The spectacular opening of the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 included the 26 finalists, dancers and Augmented reality. The Netherlands is famous for its succesful DJs and the Eurovisionn Song Contest loves to give an international stage to young artists. Upcoming DJ talent Pieter Gabriel delivered a modernnn remix of a famous Dutch music track with a special appearance of the Eurovision 2021 hosts.

@@lucas_vermeire That's weird. Not to say anything bad about the organizers, but I just rewatched flag parades to compare and 2016 stood out to me as a bad one because that fashion show distracted from the entering contestants for me. In the Netherlands, they came in like the gladiators they are.

I must admit a high HI-TECH level of Eurovision in Netherlands. The scene is like a space craft. Unbelieveable...I don't remember nothing like this for last decade. And I love this state because of techno, trans, rave, club and progressive music in which Netherlands are music-maker of Europe...❤🇺🇦

@@rachelladiary Personally I thought there was too much going on in 2019 show (the unnecessarily long show, that out of tune/autotuned Madonna interval act no one asked for), even though they still did a good job imo. I love this year's show because it's a little more subdued and understated but still really effective

In terms of global RU-vid viewership, 2022 outnumbered 2021. The best show used to be determined by its viewing figures. For 13 months, 2021 saw 16,549,410 views, while 2022 saw 16,564,088 views in 5 weeks. Why is this so? According to them, 2021 was superior to 2022. No comments because the figures said it so.

Sadly, as an Italian, they're more likely to be thinking "We're the best, we'll certainly do better", because unfortunately that's how it works and I really fear this kind of mindset. I really hope they will take it seriously and do something worth of the honour we're getting!

Eurovision Song Contest 2021 was simply out of this world. Everything about the production was on another level entirely. Vastly superior to the 2022 edition. The songs in 2021 were top quality. Best Eurovision by a mile. Hopefully the UK can pull off something as spectular in 2023.

Netherlands set a new standard for the ESC. Atmosphere and Tech was amazing, even though it was still during the pandamic, without live Audience and with Iceland participating without even beeing there. Amazing Job.

The organizers aimed to finish the show in under 4hrs. Tel Aviv 2019 lasted 4hrs 10 mins. That's why some segments are quite short, but pretty efficient.

@@occono3543 actually a lot of people find him hilarious, there are even compilations of his funniest Eurovision moments that people have made, personally for me he’s the perfect host for it, especially when we aren’t doing too well his dry and sarcastic remarks never fail to make me laugh :) (that’s just my opinion though, feel free to have your own, but quite a lot of people def do find him amusing)

Absolutely stunning! And yes the openings in other countries were great as well. Personally i dont need to compare. I just want to see an opening that gets me into the right eurovision mood and i definately got a “yeaaah its that time again” feeling from this opening. So props for this years opening...lookedd and sounded great...gave a perfect vibe for me!
