It felt weird to me too. Controls felt sticky, I was hesitant. Every video and review I saw said it was an incredible gun so I trusted them. It breaks in to a masterpiece and the controls just take a little practice to get right.
Got this as my first gun per recommendation from local gun store staff (Wanted a good suppressor host first and foremost) back in 2022. Got the rugged suppressor obsidian 45 for it shortly after. I don’t think any other pistol can touch this. Next firearm I think will be a honey badger w/ its own suppressor ❤😂
I have an Obsidian on the way, can’t wait. Honey badgers are cool, but there are so many options now with no buffer tube. I think I’d go with one of those if I had the choice.
Paired with the Apex Mrat it becomes that much better of a gun softer shooting less muzzle flip and the cycling of the action during manipulations is absolute butter
I never understand why these elite companies don’t innovate as quickly as others. If Hk had the same feature set and capacity, I would have been way more likely to purchase that. I do love this gun though.
I did a similar thing but my 2 contenders are the hk Mark 23 and the fn fnx .45 after putting alot of rounds through both they both performed perfect the mark 23 was a lil more accurate at range but the extra 3 rnds in the fnx is what ultimately made me choose the fnx
I had one O ring fail on me, looked like it just wore out, didn’t melt. I also don’t have very high round counts at a time through the gun so I guess they could melt. They seem to be pretty durable though. They’re also cheap and plentiful/ east to replace if needed.
The prodigy still has its growing pains and its just as heavy dry weight as a regular 1911. If your a 1911 guy and love 45 the fnx is better. This is coming form a 1911 guy and I've carried 1911 since I could long ago. If you want 15rds of 45 in a lighter carry package than a 8rd 1911 get the fnx. I also own an fnp9 9mm 16rd DA/SA since they came out around 06 so mabey I'm a bi biased but with the weight difference favoring the fnx and a 45 acp guy this is a go to gun for carry and home
Also instead of a prodigy I bought the springfield xdm elite osp 4.5 in 9mm. 20+ mag in a gun optic ready for 745$ out the door. It shoots nice and you have a lifetime warranty with springfield. That's my home defense gun The 2011 game is still too new for me to carry it and depend on it.
I got one of these in black awhile ago, and still haven't been able to shoot it yet. Can't wait to try it out! How is your fnx45t holding up, any issues?
What was the decent price? Mine was 1080 with a red dot....it only came with 10rd mags tho. I had to make sure and test the gun out well. I mag dumped 200 rounds no problem yesterday 😌 yep, she's a keeper! Lol 😆 I did run into a issue with choice ammo tho.
@@helloguy5646 I also got 4 mags (15 rounds) The reason I was ok with it is because I'm waiting on my 460 rowland package to come in. That way it actually performs like a Ferrari 😆 🤣 😂 😹 And that's the main reason I got my FNX-45 T ...still super happy with it, and I only found 1 ammo I've had a problem with. She runs everything else so far just great 👍 Having different mags is ok for different ammo types in my case...I even ordered them color coded
Agree to disagree. Highly encourage you to go shoot a USP and compare. The USP double spring sold me, never had a 45 shoot as soft as a .40 or even some 9mms. Follow up shots can get very fast! Good video though.
Polymer trigger shoe, yes. Slightly disappointing for such a pricy gun…but I’ve never heard of any failures due to that aspect. I’m glad I could provide some info that wasn’t apparent elsewhere!

I got it, a Holosun 507c (green), Streamlight TLR-HL and a few extra mags, all at a 12% discount from Primary Arms, which was really cool. Just lucky timing though cause i was gonna get it anyway lol
I have a FNX 45 tactical that is black(I think black is the coolest color). I have a Trijicon SRO optic on it, I haven't shot it yet. Bought it 3 months ago along with HK 45 tactical. I'm waiting on my suppressor to come...it's been over 200 days easily for a e-file that said 90 days. I hope you plan on suppressing it, waste of money if you don't.
I do plan on suppressing it, although I don’t feel it’s a waste of money otherwise. Black or FDE was a very hard choice. Black is tacticool af. Sucks about the wait times. You should just shoot it anyway.
@@direct_infringement6614 I only say it's a waste of $ for the upgrades, such as a threaded barrel and suppressor height sights if a individual didn't plan on suppressing it. I don't think many people realize that FN makes a standard FNX 45 without the upgrades, which is surprisingly affordable. I hope you continue to enjoy the gun, my bucket list 45 is the Mark 23.
@@collinsingleton6899 You may run into some issue’s with stove piping with that optic. There’s another channel on here showing it. The Trijicon SRO overhangs the ejection port slightly causing ejection malfunctions. Better off running an RMR
@@n8strength I received my suppressor and shot my FNX. I actually read a article and seen a video about the SRO being hit by brass and not the stove piping. I had zero issues with stove piping, I ran 50 rds thru it. Not a great sample size, I did however notice brass hitting the optic. I'll look into that, thanks for the info.

@@dakodajbraswell I've heard those extensions don't work very well. I'll just stick to factory and not monkey around. I find that everytime I fool with my gun, I get more problems.

I have a tendency to shoot very far right with that gun so I was trying different trigger positions. I’m not the best pistol shooter so I’m trying to find what works for me.
