Gillin likely had a concussion and died from the trauma after leaving Senshi with food. And the creature Laios and Skyfish killed is likely a descendent of the one he ate back then- he was 36 then, and is 112 now (iirc).
It’s impossible to decide. Or, rather, it’s too easy to decide when I’m comfy in my chair, a world away. Thinking about it from the perspective of someone who will probably never have to taste it either way, I just don’t think I’d be that haunted by it if I needed to survive. Especially if I wasn’t the one to do the deed. But you never know how your primal instincts will react to stuff like that. It could haunt me. I could see it happening. I’m not sure whether I would be able to handle the information if I was going through the level of emotion Senshi seemed to be when that Griffin attacked.
The drive to survive is a powerful thing, strong enough to make even the unthinkable seem reasonable in the face of certain death. Like you said, you never really _know_ what you're capable of when you've been backed into a corner until it actually _happens_ -- ask any Vietnam veteran who saw action how prepared they were to take a life _before_ ending up in a literal do-or-die scenario.
It might be worse not knowing if you did or didn’t, rather than choosing to eat someone yourself. It would tarnish his memory of the person who gave it to you, for one, for making that choice without you.
I would rather know. I hate running from my issues, and facing them down and over coming always makes me feel better. If i had to eat a person to survive, i can live with that, but id want to know.
If you guys enjoy comedy, larger-than-life action with giant robots and monsters, and the animation work of _Delicious in Dungeon_ team Studio Trigger, I _have_ to recommend _Gurren Lagann._ Technically, _Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann_ was released by Gainax, which also produced giant robot-flavored depress-fest _Neon Genesis Evangelion_ and animated ketamine trip _FLCL_ -- but several of the people who worked on those shows split off from Gainax after finishing _Gurren Lagann_ to follow director Hiroyuki Imaishi to Trigger. They've since made such shows as _Kill La Kill, BNA: Brand New Animal, SSSS.Gridman,_ and of course, _Delicious in Dungeon._
Senshi actually said the soup was delicious. Thats why he ahd such a horrible time with realized it might be Dwarven meat. He thought that he might have liked eating other Dwarves.
