I have chanted daily for over eleven years. One mantra has been with me every day and I have done many 40 day practices of various mantras. Daily chanting truly changes a person. Take care with what you choose to chant, not all mantras are good for all people at all stages of their life. Best, in my opinion and experience, to stick with something simple and wholesome, like Om Mani Padme Hum. As for what you 'want' from mantras, chant for a good heart and the rest will take care of itself. Good luck!
Sanatkumara replies: "There is a great point in whatever you have learnt, no doubt, but this knowledge has not helped you for the simple reason that nothing can help you unless it is a part of your Being, unless it is a part of your Self. Nothing that is outside you can be of any help to you. Anything that is extraneous to your Self is not going to free you from sorrow. The source of your sorrow is what is outside you and that is an external self for you. It is not the Primary Self. Thus, the knowledge that you have about these things which you have mentioned just now is not the knowledge of the Self of these things, but the knowledge of the names of these things, the nomenclature of these things, and you have an idea of all these things. This is what they call theoretical knowledge of the things in the world. But what is the good of it? So, my dear Narada, all this is name only: these are words, all this is language, this is theory, this is information, nothing more than this. As a matter of fact, what you enumerated just now, Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, Atharvaveda, Itihasas, Puranas, this science, that science, this art, that art-all this is nothing but words and words. They seem to tell you a lot, but they cannot ultimately help you unless you enter into their Being, unless you become their Self."
Bro you know various things. I really liked what you have written. Can you please share your journey? I am currently watching Acharya Prashant. Will he help me in knowing my self and what you said in the comment?
Acharya Prasanth is a good orator I bet he hasn't experienced even a bit of inner peace in his meditation, stick with traditional swami's like ramakrishna mission, they do mantra intiation in Vedic way like rishis used to do. They intiate into powerful mantras. @@IITDELHI-ef8zf
Profound insight into beeja mantra and nada and bindhu and moola mantra. Thank youo so much swamiji. For those of us who chant japa mantras, this is very useful.
Thank you Swami Ji for this wonderful talk. Some self proclaimed 'gurus' who first claim to not know any Sanskrit at all with great pride, later go on to give misinformation to millions about the pronunciation of Om as being AUM and their followers go on to spread this misinformation.
∆ Mantras are a powerful expression of emotion in the human mind, typically used as a tool to evoke, manage, and balance emotions ! God bless 🤲 ' Thankyou 🙏
One should read Autobiography of a Yogi once and listen carefylly Shivoham Nirvana Shatakam multiple time. It will change the way you think and see the world
Try this. Seriously, what do you have to lose? With every thought, think or say “so?”. Just trust me and keep doing it. Keep going until you suddenly realize you are liberated.
I'm not a Hindi, I'd appreciate if you address the following questions of mine. 1. How many bijas are there? 2. If the bija is the deity, then reciting the bija means you call upon that particular deity, but since that deity is a particular expression of Brahma, would it be correct to say that you are indirectly just calling upon Brahma? What practical difference does it make to our life to call upon Brahma or a particular Bija. Is Brahma numerically one, or is he actually the Unity in Multiplicity? 3. Do the Bija mantras share any conceptual similarity with the Nordic Runes or the Huruf Muqattat (so called mysterious letters of the Quran)? Thank you in advance.
Also Brahma is not Brahman. I mean as a concept they aren't identical. Brahma is the aspect of Brahman that encompasses the creative aspect of the ultimate reality i.e. Brahman.
1.Every letter is a Bija and combinations of these letters make some more beejas ( There are 51 letters in Sanskrit language so there are lots of bijas ) 2. Bijas are forms of deity so yes when you chant you invoke the deity inside you in advanced stages and that will be like calling upon Brahman in a specific form. Difference is pure Brahman is without attributes however in earlier stages of your spiritual journey or due to mind's inclination we might be attracted to a specific deity form.so deity is Brahman with some attributes ( Brahman combined with Maya in a good way)
Why the title says forbidden? There is nothing forbidden here. If you have guru who can initiate according to your desire then anybody can do it, why is it forbidden?
Forbidden to everyone in general. The Guru will know who that special person is from amongst the many and may choose to impart a Manthra to him or her, one which is special to that person. This Manthra cannot be made public by that person. As to why Forbidden? I have no authority to discuss this question on this platform. Swamiji will do that. But a one line indicator may be allowable. A Manthra has immense power for both positive and negative consequences. It is vital that the control over a manthra does not fall into the hands of wrong people.
Not such a big secret. I've been practicing Transcendental Meditation as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for several decades which uses a Beeja mantra. It is taught traditionally by the Dandi Swamis.
Yeh jo aap yogya ayogya me na bichar kar. Vran ashram dharm virodh jakar yeh sab jo prasad ki tarah baat rahe kya sastriya hai.. Kya sastra kaheta hai yogya ayogya bina bichar kiye sastra gyan baton. Yeh aap logo ne majak bana diya hai sanatn dharm ka.
He is a Vedantin and still whatever he says reaonates with Rajarshi Nandy ji who is himself a tantric. I don't think you have any spiritual practice in life.
Yes it's all stories , whatever he or any other spiritual seeker says BUT otherwise too life is just a series of stories be it spiritual or worldly or materialistic Is not what we live by - stories One is free to chose what ever story he or she likes
@bodhitatva6253 agreed but partially. Don't you notice in your surroundings that some stories cause major suffering and others cause lesser suffering? Choosing the story should be done wisely.
@@saugyat Yes stories should be choosen wisely We all free to choose stories we think is good for us For me I think what are criterias for good I consider and then I question the criterias also , then I question who is this questioning and in spirituality , specifically Vedantic perspective, it is termed as False Ego and then there is another step , that is , it's all me but in this all me, there are no identifications
Other religions never speak these mantra and still they become successful, wealthy health and happy, this proves that may be mantra jaap is one way to remember god but god is not confined to these mantra only so just pray god he will listen wdout these mantra also
The objective of Hinduism is not to just become wealthy and successful, but to get salvation from the cycle of birth and rebirth and be one with the Brahman. Do remember that at one point India was indeed the richest civilization. It’s only in the past few centuries India went into abject poverty. The graph seems to be rising once again. Don’t judge just by physical wealth!
@@kvpillai this is a very nice reply, appreciate it. I believe it too that this is the way for salvation but 90% people do these mantras for the opposite worldly opulence.
@@Humani11 90% of people are driven by survival instinct. Science of ved and yoga is for those trying to go above that or those who are already above that. Hinduism is a vague term for whatever has ever happened in this subcontinent. One should focus on what is there for me. In the end, everything ends at 'myself'. Even the desire to serve the god is for 'myself'.
Firdt Rule of swamiji is promote crap and sell the package well collect money for teaching virtues and confer metaphysical consolation to the idiot seeker . What has all this got to do with knowing myself ?
Vedant is not monotonous It's full of infinite colors and taste and variety But yes the truth that vedant points at is monotonous , has ever been , will be so ever but otherwise it's infinite variety
He didn't attribute any words to the Mantra. He explained by means of language and within it''s limitations, the sounds which compose the Aum/On mantra.
Rubbish! Om existed millennia before Sadhguru s explanation. Though he is fantastic in many ways, not all that he says is right. Om is one of them. Swami here is absolutely correct in explaining the way he did
