You are correct... I think the gov't needs to prioritize tourism on the Caribbean side... It woul surely flourish if marketed.... The really don't try....

There have been efforts to make it more accessible but in a way, people have pushed back from those efforts. The reason being that the lack of roads to Livingston have kept it safe. Crime and thief's don't go to Livingston because it's not easy to get in or get out. Livingston has almost no crime. I remember being 13 years old and walking with my friends at 3 am. around town without being mugged or anything. Also, tourists would be walking around town without any fear of violence and crime.

@@wallaceduarte7020 makes sense what you’re saying, however i think they should at least open an airport on that side of the country. People don’t wanna have to spend 5-8 hours driving just to get there when they already barely have any vacation days and are already traveling to get to Guate

I have no found any other place in the world that makes That Pan de Coco like they make it in Puerto Barrios! The fresh seafood oh Lord. I agree with you 100%. The development of Puerto Barrios, Santo Tomas and Livingston starts with an autopiste to the GUA City. The current road infrastructure is insufficient and tourism would flourish under the right conditions. Blessings my brother from Queens.

Hot for 2 mins and then ice cold 🥶…. Puerto Barrios is a hidden gem of sorts….. In 20 years, I think it will grow into a destination…. I am going to come out with the tourists’ guide to Guatemala soon but to answer your question I use Google maps as a tool. Go into Google.com and type “hotels in Guatemala City” in the search bar and then review all options… It will give you different travel sites to book your reservation with… I also use the Google.com/flights tool. If you want to fly around domestically in Guatemala you will have to use TAG Airlines… They don’t post to Google flights yet. Uber works in the the central areas of Guatemala…. If you have time, def visit El Salvador too 🔥🔥🔥

@@justice4all997 I got you So there’s actually two ways Fly into Guatemala City and then take the morning flight to PBR Airport Or Fly into Guatemala City airport and take an Uber to Litegua bus terminal…. Litegua will take you on a shuttle to the bigger bus station on the outskirts of the city where the big… full size bus all the way to PBR will be…. It’s a grueling ride…. Enjoy it though

Excellent choice…. Litegua seems to be the only reliable operator in and out of town…. They run buses roughly once and hour to hour and a half… They will bring you in a minibus from the city center to the cities’ edge and they you will transfer to a large bus…. There is no legitimate highway so the trip is long…. Bring water and a snack…. The flight is quick but TAG only runs one flight a day.

@@KeenanLambert198Litegua has bee running for over 60 years is the most reliable ground transportation to Puerto Barrios they used to make one stop for lunch way back in the day ! Thee are other buses running that way as well but not as reliable . Or if you rather fly instead! Amatique bay is the place to stay ( maybe be pricey but it is worth it and Hotel del Norte is the best is as good, this Hotel has been there for over 100 years, always book in advance) Dollar use to be accepted as currency back in the days when the Quetzal used to be 1 to 1 with Dollar, slots machines were all over they run on American currency! Always be careful of you surroundings as any city in the world ! Enjoy the Caribbean foods if you get a chance. Tapado (Seafood dish) Rice & Beans, Pan de Coco etc. Enjoy
