Nah Toothy is just working hard to achieve his dream to make a human battery farm like the machines did in The Matrix movie. Its gonna be a messed up version but a least he's trying to keep it original.
Holy shit. This is some nightmare fuel. Imagine being captured and stuffed into an air-equipped body bag, only for the body bag to break down along with you inside of it.
And being aware it's happening. The art shows how the bags have artificial lungs and kidneys to attach to you as those organs fail to keep you alive longer.
@@NakedAvangernah, it literally show that the person is put into a coma, then woken up during the process of literally breaking down, being fully aware, the description and art state all that
@@wyatt5305the person is broken down though, the bag isn't? Original comment said both were being broken down, but the bags remain intact and get dropped
Now I finally understand the reveal trailer. At first I thought it's some sort of a grinder device, where he just puts enemies and it grinds them, hence the bones and body parts falling out of it. But he was actually removing the remains of an old and used victim, to make place for the new, fresh one.
I love the thought of a rouge mech that doesn’t care about anything but getting more bio-matter so he can become immortal; all scavs and soldiers from both sides have nightmares of this being appearing on the field near them, practicing quickly drawing their sidearms and aiming it at themselves in case they ever came across this monstrosity.
@@quadratic7578I mean, I can understand why. While that thing may be a mech, it’s still _one_ mech compared to the other side that has plenty more mechs and then some
@@quadratic7578 If its smart fast or stealthy enough to avoid fights that it cant win it wouldnt be worth hunting down after all its only picking off soliders not mechs or anything really valuable to the machine minds in charge. Of course the soliders themselves would care alot and might even put together hunting teams or hire scavs to try to stop it
@@killerhellhound I don't imagine toothy being all that stealthy unless it's making use of some matrix style giga sewer system to get around. It also went out of its way to snag anti armor weapons so I think it would absolutely be looking at tanks and mechs like cans of Veinna sausages.
the animal like mech that charges at you in the trailer looked interesting too. also those giant cyborgs with anime faces look like they’d be from blame
Smart immersive dark future apocalypse science fiction, this feels so good. Thanks for continuing the showcases. Crossing my fingers Forever Winter succeeds.
unlikely Its relying entirely on having an interesting setting, which it does well. The Jank(TM) is very clearly present in all of their trailers, and its the frustrating kind, not the charming european variety.
It is so good to hear more about the elements of the game, when I first saw tooty I thought it was a piloted mech, maybe a command variant or the like, but it being an A.I. and out and about looking for a snack is both a bit commical and very ingenious. 😂 The scavs are both human and machine, just not looking for the same thing in dirt.
I like the idea of finding Toothy's old bags and salvaging inorganic weapons/ammo/etc. Nothing says "scavenger" more than picking at a larger predator's leavings.
Doesn't make a lot of sense - Toothy is just as much of opportunistic scavenger as us so he doesn't engage anyone outright, and is only interested in infantry that is cheap and disposable so no faction would be bothered by few infantrymen being picked off and turned into dripfeed packets.
@@battlekid6177or trick them. Like create enough noise to lure a big group of em over to toothy. Now sit back. And crack open a cold one. If you're lucky enough to be far away from the gun fight.
I can imagine some kind of drone/weather event being another thing that can happen. Some kind of rampant bioweapon would probably fit as well. And finally, I can imagine something that was part of the natural ecosystem which adapted to the hellscape of the battlefield. Ravenous roach-swarms or something.
This is a good example of a game that have all the chances to be a huge success, without the "suits" that hinder the creative/ art process in big AAA companies, because they lead by reading statistics and money cash quantity by other companies/games. I hope you guys follow the example of STALKER/or Fallout series, and make the game easy to be molded...as mods will give the game a very long life, and a lot of players will still buy it even after many years after launch .
I love the idea that there are one off constructs or enemies that you might bump into out in the field that are not a part of any faction but could be either super helpful or super dangerous
this world feels like if district 9, armored core and resident evil had a baby while the player is just a helpless, homeless, junkie looking for water and weapons to survive.... I dig it
At the risk of sounding like that guy, I think you would expend more energy than you could get by "harvesting" bio matter in this fashion. Especially if you are wasting energy on keeping the victim alive. Certainly, you would not get enough to power what I presume is a multi-ton robot with a particle accelerator.
Yeah, that's the same thing as matrix. Humans are terribly energy-inefficient. Why bother using "bioelectricity"? I've got a feeling that the lore of this game is not gonna hold up too well, because it seems to be trying to be grimdark for the sake of being grimdark
@@dedbolt6339That's true, but this is a post-resource war where all that's left is scrap and rotting flesh. We've exhausted all typical sources of fuel, large scale energy infrastructure is fractured etc. It's out of neccesity. But, yeah, unrealistic. With current technology anyways.
@@maxtheawesome4255 still, out of all the options available they've switched to the least efficient one. It's like choosing to purposefully waste extra resources. I know why this decision was made by the creators - for artist effect. On the other hand, instead of making me think "how horrible this is!", they make me go "how stupid this is!" And not just that, but the whole premise of "resources" running out is absurd. Innovation never stops, and so doesn't recycling. Claiming that resource will run out is like being in 1800s and saying that because whales are running out, we'll no longer have lubrication for machinery or lighting. Yet, we still have those and we no longer need it. Far more, the *effective* stock of resources is ever increasing: we can do more with the same amount of resources than we could've 100 years ago. Why build your game's world on such an absurd premise? It just makes things ridiculous
@@dedbolt6339 I think that it harvests bio-electricity to merely power prisoner's own life support, but breaking down their body is where the energy for the mech actually comes from. Bio-electricity is inefficient, yes, but bio reactors - according to Einstein I think? - were said to be incredibly power efficient. (Because mass-energy is a thing, therefore biomass = tons of energy, as you need tons of energy to make mass in the first place.)
@dedbolt6339 seems like they heard about EATR from the joe Rogan podcast and did not bother to look into how it actually works, or are just making it grim dark to be grim dark.
Hand on heart this isn't an ad for the game. I actually emailed them to ask if I could have access to the upcoming closed beta and was invited to have a chat once they looked at my channel. I thought why not and I made this from the chat. It has been quite the interesting experience.
Wonder if they will also have an enemy that’s the exact opposite of Toothy where it will avoid/ignore organics and Will instead prioritize technology and high end equipment, making well equipped players(and other factions) likely targets while letting lower end Scavs and Humans walk by.
I somehow felt that this is Kai Lim's/Ukitakumuki's handy work, the art/design etc. was stoked when he posted the trailer and said he was part of the main team. Been a fan of his work since deviantary heydays
There were some Front Mission vibes for me in the mecha. Glad to know I wasn't crazy. Good thing, BTW. FM does a great job with their mechs. Toothy is def a terrifying prospect. Nice insight.
What Toothy reminds me off is the Tabernacle by Keith Thompson- a somewhat rogue "mech" that works as a mercenary in exchange for food and water for it's pilot, a pilot who's litterally entoombed inside of it, lacking limbs and being integrated with the machine. In the short story of the thing Thompson mentioned that the machine is revered like a saint and feared by many, one person getting "broken on the wheel" by the devotees for trying to break it open to save the pilot (or at leat give them final rest). In the story it's never stated who's in controll of the Tabernacle- it being up in the air if it's the autonomous systems keeping the pilot and the mech running or the pilot still having controll and "enjoyng the power" of being reveared god, or something in between a meld of near dead man and a machine that supposed to keep them alive and safe on the killing fields.
Forever winter has a fascinating universe to me, yea “terminator/matrix” inspired, but It has horrifying twist and dark elements to it. I respect the creators for creativity
The game looks very promising, but what I would really like is a story mode. When the video game is released, I would like to know how humans got to that point in that post-apocalyptic and very scary world.
Cant wait to play this, just months ago I heard more about this game and were already so close to early access, love that there's just a random a.i that just appears to destroy everyone
Can't wait for game to drop and see what end game weapons and equipment available. Still can only guess if a sort of boss monster like Toothy can ever be beaten it's with a squad of friends with RPGs or cannons. Like to see things as big as an HCAR used or .338 Machineguns.
I remember seeing the initial CG trailer months back and kept my eye on it but only recently watched the gameplay trailer and thought I would ask the devs some questions about the game. They have been really open to discussing the project with me which has been cool.
@@CriticalRocket yeah toothy has a specific design of AC from Armored Core V/Verdict Day, little question are there other automatons that are similar to toothy but has a complete different build?
Given the infamy a thing like this must have being part of no team, it is probably extremely strong to keep staving off the bounties it has on its head. Bossfight?
Is this a fully sentient, independent AI driving it? If so, I foresee players dropping the whole neutrality act and actively siding with whatever remains of humanity there is.
Hi friend could you plesse tell dev team that the best translation for "WARNING" on the plastic bags instead of "ПРЕДУПРЕЖДЕНИЕ" they should use "ВНИМАНИЕ" - it is the linguistically correct way to write these kind of warnings in Russian and uses less letters - more aesthetically pleasant, similar to english text.
The explanation they give is "if you see the game though gun sights, you get entirely the wrong idea what what you should be doing" Third person also means you can see problems around you, and you need that. It is much more about avoiding combat than being in combat.
@@myrryr1 Their game, their opinion, but it's BS imo. I watched the 13mn gameplay video and it could be first person all along, even better without that huge character blocking 1/3 of what's going on on screen. It's funny they reduce "first person" to "shooting game" like it's 2005, and don't want their game classified as such when most of the footage they showed is shooting gameplay... and tbh their third person camera is already the most "third-person-SHOOTER" camera ever. Making it third person only is just a waste of work. Just give us both and let us switch between first and third person.
@@Jun_GL Personally.... I would prefer a toggle in the settings :) I'd leave it in 3rd person, but I would love it if the people who did want to first person it up, could do so. Which, I note is the same thing you want to! There is a solution, and I think there is a good chance they will do so.
This Game. It’s like a Time Traveller came back from our Future, told his story and the creator sworn to secrecy assured him, “I GOT THIS.” This game sends me training for our future vibes. TOOTHY alone is not a normal game name for a character that’s out to destroy you, and the fact that it’s an AI, that’s some real life experience. All in all I can’t wait to play it. Oh man but it’s chilling to think about.
