As a Benfica supporter I remember being very happy that he finally left, Porto truly had one hell of a squad build around him, lad was an absolute beast.
I’m an Atlético Mineiro fan and we absolutely love the incredible Hulk! Great player with unique character, smart on and off the pitch. Won us the first brazilian league title in 50 years and is still an amazing player
When he came back to Brazil, Hulk simply DESTROYED everyone with an incredible Atlético MG side which won a treble: the Minas Gerais state championship, the Brazilian League and the Brazilian Cup. Hulk was the best player and top goalscorer in both the League and the Cup slotting in some absolute bangers along the way. This dude seemed to be on a whole different level. Even though the Brasileirao is not anywhere near La Liga or the Premier League in terms of financial power, it's still one of the most competitive leagues on the planet and you usally never know who is going to win it. Atlético Mineiro last league trophy was in 1971(!). That goes to show how much he had an impact on that season for a club that hadn't seem some silverware in while. He scored 36 goals and provided 16 assists in 68 matches (YES, we play tons of matches in a season in Brazil). He's still playing very well into his late 30s even though his club is far from the form they showed in 21 Hulk is one of the most interesting players to watch in South America right now. Very unique player.
@@loba7373 a treble is winning three trophies in a season. Of course winning a state championship is not that important, but it's a crazy hard achievement to do so since only Cruzeiro in 2003 and Atlético in 2021 were able to do that.
Honestly hulk is one of the best, most underrated kinds of strikers. With the physique of a defender, and a powerful and accurate shot. He’s like the Güllit of the 2010’s
My Favorite team to watch at one point was Porto when they had all my Colombians on there, Falcao, James and Guarin. Little did I know Hulk was going to be one of my favorite players to watch on that team. He's the definition of a BEAST, That Porto team was amazing.
@silphwave9907 yeah he was great. The whole squad was stacked. Fucile, "Cebolla" Rodriguez, prime moutinho, "palito" pereira...I can go on. Fun team to watch
As a Benfica fan, this guy was the bane of my existence for years, I hated hearing his name LOL. Oscar Cardozo was one of my favorite players growing up and it was pain seeing him get overshadowed by this beast of a man. Felt somewhat like a relief when he left the league but I wish he was there in the league when we came back and won the league 4 years in a row. Would've been that much more satisfying.
@@RaymarFootballYou could have put Luisão, Jardel and Ruben Dias (I know they never played all together) and still wouldn't stop him. Porto never had the same attack power since he left
I first saw him in 2012 Olympic final match against Mexico. He shot the ball from 30 yards away and almost scored. I was like wtf, how?! 😂😂. Been a fan since
He could have been great. He made an instant impact in the Portuguese league and was clearly the league’s best player. Keep in mind the league has had great wingers like Quaresma, Ronaldo, Nani, Di Maria, Simão Sabrosa… Other great players like Falcao, James Rodriguez, Gaitan, Darwin Nunez, etc. Arguably no one outperformed or had the same impact as him in the league’s history.
Yeah he genuinely was so amazing at Porto. Could easily have done it in Ligue 1 and at the very least would have some of the craziest goals any league he would go to
@@RaymarFootball Do you have any videos on Radamel Falcão? He’s not mentioned as much these days but he was one of the great strikers of this generation in his prime.
As a Porto fan since child, I remember my father and I watching Porto games together and Hulk indeed was a beast, it was so good having him and after he left I always wondered where he had go because I never heard anything about him in big leagues. I feel like going to russia or china was a total waste of his talent but its his life, he chooses what to do. Definitely still a legend and always will be.
For fans football is about passion. For football players it is about money. That's how it works. Tell best doctors physioterapist and dentists to work in public health organisation for good sake of mid and low class society. Of course all of them work in private clinics and charge some mental amount of money for 1 visit. That's how world works
I've been begging @daily dose of football for a Hulk video! I'm glad you made it. Well done 👏 such a shame Hulk didn't become better. I feel he was ambitious enough
@@RaymarFootball I personally like the "what happened to..." just like the Hulk video, players with huge potential that let it all go down the drain. Here's some good ones "hazard, Adriano, robinho, pato" the list goes on
As a futsal goalie for fun. I play against semi pro footballers. I saved shots that almost broke my hand(It felt like it at least). I can't imagine how hard he kick.
im from brazil and recently i was watching an atletico mineiro game, there was a free kick given close to the middle of the pitch, i thought "he will cross right? he cant shoot from there" he shot and scored.
I wish that Hulk's career could restart all the way since he was 18 , hoping for him to choose the big clubs that he deserved to play in , but he never did that and chose the money. However , we will still remember Hulk , one of the Brazilian legend's.
I remember playing Zennit on fifa 16 with my friends. Discovering the team was a total accident from the random team selector, but once I played it, none of my friends could beat me. Even with the prime Real Madrid and Barcalona teams. Hulk was the striker on this team, and was usually the reason I would win, since you could shoot from pretty much anywhere on the entire field and the ball would still find its way into the net half the time. Just for fun once, we ran a game where hulk could only shoot from behind the midfield line, and by the end he still had 2 goals. He's been one of my personal favorite players in the game, and in real life ever since.
I remember a soccer player (can't remember who) here in Brazil saying something like "a soccer player's career ends at a very young age. At 35 you're already considered 'old' and by the time you're 40 you're retired for life; and we don't know to do anything else but to play soccer, so we gotta make those prime years count (financially)". We, the fans, only think about the sport as a big show, and it's easy for us to forget that this is their job, that's how they make a living (and only a very few of them get those big contracts). So I think I can understand why he made those decisions. Btw, coincidentally, I'm also from Campina Grande, Paraíba!
Another correction... his release clause was 100M €... Porto needed money, but no top club was willing to pay even half of that - at that time, the big 5 giants were still not willing to pay big money for some player from the Portuguese league. It was not a question of a big salary! He would easily earn a lot more than in Porto in any top 5 club... and his salary at Zenit, although very high, was not even close to the ones of stars in the top leagues. It was simply a matter of the club's necessity and selling to the club who bided the highest. The one that offered the most was Zenit... and Porto needed to do some big sale that year (as usual... not a top 5 rich club)... so he was sold at the beginning of September 2012, after playing the super cup 2012 and the first games of the primeira liga 12/13... that's why he actually won the Portuguese super cup and the primeira liga 4 times each!
Raymar man i really like your vids and this is coming from my heart keep up this great work and always be positive man i wish u were more famous you are a really good speaker.❤
Benfica fan here. I remember seeing Hulk play for the first time in Porto, right after he joined from Japan. I immediately told a friend who I was watching the game with that this guy would become serious business pretty soon. He was like, "This guy?! Hulk? lol From... Japan!?" I was right.
I live in Belo Horizonte and support Atlético Mineiro. Hulk is just built different. Don't just look at his numbers, also watch him play. His pace and power are just absurd for his age! It defies logic.
Idk if it was fake but I saw a video of him bursting a ball completely while kicking…then one game he hit the woodwork on a free kick so hard it came back around decked his teammate around 65-70mph lol…
I'm sorry but Porto is quite a name in European football. They are by no means "underrated". And the Portuguese league is not top 5 maybe but very close to it. Apart from this your documentary is excellent so thanks very much! I loved the guy. I hadn't seen that free-kick close the end when the ball hits the post and bounces back to the head of a player from the wall haha. Olympiakos Greece fan.
