Nah, I think the reason why they cut so much was because FNaF’s main audience is kids nowadays and wanted to appeal to them without limiting the people who could see the movie.

Almost all of these things (except for the Hank one) are in the novelization!! At least in the first copy, the one they had to change because the mischaracterized Doug was in it. I wonder if future copies of the novel are more movie-like?

My guess is that the novelization was in the works for a while, so Scott sent Andrea (the writer) an older version of the movie script as a base for the novelization

The movie novelization has most of the cut content. A little different but it’s there. My theory is still that the book takes from earlier script versions too.

It's actually the case as Scott explained that there was error during printing, explaining that the right version would eventually come out. So far it didn't.

Although its understandable why they made it PG-13, I think it would've been a good idea to keep the R-rated cut for the DVD release, therefore making both older and younger fans pleased. It would've helped them quit whining over the film rating.

The movie was rated PG-13, not PG. The games have always also been PG-13. Scott has confirmed he & other writers rewrote the 2nd movie because he followed criticism most fans gave.
