When I was a teen I met the Lobsterboy at the Brockton fair in MA. Reading his wikipedia page now I guess maybe that wasn't such a great thing. But I was fascinated then.
Ok I just watched "are you afraid of the dark" nickelodeon show. It had me looking for carnival barker videos. I never knew what they were. After thumbing through videos it brought me to this video. You sir have peaked my interest. I feel like I can't die until I attend one of these/your shows. More info please lol. (Dead serious)
Many people look down on the side shows but really this is the only work they can get..these side shows are there living..when there shut down how do they pay there bills and feed them self's..there making the best out of what they have and using it to make a living
Let's see... The alligator is actually normal-sizes for a 50 year old and there have been bigger ones, the snake woman was fake, the "giant rat" is a capybara, the woman getting her head chopped off at the beginning was fake (no the woman, the head-chopping), and the tiny horse is a pony. The rest was alright. I like how they lie to people to get money.
This was depressing to watch because of the animals. I have NEVER taken my kids to a circus or any entertainment that uses animals in their shows, exhibits. I wouldn't give them a dime to continue their cruelty. It messed up the whole vlog for me.
Lets call the animals freaks and the people wonders. I never felt comfortable calling people freaks, at least when it was called a Freakshow. I call them sideshows myself. Thats a little more respectful. Poor animals though. Most of them dead :'(
