Seventeen was supposed to have a very different line-up originally! So what happened to the 4 members who ended up leaving the group prior to their debut? Follow us on Instagram: bit.ly/3NWCjW1 #kpop #kpopnews #KOOKIELIT
Samuel got me into kpop, it's so sad that he left, but i was more sadder that his father died after being killed by his friend, thank God that he's getting better and going to start singing again
If Jang doyoon wouldn’t have left back then, he would’ve been the leader. Which is unimaginable for me. Scoups is a great leader, he loved the group so much that he didn’t leave even after such a long trainee period. I don’t want to criticise others it’s just that current Seventeen is beautiful.
Samuel is never forgotten, I feel bad that his mother didn’t allow him to debut with the rest of the boys but I get her he was very young at the time but at the same time she allowed him to be a trainee at that age. Samuel and the rest of seventeen are thankfully still friends, coups even went to see him during Produce 101 and they said that they are still in touch with each other. Samuel was doing great but he kinda shut off after what happened to his father. Hopefully he is happy and doing well
But it still threw me off because his mom suddenly let him debut in that duo? I thought he left because he is too young to debut in seventeen yet he still debut earlier than the boys. But of course his mom knows what's the best for him.
SVT was just destined to be OT13, i saw glimpses of the guys mentioned her in "The Green Room" but never got interested in any of them, and Samuel was just a fetus back then so its unthinkable he would've been allowed to debut so young
Shin Dongjin is currently a backup dancer for AB6IX. There are other rumours that he’s now a trainee under KQ Entertainment, the label that ATEEZ is under, apparently.
@@Riririririz I think it was the other one but I'm not sure. I would be surprised that carats allowed him to get even one foot in the door to this industry if he had.
If doyoon is the actor you are talking abt since I didn’t watch this video let me tell you during predebut he was so popular among the members he thought svt will flop and he can be famous if he becomes an actor and then when he saw svt getting famous and his acting career flopped he auditioned to be idol and then failed and now hes behind bl dramas so he could get famous since bl is getting famous. If you are talking abt actor minkyu then its all good he was just training with svt members not a predebut member
Nah, even just watching his photos that Doyoon wouldn't be a good leader for SVT and surely wouldn't be able to become the General leader of SVT and Carats. I'm glad that we have SVT with our 13 members, they are perfect and that's just a match made in heaven
The members were meant to be, that is Seventeen is Seventeen, good luck to the others who didn't make it, success will come to you if you work hard, have the talent and with a little bit of luck you need to be successful
@@gabsterella4377 I think this was never meant to be offensive. I also think the 13 members that we have right now are meant to be the SEVENTEEN. I can never imagine not having Jeonghan and Minghao as they were recruited later or can't imagine having another person aside from the 13 of them in the group.
You are an armycarat right? I expect no less from you guys. You bring toxicity everywhere and ruin other fandoms too. The way you speak ill about other people is definitely not something a carat does. Learn about carats please and be like them and then join us otherwise just be an army and listen to svt song. Don't call yourself a carat. A literal shame you guys bring everywhere you are
I still feel really sad for Kim Samuel. He is really talented but didn't debut with seventeen, which made him not to be as popular as them. I am happy he may come back again, but it feels sad that he doesn't get the attention he deserves
I don’t think he would’ve been able to debut in the same group as seventeen anyways due to the age difference, he was wayyy to young back then, even Dino’s age was young enough to join the next group
Man time flies.. I was 13 years old back when I was watching the seventeen diary’s and remember those members. Now I’m 23 lol damn. But it’s been fun to see seventeen grow!
Now the title is very wrong. how are they “forgotten members of seventeen” when they were never official members of svt? They were just trainees who left. not members at all. the svt members became official members when they were given their rings.
Who'd have MingMing's luck? Can't say he didn't try but his idol career seems doomed. And Seventeen has the perfect mix and number of members, so however they were formed, they got it right.
@@cupcakeflower161 Just the run up to what he's doing now, all the shows and groups disbanding seemed to go wrong for him. I wish him luck in whatever he's doing now, but it's not been an easy path
as a fan of them since predebut, im just really satisfied with the current lineup of seventeen. samuel and mingming are the one that makes me feel regretful by their departure, thats why until now i still check them out occasionally. also i do need svt to make more diss track like wally or sukyo but nowdays they prefer to make it about themselves (which i also like)
Seeing the reasons or the rumours behind the 4 leaving SVT, I'm glad they left... Or else I don't believe that they'd stay in the group for long even if they debuted. We all know that SEVENTEEN really struggled in their early years. I don't think the other 4 would thrive... (I included Samuel cause even if he was willing to struggle together with the members, his mum won't let him because he was too young)
agree, i know a lot of people like samuel even wished him can be part of svt as additional member, but no. cuz i cant imagine if dino isn't seventeen's maknae, like even tho he's not my ult bias but for me dino is the best maknae svt could have
I still have a soft spot for the boys, but it's hard to imagine svt any other way than the official 13. Also pledis training system might also have played a part. I remember some of the members talking about how harsh it was and only the trainees who could withstand it and stayed ended up debuting.
Okay, let's take a moment to appreciate that these four individuals are not part of SVT. The dynamic among the 13 members is remarkable. Considering the hardships they endured during their trainee days, persevering through being relatively unknown or least popular idols for many years in S.Korea, yet consistently delivering hit songs and amazing choreos with each comeback, truly exemplifies their resilience. This shows their unwavering dedication. If the other three (excl. Samuel) had debuted with Seventeen, they likely wouldn't have endured for long, and the group dynamic might not have been the same. As Shin PD mentioned, all 13 of them have worked tirelessly as idols, treating it not just as a fleeting step in the industry, but as a genuine career.
i am happy that the members we have now r the members cause i couldnt picture anyone else in seventeen it would be so weird to see someone else as the leader but gd luck on the three guys and we all know samuel so yh that my take
The things is at no time were there were 17 members. On left, one arrived, one left another arrived. It doesnt seem like there was ever going to be 17 members. Calling them forgotten members of seventeen is wrong then. Maybe "trainees that could have debut as seventeen".
She a mother of course she was going to support her child and when she realized that the company is shiitty she decided to get him back I don't blame her
Its not a thing to get piss about.. Ohk i get it that we all were wishing him to debut but again being a trainee at 11 is completely different from being an idol at 11
I am not pissed off about that but the statement is hypocrisy. Too young to debut in seventeen so lets debut him even before seventeen. Shouldn't have just used that reason.
actually if you see the state of pledis at the time, its really reasonable if she pulled him out not to mention with that financial problem pledis insist to debut big group. like out of all the group with 10+ members that exist its only from big BIG company that success. its just she choosed bad agency that mistreat his own son :)
Here's the thing, there was never a time in Seventeen's predebut history when they had 17 guys in the line up. They were called Seventeen since the moment they were announced and their show premiered as 17TV and at the time they were only 11 members. And since then, the line up changed 7-8 times and throughout all those changes there never was a single time when Seventeen actually had 17 members. In the end, they did have 4 guys who were part of the pre-debut line up at one point or another, making a total of 17 guys who were known to have been in consideration for the group, but again, never at the same time. Honestly, people need to drop the whole "there used to be Seventeen but some left before debut" reasoning because it's not entirely true. Yes the 4 guys were part of their predebut history but they're not who made Seventeen who they are today. Seventeen debuted with 13 members, 3 units, as 1 team and to this day they are exactly that. The 13 members that we know ARE who made Seventeen. The fact that we're going in to the groups' 9th year and people are still bringing up the predebut members as if they are Seventeen, idk, it just feels unfair to the 13 guys who've worked hard to make a name out of Seventeen. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should erase Samuel, Mingming, Dongjin, and Doyoon from history or never talk about them, because they themselves deserve to do what they love and achieve their dreams too. Idk how to explain it, I just never seen people so fixated on a group's predebut line up and members the way they do with Seventeen. Like, people don't go around calling (G)Idle's Miyeon a "former BlackPink member" because she was part of the group predebut but ultimately didn't debut with them.
the only person I would have liked to see in svt from these is samuel because he didn‘t leave on his own, he was just too young and I understand his mother eitger way to get him out there. I think some familys were already close at that time so Idk if taking him out had to do with pledis financial situation. The oldest I didn‘t have sympathy for even before this video. He left, probably setting them back and leaving them betrayed as someone who was going to be their leader.
@kai-ov6sb i'm the one who's weird or the people crying over so called 'members' who voluntarily left over 10 years ago. the 13 of them who did debut took a huge risk to be where they are today, faced so much by the company, spent years just waiting for the debut date in total uncertainty in a broke, mismanaged company. and the ones who didn't weren't forced to leave, no use crying over spilled milk.
i cant believe THIS is how i find out samuel is finally gonna have a comeback 😭 i've liked him ever since produce 101 and was so mad when he was rigged out of the final lineup! i followed his solo career all the way to 'one' and 'teenager', watched that one chinese show he was on with jun and the8, watched his drama, and then suddenly all of the drama with brave happened, his dad was murdered and it's been more or less quiet around him ever since 😭i cant believe hes finally coming back from the basement 😭
I've always wondered if there is an agency policy that prevents former trainees from reapplying. Samuel did not debut with the group, so is it impossible for Pledis to take him back? And since Pledis is now under Hybe, can Samuel audition under any subsidiary companies like Pledis? So many questions...
Wow that's actually so interesting, I think in life we all can see moments like that when one different choice would had change our lives, I love to know about the lore of big groups like Seventeen it's always fascinating to me.
He is also the one who said svt would flop and he went to acting and flopped then auditioned again snd flopped now hes looking for popularity by acting in bl
@@svt_luv5334 I mean what he said in the past isn't ok. Like what he said to Seventeen was rude. But like Seventeen has moved on and he has too so in my opinion we shouldn't stay hung up on it. Like not making excuses for what he said but still y'know? I hope he has learned from it and I hope he has grown as a person but he did a good job in sing my crush and y'know what if he became famous because of bl that's good for him 🤷♀️
@@chibi-chan2194 sweetie he was their leader and supposed to guide them and bring them together but being popular among the members got into his head that he left them imagine how svt would have felt when he said they will flop anyway yah whatever let him gain his long lost predebut popularity with his bl drama
Well to be honest at that time Samuel was way too young, he was either 10 or 11 yrs old which made his mother pull him out but I do wonder what could have happened if Samuel did Debut in Seventeen
I still think the real reason is because she didn't think the group would be successful. Because he ended debuting somewhere else even before SVT debuted.
this! Because pledis was almost bankrupt at that time, most people would think SVt won't be able to debut or even if they do, without much opportunity will become just one of the group of 100. That's the most plausible cause or why she would pull samuel saying he is too young to debut and then let him debut even before svt. @@13plus3plus1
If you're bl fan you would know who is jang doyoon. he's from "sing my crush" bl drama oh god i just came to know today tht he was about to debut with seventeen
It’s so weird cause I used like watching Samuels dramas and I didn’t even know what kpop was at the time. And now years later I like seventeen and just found out his ass was gonna be in seventeen.
Oh I knew few things but not in such detail!~ Kinda curious tho, did they get the wrong picture of TEMPEST here? I feel like they used the 2022 TEMPEST pictures here. Also the way they were mentioning Seungcheol and Jihoon being part of TEMPEST felt like they are mentioning totally different people and not S.Coups and Woozi haha. Also random fun fact, I recently got to know that apparently Actor Kim Mingue had trained for like a month or so with Seventeen before he realized he is more interested in perusing acting I think.
Ya they used the wrong TEMPEST picture xD the TEMPEST in the photo is a whole other group that is unrelated to Pledis Boys. The original PLEDIS TEMPEST was S.Coups, Woozi, Doyoon and 2 other boys (Yoosang & Youngwon who left before 17TV aired)
That's not true. MingMing left by himself, most trainees thought they won't debut after some point, which is understandable since Pledis was not a big company and was not that great in managing trainees and idols. If they had Xenophobia why would they select a Chinese member again?
BTW I'm actually fan of Kim Samuel, I even watched his kdrama Revenge note 2, he's just wow! I even watch his video now, he sings Justin songs so nicely! He looks so good, don't know why he's not famous Love you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Samuel
Samuel was one of my favorite biracial idols. When I first learned that he is half-Mexican, I was happy to see a half latino representing themselves in the Kpop industry because I am one too, despite how racist and colorist some Koreans are towards the Latino community. He could try to have a Spanish music career and star in telenovelas if he wanted to, so he can represent himself in both industry, it might also boost up his success further.
I became Samuel’s fan after I watched Produce 101 season 2 and Sweet Revenge season 1 series!❤ But I think the reason for Samuel is that Samuel was too young to debut with Seventeen at that time!
There's no denial that pledis is a shitty company . Very great at sabotaging their own idols and also extremely poor management and security but they did a great job in assembling these 13 beautiful people . Seventeen is what seventeen made themselves . But the extreme psychological , physical hurdles fhey went through to prove themselves is really heartbreaking . The fact that after school , nuest , pristin all were monster rookies but had to disband because of their management sends chills down my spine.
he’s just one of the hundreds probably and then left early, the boys said there were a ton of trainees but a ton left fast as well because of how hard the training was
It would be cool if seventeen have 17 members. But I think ot13 would be betther. (no hate) . I am sorry if there is enything wrong. (spelling and writeing) ...
No ur Defo right. One of these members was an asshole with svt and said they were gonna flop, and the other two are definitely not strong enough to stay with svt. Minus Samuel but svt wouldn’t be svt without being 13 so ig it’s good.
OG KPop fans still remember when the news came out that Pledis plans to form a group that is similar to SJ.. SJ was a 13 member boy group then Henry and Zhou Mi came in and was part of the SJ sub-group SJ-M, thus making them 15-member boy group.. Pledis trying to make it as a 17 member boy group. But hey, SVT is now one of the hottest idol group..
6:32 I was pretty sure I'd seen Jang Doyoon somewhere before and I realised he was the lead in the korean BL drama I've watched recently called 'Sing My Crush'
Seventeen member’s future was really blurry back then… these 13 boys were destined to be tgt. Aside from Samuel, I’ve only heard the other trainees during Nu’est debut and Happy Pledis but then why do I feel like those who didn’t make it was quite problematic??
I kinda don't like the other 2 except for Samuel and Mingming. Those two got on my bad side when I heard about what they did/said. :/ But still, I can't imagine SEVENTEEN without the 13 members or with anyone else aside from the 13 of them. TT^TT It was meant to be. I wish the others well tho, especially Samuel and Mingming, and may they reach their dreams.
AND now we know, 17 is supposed to be 13. I thought Minghao and Mingming has met before that show because before they join 17TV members have training sessions so they have met at the moment . and Hao was the fan of 17TV, so he knew Mingming. I know the 4 of them.. and i know that Carat just can accept Miming and Samuel as 17' brothers...
@@Svtrighthere2019 as someone who ults seventeen and didn’t know him until this show it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. I enjoyed the show, so I figured I’d recommend it 🤷🏻♀️ (also calling people “losers” is kind of childish we should be adults)
@@arcadeamber ahhh yes thank you for being an adult and I’ll stick to being childish and continue supporting svt while not supporting someone who shit on svt for absolutely no reason.
I have no idea why i think such things But isn't 17 members To much and Then we have nct with 26 yeah i nearly lost my mind when i found out how many members nct has
Baby Samuel left the group since he was too young 😢 watching their pre debut seventeen member babying him it hurts they could've been together but I understand the mother choice😢
