Ethan Van Sciver was DC's top artist who started his own RU-vid channel that eventually enabled him to launch his own comic. The crabs trying to put him back in the bucket are a bunch of youtubers who got big reading other people's news articles and now they see comics as a lucrative grift they can get a piece of.
Wizard gave EVS clout. When Wizard disappeared, so did EVS. EVS was not DC's top talent at all. Far from it. He never sold millions of copies while at DC.
These niggahs will never understad two of the biggest events in DC history and what they did. The rebireth events of Green Lantern and Flash and the Darkest Night or whatever it was called when the black rings came. Basically revolutionizing both character concept and their entire universes almost all on his own. Not just on sales, but the fact that the only reason the Flash and Green Lantern and DC as a whole were able to continue to push so hard was because of that revolutionization of the characters. Theyve tried to replicated it without success and things like their movies and tv shows would be nothing without the Rebirths. Hell, aside from Batman and Superman (which transends DC in exteriror projects if we are being honest), DC would have gotten swalled up by the DIsney maw of devouring.
