This is an excellent and clear overview of critical issues in building and developing the basics for high performing teams. When these leadership issues are discounted, teams tend to under perform and people wonder why?!

This is deep stuff, thank you. I needed this as I was trying to see how to promote team spirit in my business. Mine is Leadership in a voluntary army, it's not the typical traditional business so it's not as easy as where you hire and fire someone. These tips are eye opening.

Look up Lencioni: 5 dysfunction of a team. Much more useful as it tells you also how and not just what.

I’ve been climbing the ‘Forming’ stage for so long, ever since I left corporate world. ‘Be an entrepreneur’ I heard. ‘Start a startup you’re in Silicon Valley’ I was told. The 6 roles of a team are from different walks of life. Finding each of them is a challenge in itself. 1. Visionary 2. Hustler 3. Magician 4. Designer 5. Hacker 6. Enabler #SantaCruzGlampingExperience

what kind of leadership style that a leader should apply in a norming stage wherein employees tend to resist to change their working patern, value to adapt to group’s?

Hi Bennet, great question! Be sure to ask for each individuals input and feedback. If the team member feels as though they have contributed to the change, they are more likely to buy in to the change. If the individuals' personal values align to the teams' values, they are far more likely to be engaged. A democratic leadership style, where you empower the individual team members, may help you embed the change.
