A magnificent film which has completely unfairly been compared to Spinal Tap far too many times. Still Crazy is a totally different animal, full of heart and soul. First and foremost its a drama. I first watched it when it came out and my wife and I have seen it so many times, we know it all word for word. It never fails to make us roar and shed a little tear, here and them. Just marvellous.
I haven't seen Still Crazy for twenty years and always loved it but couldn't find it. No one except my daughter, who watched it with me many times when she was just a child, had ever even heard of it but I really remember feeling that this was an amazing film that left me smiling and crying at the same time. After reading these comments I realize I'm not the only one that was sincerely moved by this film and one of Mick Jones best compositions THE FLAME STILL BURNS!!
It is also the reason why I handed in my first short story for an anthology at the age of 45. After several successes as a writer of non-fiction, writing AND publishing fiction was my personal unfinished goal.
first time i watched this movie in 99 and now i watched it again after years, and its still touches my heart this song is one of the best things i have ever heard
Especially the part in the movie when Brian joins them on stage for this song,. As a former "band mascot" that part of the movie is what touches me ., to love a bands music so fkn much......what I wouldn't give to be 15 again!
been watching still crazy again the last couple of days, its one of those that once i start watching i'll probably watch it every night for a week. definitely in my top ten. And, not to get morbid, but i was always going to have whole of the moon by the waterboys played at my funeral whenever that will be, but i think i might change it to this, even though at that point my flame obviously wont still be burning lol.
great sad song, a rock classic from the band in movie still crazy, the actors in this band was great, jimmy nail wow, just sings this great. and the flame still burns in my soul and heart.everyone should hear this song please everybody, listen and be amazed.
This is one of my faverite movies of all time. I play it often and re live the time over and over. I can relate to alot of the fictional bands mishaps. I witnessed similar band mishaps in Nova Scotia Canada years ago in the late 60's and early 70's If they had been a real band I know that they would have made it really big. I am a big fan of Bruce Robinson and this clip and song really does make you cry if you can relate to it and him, He reminds me alot of a lost love
I saw this movie some years ago in '02, I believe. The moment that I heard the intro to this song, I knew it would be special. It still is my favourite.
I love this movie and song. Songs/Movies of hope and another chance are very few and needed in this world. Especially for someone like myself, an old rocker that gave it all and never saw the big stage or sold many records. This version is fantastic. Love the jam at the end. And I love all the charachters. So beliveable.I wrote my own screenplay based on my band in the 90's, we toured the U.S. and Canada. It's called "Diary Of A Rock Band".This movie inspired me to do so.
Funny thing is, there was never a Wisbech Rock Festival, till years after this great movie, but now it's an annual event!! Still no appearance by the band everyone wants to see though!!
Questo film e questa colonna sonora mi hanno toccato come pochi. Ogni volta che lo riguardo è una forte emozione che porta con sé tanti ricordi. Uno dei miei preferiti in assoluto. ❤️
Great film, I spent the last week figuring out the finger picking version Brian plays for Karen when he gives her the penny/pick she wears as a necklace. What a beautiful song, thank you Foreigner for writing this masterpiece.
I played this song in three pce No Hurry's when we played down in Wagga and Mildura, most of the crowd were blown away, they knew it, surprised the fuck out of us.
I live a life that's surreal Where all that I feel I am learning Oh life, has been turned on the lathe Reshaped with a flame that's still burning And in time, it's all a sweet mystery When you shake the trees of temptation Yeah and I, I know the fear and the cost Of a paradise lost in frustration And the flame still burns It's there in my soul for that unfinished goal And the flame still burns From a glimmer back then It lights up again in my life In my life, yeah I, I want my thoughts to be heard The unspoken words of my wisdom Today, as the light starts to flow Tomorrow who knows who will listen But my life has no language in love No word from above is appearing Oh the time, in time there's a fire that's stoked With a reason of hope and believing And the flame still burns It's there in my soul 🔥
