The foods you should try in Amsterdam 

I totally agree that the fries with mayo and ketchup are amazing. The curry ketchup is good too. I also love Stroopwafels.

I have travelled to Amsterdam many times and I can confirm that all of these foods are tasty.

The 'oliebollen' truck is usually only around the end of the year from mid October till January. As oliebollen and appel beignets are a tradition around new years eve. The food you ate is not just only in Amsterdam but everywhere in the Netherlands so please The Netherlands is NOT JUST Amsterdam. Stamppot is a variety of dishes with vegetables and mashed potatoes. Just not one dish. It also eaten in Belgium (Flanders) and Germany. From April till mid June we also have white asparagus best known as the white gold. They are delicious.
