I'm fully invested in this video. This one tactic helped me completely destroy the French Ligue with AS Monaco. I know this because I created a tactic that was supposed to fit my Monaco team and they struggled to win games, but BOOM, this tactic that doesn't fit the Monaco team somehow wins every game with the Monaco team. It's insane.🤣
I'm Indonesian and I watch his stream explaining his tactics with videos while in final match... And I surprised how deep he thinking about his strategies. (bpd with dribble more, fb stay wide cut inside, etc). In the world cup I also confident that Indonesian will win the cup because in the term of FM Draft, here (Indonesia FM Draft League) is more-more harder than the world tournament)
I put Barnsley, from league 1, into the Premier league. Didn't make any transfers or anything so it was still a league 1 side. They finished 18th, by a point. While using this tactic. I think that shows how insane it is
I got back into FM after a many year break about a month ago. Watched a whole bunch of your videos, but this is the first one that I have hit the thumbs up on. The understanding of how he wants the whole team to act and making sure that every part of the team is working towards that goal engine was brilliant. I will be going through my 4-2-4/4-3-3 asymmetric tactic with a fine toothed comb to see what I can do to fine tune it based on this knowledge.
Actually i think i remember something about opposition instructions either lichsan or the assistant said it directly from an interview, they change it frequently and adjust to the opponent flow. It make a huge difference when the match start. that's why ichsan said in the last part KNOWLEDGE is the key.
Can you still watch it somewhere ? And guessing the video aint in english? Would love to watch it otherwise. This guy made me think of stuff that seems so logical yet I never even considered it, I love it
@@p0lter7 Yes, i guess this was the video, around the 56 minutes mark. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oLFNE1bTKGw.htmlsi=HP02G-k1PsBwwZ8k he didnt really explain it in depth, but he does say that, he identified that the Germans tactics on the Grandfinal, was a 3 centre strikers attack, utilizing wingbacks to feed them. He effectively shutdown the flanks, and the tactics crumbled.
@zealand bro you should ask this guy about the tactic also, he's the assistant manager to ikhsan during the world cup. He's the 'veteran' to partner with the 'wonderkid' hahaha Love your vids from indonesia since 2021!
Very cool! One thing I realized is that its very similar to the Katana 4-2-3-1 ATT on which u already did a video when u covered the best tactics in FM
Came here to say this. Realistically no one was gonna win this tournament without using a tactic like this. It's kinda what makes multiplayer FM less exciting than other games in multiplayer.
I occasionally use a tactic called One shot V17 that I downloaded off of the internet almost a year ago, which is identical to this in every instruction, position and role.... I think I might know where his inspiration came from.
I've been using a variation of this with many of the same principles using a 4-2-2-2 with 2 attacking midfielders and two strikers instead of the 2 wingers. It has been working like a charm. I added in a couple things from the video and its working even better.
From the podcast he did in Indonesia, i think he actually started playing in FM2023, while the assman actually the one play longer (FM08 if i'm not mistaken)
You touched on it here and there, but as a new FM player (and especially one who's more interested in taking bottom tier clubs, and rising through the ranks) I'd like more insight on what quality of player is required to make a top-tier tactic work. Would be interesting to see how Ichsan might build for a tiny minor league, vs. a mediocre, non-top league national club, vs. an international powerhouse. How would a person start building a tactic around a team, and then the team around the tactic. There are hints throughout the video that players matter- so tactics can't really be plug and play for everyone, right?
The best tactics are mostly plug-and-play. A 4231 gengenpress like this is supposed to work in any league and division in the world, barring some minor player instructions tweaks
what missing from zealand video but present in ichsan interview in indonesian is that he's always prioritize improve backroom staff to atleast 4 star before tweaking tactics.
@@SaKa-ex2nb haha, I don't even know what that means yet... Staff have stars too?I've seen coaches with reputation but I just sign staff with highest core attribute values.
Back in FM20 (my first one) i downloaded a random tactic somewhere. Over the years i have constantly used it and always adapted it a bit more to my needs/likings- year by year. I am shocked how similar this tactic turned out with Saint Ichsan`s creation. It always felt kind of op. My only notable differences are: Second Striker (DLF) instead of the regular AF One DLP on Support instead of DM on Support My IF's dont have markings on the enemy fullbacks
I love how he came up with some absolute waffle about why he 'chose' all the instructions instead of just saying 'because the top tactic from FM arena that I downloaded had those instructions'
To be fair, the tactics creators on FM Arena do have their own justifications on why they choose these instructions and roles for their tactics... even if 95% of the time it's nothing but "the match engine favors it" 😂
they emphasize 4231 by overload positions at flanks, alot of dribbling, focus plays at both fllanks, exploit every deadball situations, and heavy man to man marking at opponent attackers, even fullback got man marking by their attackers too, their tactics are not without a flaws either, the keys to exploit their flaws are midblock / low block, using carrilero and ball winning midfielder to stop their dribbling plays, great long passing capability like tony kroos, speed and technical like mbappe and vinicius, why? because they man marking, you need speed and precision
this is my FM problem. i play the game for 24 years (since championship manager 00/01) but something i never had much patience was tactics. I use the formation a lot, usually with a ball playing midfielder and a advanced playmaker in the middle, usually controlling the ball or tiki taka. But I focus mostly on finding wonderkids and have very good prospects from all over the world, where i take my time to develop them and make the team stronger. I love finding good players from unlikely countries, I spend hours checking national teams and other clubs. Also even in the attributes I don't care that much besides 4 or 5, I tend to see the stars and mostly the scout feedback. So I can see myself winning the premier league with wolves in like 3 seasons. Only once at stoke I managed to win the premier league in the first season, pretty much with the players the team had. My focus has been mostly developing small clubs all over europe, instead of being a tactic pro which I definitely should have trained. Probably one day I'll try to win a premier league with a smaller club again, I still to this day don't know how I done it with stoke, and it was fm 09/10 or something. How on earth this guy has been playing the game for so little.... I mean I never played an fm version since 21, which is the one I play now. The adaptation of the tactics to the attributes of each player was very smart.
This is surprisingly similar to the strongest tactic I made for myself this year. Pretty much only difference is I used DLP for one of the DMs and didnt use FB attack. Ive been using something similar to this since FM15
Balls. Also would be nice to have some of the others from the world cup come over (such as germany, england and such) and review their tactic and may be compare it to iksan's tactic
I had a similar tactic in my England L20 to Prem save this year. Everyone was "tackle harder". I got something silly like 180 yellow cards but stayed up with a payroll of 70k p/w
13 minutes in, and it’s clear why you’re the top Football Manager content creator. This video on tactics is miles ahead of the creators you reacted to in your last video. The script, editing, cutaways, and your voiceover - all top-tier work.
I think this highlights why a full rework of tactics is necessary. It doesn't make sense that tackle harder and having max intensity tactics is the standard to win. The penalty for these is not high enough. they should be used only in certain scenarios, and with very high risk. Also when you mentioned the width on defending as "narrow" that's not correct, the narrow option is on the "in possession" tab, should not affect your defending. I really don't think there should be so many individual instructions, it only makes the game engine more complicated and easier to break/overpower. The player role and the team tactics should be more than enough.
This tactic is great but as a plug and play, knap's best points per game tactic outperformed it during my tests. Very curious if there are other people observing similar or different results.
I think the main difference between this tactics and the usual uploaded “broken” tactics. Is that those are meant to be plug and play and worl with generic teams, but this one is supposed to make the most out of your individual players. It gives me hope that Is actually worth to make your own tactics for your save, because every team has different players with different strengths
No, this uses nearly all the well known elements from the best plug and play tactics. They all have have attacking FBs, 2 x BPD, 2x DM Su, 2 x IF Su and an AF. Some of them like Katana or God of Chaos use an AM in a 4-2-3-1, others use a seconf forward instead. They all press a lot, counter press, trigger press more, have high defensive lines and high lines of engagement. Goalkeeper distribution is on roll it our and distribute quickly on all of them too. There's barely anything different here at all except the SK being on support instead of defend. Zealand himself covered a lot of these tactics in a vide entitled "Testing Football Manager's Best Tactics" that he published in April.
Hallelujah !! Off course that players, them selves , by their characteristics and especially their Traits will determine how they act on the pitch, Regardless of the role they play. To the certain extent , naturally. If you play a striker as DC he will not bomb forward and act as a striker. But in the midfield , it's different kind of the story. For example ; In my favorite 442 2dm wide tactics ( algorithm of the game baptized the tactics that way ) I play with two wide playmakers ( MR and ML ) , Half Back and Segundo Volante/attack on DM positions. When I'm trailing down and chase the result i change my Half Back. Instead of , basically accomplished BPD on DM position I put there a player of Deep lying pm characteristics ( good passing, Trait to go forward, dictate the tempo of the match, etc ) and ... Voilà . There he is, playing in the manner of Regista ( even more attack minded ) , helping my build up play more, help the overload of sector 12 , very often going to finish the action him self, with mid range shoots or direct assist thru openings in opposition defense , caused by the overload in midfield. While being responsible in defense , at the same time. Cos he's fresh, came as a sub and can play in both directions. And I don't change a single PI for that Half Back role. Player will go forward, regardless of Hold Position PI if that is his Trait; the way he plays. One of the reasons why I train all my DMCs and MCs on Roaming Playmaker role. But, implications of that approach cannot be described in the single comment ;) Damn, I wish I could leave my country and go to that FM World Cup. Just won 6th, consecutive Champions League with Crystal Palace 😊
This tactic is OP. I downloaded maybe a week ago and literally you will absolutely wreck everyone in your league with only a decent team. Especially lower leagues. You will kill everyone in the lower leagues lol. For an example, I did a youth only save in wales, dropped all my players after the first season, and started my way in the JD premier with just the YA. We came mid table despite being "up against it" every single match... it is OP. My 6 CA striker was doing very well when he had no business doing so. Another example, Started in Gibraltar with awful Europa point FC. Ran the league and only lost twice..and those were the last 2 games after I already clinched the league title. I was losing players along the way and not replacing them and still doing well. It kinda makes things a bit too easy.
Also interview manar the assistant manager. He can explain you how to utilize the oppsite instruction and shoutout that you didnt mention in this video and also he is a funny guy
First time FM player: I tried to emulate the tactic after watching the world cup and won, after one season to get my squad done, three triples with Dortmund, with one invincible season in the league. It works.
I find the "attack" mentality interesting. To me it seems that a higher mentality leads to a lower possession. Against opponents that are good at keeping possession (so when I'm at 40-45%), I might drop it down and almost immediately get more chances.
Tried all of his 3 versions, with City, Real and Bayern, and not once it won me the league! Basically was the dice roll, which team will score more at first half's of all seasons, and second part of the seasons, AI find out how to close the attack, while exploiting that tactic defense was to easy. Been playing since FM 08, and this is one of the most swiss cheese open let the other team score 5 goals tactic I have ever tried and tested in the last 17 years!!!
I’ve just set this tactic up on my Cardiff save it was getting a bit boring tbh the save so nice to go back. Played 6 games in the league and I’m undefeated. Also just beat Villa at home in the 4th round of the FA Cup 😃
His tactics is very similar to my 2-3-4-1 tactics I just don invite Crosses and play for set pieces Because one of my top defender is short and hard to replace him
I don't understand the full backs on attack with underlap on. Thought the idea is for the IFs to hold up the ball for the full backs to overlap. How does that play out.
This is actually a modified version of the best tested tactic in tactics tester. Its amazing how genius he is in crafting this as well as knowing why it works. I've been using this tactic for a year now and never knew the details of why it worked. It all adds up now, how my full backs have the most assists as well as the tackle harder instructions. For anyone wondering, yes you get a lot of yellows and reds and other in game managers criticise how aggressive you play but it pays dividends on how amazing it is
the underlap intructions concerns me a little. I don't get why he uses that with wide full backs and narrow inverted forward. Isn't that a contradiction? I mean, if the inverted forward is holding up the ball and the full back is wide, how they can underlap properly?
Try to divide the width of field into 5 lanes, and let your winger in the 2nd and 4th lane, while your Full Back operates on 1st and 5th lane. That's how the hold ball - wing slasher works. Later, the FB can go inside if they have chance, or just cross on byline if not
I love how none of my FM RU-vidrs did a video on the FM world cup. I was even looking forward to seeing what happened but its only now i know who won the damn thing. Sure some of you announced it but i thought id get some kinda content from it. i remember seeing ONE clip of John Terry picking a draft.. other than that. Nothing.
