The crazies thing about the Flesh Tearers is that they somehow aren't even the most insane Blood Angels successor That being the Knights of Blood, who are so insane even Gabriel Seth looked at that and was like "what the hell is wrong with you"
I really liked the Gabriel and Dante interactions in the book covering the 'Nid invasion of Baal, he was soooo pissed off all the time and with Dante being chill for like 95% of the time it was neat contrast with them being buddies
You should have mentioned Nassir Amit being a regular "guest" in the gladiatorial arenas of the World Eaters pre heresy. He was a respected opponent among them, which is already saying a lot. It is those fighting pits that earned him the nickname "Flesh Tearer" in the first place.
Virgin Blood Angel: “boo hoo, the Black rage and red thirst are so sad, we must resist them!” Chad Flesh Tearer: “Black rage and red thirst??? LET’S FUCKIN WEAPONIZE IT!!!”
Ah, my Chapter. Feels good, man. There are a lot of jokes about how Fleash Tearers are just loyalist Khorne worshippers, but they really are a tragic chapter. They are (or were) slowly dying off from the Black Rage, even with Seth doing everything he can to save them and repair their image. Also the fact both Amit and Seth aren't afraid to tell a Primarch to shove it to their face just makes me love them more.
@@mstein7387honestly one of the best ones out there. get it. "Weapons? I did not bring weapons. I brought monsters." *drop pods full of death company rain from the sky*
You know I find it sad and slightly infuriating that almost all of Blood Angel's successors besides the Lamenters are just terrible in regards to treating allies and civilians. Sanguinius would be so disappointed in what became of his sons that if he ever returned (fingers crossed) he would have to restructure and have a big ass sit down with all his lineage to prevent them from regressing to the Revenant Legion.
@@tarektechmarine8209of all the primarchs, sanguinius has the most going for his return, and his soul is still out there refusing to let dante just be dead.
This is the first time I’ve heard something blood angels related outside of the death company storyline with Tycho I really dig. I’m gonna have to read some books.
He most definitely didn’t. Astorath is a beast and was winning the fight, had Seth to rights and Seth jumped off this ledge thing and took Astorath with him and landed on him, but admitted he could never beat Astorath. He did say if Astorath ever killed any more of his death company he would come back with his entire squadron and Kill Astorath which is super heretical, but 🤷♂️ Even after this Astorath defended him and over ruled the council voting to disband the Flesh Tearers
@@Syst3m04 I think Astorath and Gabriel had a much better understanding of each-other after that “debate.” Gabriel was willing to do anything for his battle brothers under his command and that proved it.
Arthur has this insane talent of making me like chapters I've either never liked or actively disliked. It's honestly incredible how he does it. Guess I'm building a Flesh Tearers kill team now...
In truth I've always kinda liked the Blood Angels successors more than the originals. They all just have some form or version of tarnished nobility matched with grim darkness, just good enough to avoid being stupid. Like successors who once every few years when one of them died, need to choose to sacrifice themselves to a greater daemon just like their very first chapter master, in order to stave off their curse. But should they fail, then they will all fall to chaos.
I do recall a short story, the life of a Flesh Tearer marine and his gradual metamorphosis from a regular marine, to a Dead Company one, to a Dead Company dread and his final battle taking out Carinfex 1 on 1. Pretty epic!
wow, just yesterday i was rewatching your blood angels episode just cause of that "you guys are blood angels did you know that?". man that was funny, you cant even imagine how much i gigled internally. Flesh tearers are really cool, i plan play my homebrew loyalist world eaters as flesh tearers, btw Kharn video when?
I always kind of thought of the camera thing with Nasir to mean he did die, but he is so frothing at the mouth angry that khorne went and got him out of some measure of respect.
I have no idea how we have 30k model for Zephon and not Nassir given the FT’s are a far more popular sub chapter than the Charnel Guard (not that I’m complaining tho Zephon is pretty badass and maybe even worthy of his own video)
The only person the Flesh Tearers met that was angrier than them was that one Lunar Wolf in stasis from before the heresy, after being sat down and told the whole lore of the setting up until 40k.
Gabriel Seth didn't had a debate with Dante about the pointlessness of curing the red thirst and black rage? About they cannot cure what isn't a flaw is part of the Emperor's own design instead and the very core of their identity.
If we are going through brutality. The next chapter should be the red talons (iron hand successor). The inquisitions go to chapter for chaos space marine warbands who went a bit to far then usual.
I remember when I first started the hobby, I wanted to do Flesh Tearers but a friend pointed out how I have a fixation on red armies. Got a Word Bearers army and a custom red Drukhari army. Spiced up the colors with some Sallies.
One of my favourite things about the flesh tearers is that they made the orks run away in terror from the level of violence the tearers inflicted upon them. That is some next level shit right there
Prediction: i think youre gonna do either the sons of medusa or the iron lords for the next video considering those are X legions successor chapters with the most lore although ive always been partial to the Red talons
Gabriel Seth is the man. In the Devastation of Baal. The back and forth between him and Dante is interesting, also they are kinda or use to be friends,
They both believe in what they do. There's a line in warhammer, goes like "He who sheds his blood with me, shall be my battle brother eternal" and I forget which one of them says it, but basically it's a huge BROS moment.
Gabriel Sseth's datasheet ability in 10th edition is literally called "Whirlwind of Gore", and I love it. I also like the lore that he became a lot more accepting of the primaris marines after seeing some of them fall to the Black Rage, as it showed him that they were really Flesh Tearers. My homebrew chapter is a Blood Angel successor chapter. They have two moods: fly into melee on jump packs, and "dear heretics, You say you don't want to be flattened by saturation airstrikes, and yet you are on the ground. Strange".
Gabe was so violent that a tyranid swarm decided it was better to just not interact with him than attack. The Hivemind, the great devourer, the current big bad of the setting looked at him and said "nope"
ive gone on a marathon and watched all of your content...like all. I found you while peaking on cid and I fell in love with the way you do your videos and I cant wait for more! your like a majorkill and Luetin09 crossover. I've begun the knight lords trilogy because of you and I'm just finishing blood reaver. You should do a video on Uriel Ventris
I finally figured it out. Space Marine Chapters are a Rorshach Test for you. Doctor: "Tell me what you see. " (holds up pic of Ultramarines) Bones: "Ahhhh, snore snore." Doctor: (holds up pic of Night Lords) Bones: "MOMMY!"
You using the Everywhere At the End Of Time songs in your videos is just bringing back all the feelings of horror and existential dread. I love your videos. Please stop.
You are a super human intellect. Didactic memory. Know every strategy and tactic in combat and war. You are physically capable of enacting whatever plan you take up. So...naturally, you just run in to battle headlong screaming and lashing out in a tistic or tardic fit with complete abandon. Makes sense.
In my opinion, Gabriel Seth is top dog in 40k. And looks and sounds like Jason Statham. And Amit was a red head, don’t get on his bad side. Flesh Tearers are the GOAT.
Funnily enough I just finished ‘Devastation’ during the week and was struck by how much I enjoyed the Gabriel Seth chapters. And it’s okay Arthur! The Knights of Blood are all dead now! Never to return!
Poor Seth finally taken out of the codex, my flesh tearers brothers we must rage for the return of our chapter master. Sure he’s a bastard but he’s our bastard thrown damn it! But seriously I’ve been a flesh tearer since I painted my first marine, the color scheme the iconography the lore all so good!
Allthough I have read a bunch of Fleshtearer books (the action is usually dope, and I highly recommend the 'Sons of Wrath' novella which stars the ONLY likable Flesh Tearer) I cannot STAND them as a chapter. THEY DONT EVEN TRY not to be douches xD
I like how the "Uh, Hi, im Arthur" has gotten more confident over time. Is that you actually getting more confident or the RU-vid personality of Arthur having his own character arc?
Another thing I find quite neat about The Flesher Tearers (and Eaters) is their similarity to the pre-Sanguinius Blood Angels/Revenant Legion; back when they were infamous/renowned by other legions for their brutal approach/methods of war tactics, before Sanguinius "refined" them by quite a bit.
The thing i dont like when hearing and reading about chapters like the Flesh Tearers is how their existence kills my suspension of disbelief. Like, a chapter that behaves like the flesh tearers would have long since joined Chaos. They are essentially the World Eaters without needing the nails, it doesnt really make sense to me how they can stave off corruption regardless of devotion considering they are definitely not Grey Knights. Even if they weren't corrupted to Khorn, it's kinda goofy to me that the imperium keeps around a chapter that wastes human life so flagrantly. Yes, in the far future humanity has so many people that life is a resource like food and water, however you'd think the Imperium would have some level of optics to keep up the image of a holy empire. I can already imagine how planets would rebel or even fall to corruption if the information ever leaked to the public about what this chapter of "angels" does on the daily. They'd also completely undermine the image of the church if this chapter slips up even once.
Hey now, Knights of Blood deserve respect simply for the verbal smack down the Chapter Master gave Khabanda. Spoilers ahead for Devastation of Baal.... "Sanguinius banished you, I cannot. I came to give you my testament daemon! The call us monsters, rightfully so. But, let it be known to you and your master! That it is Sanguinius' fury that gives me strength, not bastard Khorn's!"
Loved those guys. Shame they were created only to die in that book. I made a killteam of them. van sgt (leader), stern sgt (veteran) vet sgt (combat) 3 vanguard veterans. everyone has two chainswords. full musketeer charge ahead.
Looking forward to the day you can outgrow the "uhhh...hi!" intro and be the channel you're destined to be, away from the awkward meekness. It's not doing you any favours brother.
"Like Ultramarines but painted a different color" Uniform, no personality at first glance, walking with a stick perpetually up their ass but with no real combat capability aside from barebones knowledge? Flesh Tearers do have a point. They may have your colors and standard, but they have by no means the personality traits to match
