines .
