FYI, that coach is my dad, Michael Bolton (no relation to the singer). He was the production designer on this film and the director, Chris walas, thought it would be funny for him to do a cameo. Also, if you notice massive sign, the restaurant is called Bolton's Burgers- the construction crew though it would be funny to come and install it in our front lawn when shooting wrapped.
At least an injection of humour the first one didn't have although the first is still superior obviously but this still had some good things in it and maybe if that scene with the kids in the car was left in might have made a slight difference 👍🏻
Despite this not being directed by David Cronenberg, this alternate ending may be referential to the ending of Scanners, but flipped on it's head in that the bad guy may be the one that wins.
Martinfly and Bartok swapped eye color during the gene-swapping sequence. You can see that the camera zooms on Bartok's now blue eye at the end of the movie. All this implies that perhaps Bartok is now Martinfly.
I'm glad they deleted that scene, I think it shows Martin loosing his humanity a little too early. Just posted our own retrospective/recommendation of this forgotten sequel!
Frightfully Forgotten Idk man, some background kids are pains in the ass, you don't really want to hurt them or scare them too bad, just make them go "wtf" I'd probably do that if I could lmao
It's hard to tell. Could just be the angle. Both eyes look dark. I can't tell if he has a contact lens or not. But you may be right. Why would they focus on his eyes if they weren't trying to show he wasn't quite better.
I honestly like both endings Bortock getting his and Martin feeling better when starting his new life with Beth with a possibility his father's fly DNA is still in his system only he can control it
if he waited for them to close the window, not really... it's hard to tell. he could of just wanted to scare them. he seems to be a smart guy and would know if he'd injure them. XD
That wasn’t just normal puke too, when it goes back to the kids face you can tell there is no glass, which means that M’articula almost bathed these kids in acid. Actually a pretty dark scene when you think about it
Honestly, at that point at least, I don't think that Martin wouldn't have maimed and mutilated innocent children, no matter how obnoxious their behavior. Sure scared them good, though!
so he kills all those people at bartok and they just let him go scot free? Yeah right!! this movie had a ton of flaws but would have been the most egregious by far! it was a smart move to cut that ending and instead leave his fate ambiguous.
When Martin was lying down in a couch in the motel scene, Beth asked how he was feeling he said "Better, much better..", then he went on to say "look I can play new tricks." I bet that is what he was gonna say next.
@@zhechen7691 Remember in the previous movie, when Seth (Jeff Goldblum), at a given point, starts showing twitches akin to the way flies act? Something like that, is what I meant…
I haven't seen this since I was a kid and barely remember the actual ending. This whole scene is the alternate ending, or is only the part with the kids the alternate ending? Wasn't Martin healed when he gene swapped with Bartok, so why is he looking all mutant like in the car in the scene with the kids?
Other comments on this thread are implying a subtle message. Eric Stoltz has blue eyes. Lee Richardson (Bartok) had brown eyes. In the theatrical ending, the caged monster appears to have a blue eye. In the aftermath of the exit from the telepod, we never get a good look at Stoltz's eyes; but in this alternate ending scene he appears to have brown eyes. So, there's an implication that maybe we don't really know who's who.
@DougRayPhillips Ooooh shit, just like what happened with Scanners. I won't spoil that ending for that movie for those who haven't seen it, but for those who have then you'd get it.
Guess they deleted that scene with the annoying kids because you see Pepsi brand and thus it got deleted for money costs . Since this movie is a B-movie
It was cut for time flow, not cost. Pepsi and Coke love having their products in every scene that can get them in, and the art department of a film is obsessive about clearance on IP before anything comes near a set.
