I rode in a 2nd gen Probe GT with nitrous about 20+ years ago. It was pretty fast

YESS GOD FINALLY DELIVERED (I actually bought the red probe at 15:39 for 500$ only because I wanted something I could abuse . It runs and drives perfectly after new spark plugs and the 5spd feels decent also. And I have a foxbody gt and a 2013 gt so this is just for fun and that’s why I didn’t work an extra week at McDonald’s for a better one lol)

I have a 1993 GT in manual and absolutely love it It had been sitting in a barn for years non-running. I got it for $800 and all it needed was a battery in an oil change. running great now.

Back in college, i used to walk everyday to campus and omw there was always this super clean probe GT tastefully modded and sounded pretty decent too

Hell yeah lads, I know this episode will bang!! A lot of these are shitboxes but I owned a Mazda MX-6 as my first car, was owned by a collector that added all the OEM JDM accessories on it, (J spec headlights and fogs, digital climate control, leather interior, dude even added a wireless charger in the console and extra usb ports) looked brand new and made 200 at the crank with a KLDE, exhaust and millenia MAF conversion, 5spd V6. Still the best sounding car I've owned. Was a blast to bomb it down my local windy roads during covid with no cops, no cars and cheap petrol everywhere. Easy as hell to park with 4 wheel steer, had a butterfly valve in the intake that gave a VTEC style crossover noise in high revs too. Honestly believe its the perfect first car for a young enthusiast, I miss that thing so much!

the KLZE is the japanese V6, they made 200hp vs the US KLDE making 160

I had a Probe in the factory purple/blue colour flip paint when i was in High School here in Australia (97-99) and I fucking LOVE these cars. I put on GENUINE BBS LM's in 18's in 98, which was unheard of in Sydney at the time, and HORRENDOUSLY expensive, only to cut the springs to get it as low as possible and hit all the cruises back then whilst cranking the latest Skitz Mix on CD out of the factory speakers Good Fucking Times. Im constanlty flirting with the idea of picking up another one and building it to what i wanted back then but i have 3 90's Hondas that Im doing the same thing with hahahah They were sold new here and had been converted to RHD by the factory making them even rarer than in the US

Wow, memories. I had a 93 Probe GT and loved the car, loved the community. member of TXPOC for a long time. I blew the Auto trans with the AIT mod (gives you full power during 1-2 and 2-3 shift) and manual swapped it. gave me many years of problem free use. I was young and dumb and did a lot to it. gave great fuel milage and was one of the most comfortable cars I've had that I could put as many miles on at a time. I went back and forth from central Texas to SoCal 4-6 times a year. Wow, the memories i had in that car.

The 1993 ford probe GT with the 5/speed was actually faster than the SN95 GT of the same year. 15.5 quarter mile, and the mustang runs about the same. I've got one with a $500 Stainless steel borla exhaust and Cold air intake Only thing you need to watch out for is wiring issues and ignition problems. (which is why my wiring harness is out the car and the entire interior is sitting under my bed) Luckily i still live with my dad!

My first car! Bought my 89 Probe GT for 1100 and sold it for 600 a few years later back in the mid to late 90’s.

I LOVED the Probe as a teenager, just wish they finally made them RWD and/or AWD

A 1993 mustang didn't have a v6 but a 1994 145hp v6 mustang would very much not blow the door off a 160hp 1993 probe GT V6

Iirc at the time, the 1st gen Probe GT was faster than the mustang gt.

As an 89 probe guy, that white one has what we call porno red interior and it has the wrong wheels. They are not the stock 89gt wheel but the later 90-92 lx wheels.

My first car was an 94 mx6, awesome first car and probably wouldn't have gotten rid of it but the head gasket blew and turned itself into a 4 cylinder on my way home from work one day😅.

I had a 2.5 V6 ford probe, now I have a 1.8 97 celica, the probe was barely faster then the celica in a drag race but the celica gets way better gas mileage and performs better in twisty roads

Take the wing off the Orange Probe at the end, put damn near any other wheels on followed by lowering it an inch and it'd actually look like a solid 7/10 IMO. That orange color goes soo hard. I'm a sucker for 90's "Looks fast but ehhhh...' cars.

The probe gt with the manual was surprisingly quick, and they have a lot of aftermarket parts, I’ve had 3, the way they are geared helps with the lack of hps and the 93- 94 came with the higher compression Klze or something of that nature

first car was a 1990 gt probe the first gen 4cyl was turbo charged and made 145hp. got it for 750$ back seats were eaten by the sun at the head rests and the headliner was shot but the front seats and dash were great condition. Learned to drive stick on it. Sold it covered in bird shit for 500$

On that last one - the orange rear turn signals were only made on EU spec cars. In the states the rear turn signals for all second generation probes were red. (All first gens except 89 also - which had unique tail lights for that year only. ) Not saying it's legit, but there's evidence.

Orginal owner of a 1996 GT and it's funny you guys joking about a car the won sports car of the year in 1994 by Motor Trend. I was part of the street racing scene in the late 90's with this car and there is no way a 140hp V6 Mustang would beat a 164hp V6 Probe Gt...I know cause I raced them and V6 Camaro's along with 240sx none turbo RX-7..the Probe GT was a hell of a sports car with only the Honda Prelude giving it a run for its money in a straight line drag race but on the track the Probe would win even against the all wheel steering and SH models.

I like the gray probe in the beginning of the video its nice but I have never thought hmm let's trade my V8 Mustang/GTO/Trans Am etc. for a Probe... when looking for a cool car a Probe has never crossed my mind. Actually after watching this video a Probe still won't cross my mind in the future for a car to tune/work on or own for that matter.

The gts probe was a very low option production I think less than 500 made each year. But it was mostly a cosmetic package. The badges and stripes and all that crap

The flip up headlights are the Euro ones on that orange car, and the tail lights are Euro. Would be unlikely to parts swap. The American flip ups are pointy, Euros have an extra little piece in the front which you can see closed. So probably actually a Euro car.. There was a green one that claimed it had a KLZE, it did not have a KLZE. That is a stock KLDE with even the stock intake piping, airbox. Fully loaded, GT, manual, 93-94 (for all the options.) Lighted keyholes, heated mirrors, remote, factory sub, power antenna, inflatable bolster. Still weighs less than a notch Fox. 95+ they took the wiring out so it's much harder to add things. 96-97 They even took The "Probe" off the sideglass near the doors. The 4 cylinder 2nd gen ones share almost nothing with the GTs. Even the seats look similar but the GT seats you can stick your hand through. Oh and don't let a timing belt scare you, they're non-interference, 4 hours or so and it's done, no special tools.

The probe has room for a v8. It's basically a 1990 mira. Or a porche 924, 944. Just built in the 90s. Try to find a lighter car. Well the saturn 1992 sc2 coupe is smaller.
