With this episode, The Flash is now the longest running Arrowverse show, beating Arrow by one episode. The Flash has 171 episodes and Arrow had 170 episodes.

All and all, I would say that Season 8 was an overall improvement over Season 7. The arcs this were overall interesting, Barry was a competent and intelligent leader, and they handled the Forces stuff WAY better. I’m interested to see what happens in Season 9.

I really hope they bring Matt back for thawnes origins in season 9. Eric Wallace said if he were to get a season 9 he wanted to do his origins. I feel it’s disrespectful to the actor and character to go 9 seasons without seeing his origins. You gotta bring the thawne/Barry rivalry full circle.

Why did they have to have this episode so close to The Boys episode Herogasm? That attack Thawne was pulling out just had me thinking of Love Sausage

The ribbed look on Thawne's new suit kind of reminds of a Wally West's version of the Reverse Flash. Daniel West, I think his name was. He had like a monstrous type of suit with that sort of ribbed look. Though he had a lot more red/orange across the centre of his body. Also, I kinda wish they did the motion blur on Tom's face. His soft, round face kinda makes the monstrous suit look goofy

I really didn't like Damien in season 4 of Arrow, but since season 2 of Legends of tomorrow, since he's more comedic, more human, I love him and he's one of my favorite characters in Arrowverse

I have to admit I was hoping this would end with Matt’s Thawne was revived at the end. There was a lot of story potential with this character. Thawne regaining his memories alone could have made a good story. Barry and the audience could worry if that Thawne’s memories came back if he will stay good or relapse back into old habits. We could see Thawne struggling to overcome his hatred of Barry and live this new life he made for himself or to achieve the need for glory that he always wanted. There was a real missed opportunity in getting rid of original Thawne so quickly.

Jordan Fisher is a delight and I hope we get some Bart and Nora next season. I will watch next season for completeness sake but it definitely drags at times.

It's nice to see some people haven't given up on the show

The reaction and discussion of this episode was on another level, I know the writing of this show doesn't make sense anymore but the absolute hype that it creates for a short second, I love seeing on people's faces. I am totally onboard for Eric and Aaron on the flash writing team for the final season, I can imagine that would be a one hell of an ending to this show.

I don't know what that suit was Thawne was rockin' but it wasn't it. I see what they were trying to do there with him being Negative Reverse-Flash like the ultimate evil speedster....it just didn't do well. But Barr and Thawne both using the forces to be each other's match was dope...they were literally destroying the city creating Armageddon. Barry tapping into the Still Force resetting the timeline restoring order was awesome. The cliffhangers....Caitlin in the CRC obviously didn't go well also, plus there's so many variations of Killer Frost in the comics she could be anyone. The blue crystal in the lab in 2049 could be hinting at Cobalt Blue but it could also be hinting at Paradox who was actually a scientist named Chris before he transformed he had the power to see the multiverse.

I feel like they forgot that since learning how to do it during Armageddon, Barry has been able to throw Lightning without running in a circle. We wouldn’t have gotten ride the lightning without it 😂

Question: So Dion and the other forces, let's just use Dion, is he the still force itself...but then where is the still force Avatar? Or is he the still force Avatar...but then where is the still force itself ( like speed force Nora and Barry as the Avatar ) or is he both the force and the avatar?

Speaking of Cecile's powers: I forgot, when did her power switch from mind reading to emotion detection? She could read minds in seasons 4 and 5, and I have 0 memory of them suddenly saying her powers switched.

I love how often you guys have the same thought processes as me 😂 I had that whole conversation about the seance in my head: "It's like a seance. For psychics. A psychic seance! Wait, every seance is with psychics." And then the whole Frost thing, I was also like, "Oh, I completely forgot about this... wait, what does he mean 'who are you'? Does she not look like Danielle Panabaker anymore? WHAT'S HAPPENING?!"

I totally get what Eric means. There's a difference between an explanation and just having characters say "This is why this happened". Effectively having the characters _tell us_ things make sense doesn't automatically make it so - it also has to _actually make sense_. Still, some entertaining moments and narrative pyrotechnics in amongst all the wtf-uckery. If S9 is as full of incident as this finale two-parter then it at least won't be dull.

I don't usually comment on the Flash stuff. No particular reason, I just don't. I'm watching though! First, I'm with The Flash until the end. Giving respect to the Arrowverse, Grant, and The Flash being the last man standing. I haven't really enjoyed The Flash as much these last few years, but I've enjoyed all of the shows, for the most part, over the years. They get me until the doors close. This episode had me a little vexed. I expected the Time Stone to come into play, but I thought that Joe was going to be the one using it. Didn't expect it to be a housing unit like that. That diminishes Damien's whole point of giving it to Joe, IMO. Didn't like it. Loved that Iris wasn't dead, but they really need to use something more than their love for each other, and a spark, to get things done. It's overused to me. Makes me roll my eyes when they use it. We know that their love and connection to each other is strong, the writers don't have to keep making them say crap to prove it. It's proven! I'm tired of Tom's Reverse Flash. It's one note to me. It's not as menacing as it used to me. He sounds like a cartoon villian, not the new kind either, the 80s version. Loved Matt when we had him, wish he could've come back in the end. And, I'm with Eric, they should've killed Reverse Flash a long time ago. How many people does he need to kill? In fact, while Barry was sitting pretty, he was continuously killing people. I was outdone! I'm not as put off by the Cecille stuff as the rest of you. I like her power. This last power up especially. Too bad that's gone now. But she had powers before the power up, so her having telekinesis isn't strange to me. The power is in her, it's just manifesting in a new way now, right? The 2049 crew was underused here. They could've saved that money. I love those guys, but they didn't really have them do anything. Disappointing. Tania's story was unnecessary too. I want this last season to pull from Season 1. And I need it to wrap up the whole Arrowverse nicely, with a bow. My favorite Arrowverse show was Arrow. When he left, I dreaded the crossovers. Oliver was always my favorite thing about them. But I think that Barry can put a cap on things, if they give us S1 Barry.

Imma be real... thawn coming back again really does not shock me because he's the Flashs main rival so it makes sense... I'll admit he was used way to darn much but honestly if Colbolt blue joins I'm down for that like I've never seen him in Any media and for the actor of Eddie to come back and bortray him will br the best ever... but for an over all season finale I hope season 9 answers what we saw with Katlyn trying to bring frost back and if colbolt blue does come and overall I actually liked the finale

My hope for the next season is that the show gets actual writers.

Thawne did the lightning thing in season 5 when he said "time to repent" when he escaped in the future with the reverse time hack for the dagger

I must say the last two or three episodes have been amazing! I've been happily surprised. It's like they had all new writers and producers the last few episodes

I'm still not over how the last episode gave us the *perfect* Savitar setup, and this episode didn't capitalize on it at all because that would've required effort and people that give a shit about this show.

I guess these last 1 or 2 seasons actually felt like straight from a comic. I mean: So many things are happening at once and you're not even sure what's happening lol. in this season alone we first had Armageddon, then Deathstorm then negative forces and Reverse-Flash again.

I think the over the top and what the hell version of this show is exactly what we should’ve had after season 3. Once Barry returns from being trapped in the speed force, it’s just all out fun and chaos until the end, which would ideally be Barry turning into the lightning that struck him, all while keeping the original charm The Flash TV show had. But we can’t have nice things.

tangent: every time I get frustrated w the Flash I remind myself that Grant Gustin looks like a dear ex of mine, whom I still care for as a human being. it reduces the noise focusing on his endearments. but yeah... I just pretend I'm high...

I hate so fucking much that the writers keep going with the if you kill you’re just as bad. It just doesn’t work for Barry Allen. It works for characters like punisher or Batman because they’re mentally I’ll suppressed loners who are alone and always will be. While yes Barry’s mother and father were killed he was not only adopted by an amazing dad, married his best friend, his dad didn’t die up until a couple years ago, and has a whole ass cavalry of friends right next to him. If Barry killed sure he’d be messed up for a bit but he wouldn’t turn out like Batman if he killed. Also can we mention that he’s already killed before????? Atom smasher anyone?????

Barry should've let Thawne die when the timeline caught up to him. I'm getting real sick of the whole " You don't kill because you go bad" BS. How many times did Barry let Thawne go and it always bit him in the ass?? Cecil had no right to dictate how Barry felt. And I'm getting fed up with how Cecil just keeps getting new powers like why is the show trying to make her seem important even though she's not??

I think I'm happy saying this show ended with season one.

Zoom from the Earth 2? was like the "Reverse Flash" on that Earth and that version became Black Flash and die. Theory: Our prime Hunter become Zoom with the Negative Speedforce. Also in the Still Force with an Article title with Zoom and Godspeed. I would love to see Cobalt Blue in season 9.

I hope that we get to see thawne and barry meeting for the first time even if it's a different timeline.

The bucket to art explanation is PERFECT! It should have never worked and still kinda doesn't if you look closely. But in the end it is all wrapped up and hopefully they can come in with a great final story for next season. They have a fairly clean slate now to go out on a high note in season 9. But this upcoming season definitely needs to be the last one. The show has reached its limit and you can tell the actors themselves agree.
