Hey Robbie, if you are still looking for tailgate marker lights you can still buy them brand new. Truck-Lite 15408 and 15200R are the part numbers. I bought mine on Amazon. I'm a big fan of your channel, I love the quality of your videos.
Oh hell yeah, Smokey is BACK! Can't wait to see this beauty get built back up. Excellent choice on the bumper selection, really like those aswell. This and UBTK5 are my favs.
I've driven those old military CUCV's with the diesels back in my military days. 3 speeds of NOISE! The brush guard and rear bumper will look awesome on your truck.
Need some papis sweet patina sauce on the unit! That ticking seems to be valvetrain related but you can’t rule out a strange exhaust noise if the system is all cobbled together.
Good to see Smokey back & the CUCV bumpers, brush guard & tow hooks are really gonna compliment the look! Can't wait! Any chance of a 2nd run of Smokey tees?
I bet theres a loose bracket or something. Check your torque converter dust cover bolts an brackets . Aluminum ones strip out on the support bracket bolts . Love that truck. Ive got a all original 79 srw crew k30 as well . Later man
Glad to see this back. I have a 1991 V3500 SRW crew that was an Air Force/DCNR truck with the 4L80E. I have a 6.0 LS for it and looking forward to see what you do with this. BTW I put a big front bumper on it from a brush truck.
I was just watching the latest Milford Bros video. There was a dually in a background shot that had those tailgate marker lights you were looking for. Maybe they have some they're willing to part with! Good Luck, from down here in Statesboro, Gawga!
I know with all the mechanical inclined people you run around with, all y’all might already know this trick. Pour some marvel mystery oil i it and run it. Sitting up for a long time can be harsh on lifters. Just don’t run it too long or you’ll wipe the cam lobes if it doesn’t clear up. A little ATF in the oil will do it good also. I’m probably preaching to the choir and some might say I’m crazing but it does work a lot of times. But hey cool square and the color is awesome!
Man we tried that. Hoping it would work. And replaced a bad lifter. We’ll sort it out. I love the truck it’s worth the time, effort, money. Thanks for watching!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Oh I recently rebuilt my dads truck. 1982 3/4 ton. Grew up riding in the truck. First truck I ever drove. Took my drivers license test in it. Drove it to high school. My father passed away 3 years ago and it was sitting in the barn for 15 years not running. He left it to me. Trust me I understand. I’m 35 now and the truck hasn’t left the family since it was new. Ain’t nothing like a square!
Hey guys! Thanks for sharing this video. That's one beautiful truck you got there. That ticking sound could be a leaky exhaust manifold gasket. That happened to me once.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS No way!! Really? I must say, I feel quite honored that I could give you guys some useful information. I'm glad you located the problem & thanks again for the fantastic content. You guys are an inspiration to so many of us!
Pretty crazy how I been watching your show for a few months and maybe last week I started to get my pops c35 Dually back on the road and here you are a week later posting a video about reviving a 30 too
The only thing that would make that truck cooler is if was mine. I love those old forestry trucks. I have an 89 R3500 crew dually square 2wd would love to have a crew in a 4wd.
Definitely following this one Robbie. I have the 91 GMC R3500 dually flavor. Sweet truck! You wouldn't happen to have another set of drip rails sitting around would you?
I’m 100% sure I saw Smokey on an episode of faster with finnegan last night. Older episode of course. The one where they were trying to wheelie the motor home. Is that Smokey in the episode?
Robbie initially I thought the carrier bearing was bad but saw you replaced it something I remember about the noise is on the exhaust manifold is there a flapper type of deal on it I remember those giving the effect of a ticking lifter but I don’t know if you have that on there just something I remembered from my younger days being a issue with those trucks and motors!!!????
Those tbi motors didn't make a lot power. In my opinion they were one of the most reliable motors gm has ever made. You see a lot of non LS swapped early (90-93) OBS trucks still on the road. I say keep it OG that motor still has some life left in it for sure.
If you know for sure it's a lifter, try a gt. of auto. trans. fluid in the engine. I have done this many times for chevy lifter noise and has worked great.
Hey I'm from Alabama.and could give me the address. Of the guy who did all that do the 1974 Chevy/10....aka Mississippi mud..I need a light restoration on my 1982 swb Silverado Thanks.
Picked up a 82 C10 for my wife. Been doing some work to it and have been watching your videos. Reached out to that_ventwindow_guy to check on rebuilding mine. Learned about that on your interview with Rocky and his stepside. Excellent content. Liked and subscribed. Keep it up!!
