I will never forget Platini. Favorite footballer for life. Also Platini is from North Italy not far from the French border. They are not so different from the French.
Lev Yashin played for all this career in only 400 official matches . 326 games for Dinamo Moskow and 74 for USSR National Team. Lev Yashin never played in UEFA Champions Cup. In 1950s soviet teams played only 22 games per season. No international matches. 270 clean sheets in 400 official matches is theoretically impossible. For USSR national team Lev Yashin conceded 70 goal in 74 matches. This is worse than any best goalkeeper of another National Team. Lev Yashin in NOT even the best for USSR national team. Rinat Dasayed is the best. 157 saved penalties in 400 official matches that is CRAZY. Actually according to official statistics available in the Internet Lev Yashin saved only 7 penalties.
He wants to dribble to much since he is playing in Manchester, he should be focussing more on passing the ball right on time and only dribble when there is really a possibility . He wants to be the showman to much. That is why he losing the ball that much . To much ego
A transfer to Real Madrid was an absolute bargain for Galaticos , he proved Bayern Munich wrong , an absolute legend , the best midfielder to ever played the game .
Great man, always seemed slow and looked like he had all the time in the world and couldn`t care less either way with that nonchalant swagger,he always reminded me of Stan Bowles and Rodney Marsh.
imagine if his injuries weren't as severe and he'd be more available during his downtimes.. the baby faced assassin could've not only been a United legend, but an all time great (talking world type legend). He was never the "play the whole game" type of player (even tho he had plenty of them).. but just the "sub him in at the 70-ish minute mark and he'd actually kill the game time and time again, truely says something about him as a player. He was my idol growing up, and man.. I just wish he had managed to stay on the pitch for just a bit more than he did. truely a legend
I don’t see anyone talking about puyol being the head coach of Barcelona that in my opinion is the right move and puyol knows how to be a leader and can teach the young players how to having a winning mentality and be a leader
Technique wise he was bang average but his stamina and mentality was absolutely elite. Also I would argue his first stint with Arsenal was much more successful, especially his partnership with Cesc. He went from being starting DM at Arsenal to average in Milan and on his return he was a shadow of himself. He barely played, but he’d fight for the team and fans loved him for that.
Kroos, Modric looked a cht above the rest from day one i remember Liverpool even touted him to join Gerrard in midfield... Modric been class since before he came to spurs Croatia were oozing with him on the field
My opinion, still considered as one of the best defender's. It only went down hill at a specific time. Rather than him doing good and mistake's at the same time. I really love him, he may be making ton's of mistake's. He's only around 31; So he has time for recovery and actually proving himself. Even considering as the most expensive defender in football history.
