When was the last time they helped a struggling family pay their rent, it was always done on a personal basis between two people and nothing from the actual organization. They cause fear and anxiety if they don't give their money to them. The witness people are normally very sweet people from my experience, and I feel bad they're being taken advantage of.
Years ago back in the early 2000s after mom and dad passed away we sold the farm and the elders came looking for their you might as well say 1/10 of the sales from the farm and The Farmhouse and when we told them no my brother and I we lost our privileges at the hall yeah it's all about money
Over 20 years ago the elder weirdos lost the privilege of setting on my couch, after rebuking me for not giving" Brooklyn" it's due "worship"! They got 10 seconds to get passed my front door before I planted my boot in their ass!
As An Aussie, I had to laugh at the backdrop. Apparently, the remote Outback has far more people and generates far more night time light than the coasts, which have 95% of the population living on them. What a crock. They don't need money. They need geography lessons... Also, talk about the kind of arrogant incompetence that I don't think that Jesus would have liked. I live in poverty, but have, over the course of my life, forgiven thousands of dollars of loans that I made to people who could no longer afford to repay. Indeed, I have a philosophy that if I give people money, it won't come back to me. It makes life easier and creates less stress for everybody. PS. I have similar problems with my cats, when I try to create content. I feel your pain... 😸😸😸
@@vusimngomezulu2500 No. Each individual church is made up of the only true believers and the rest are at best sinners and at worst satan's mates. Quantum theology. A bit like Schrodinger's cat. Everyone is both 100% correct and 100% wrong at the same time! 🤣
@@vusimngomezulu2500 No. There are literally NO people on earth who "follow the Bible". It is a book that contains content written at the earliest 1000 BCE (although the "Song of Deborah", could be 200 years earlier). However, it was greatly redacted during the Post-Exilic period to give us the Jewish take on the Persian Monotheistic god, Zoroaster. Its latest parts are the various epistles of the New Testament, many of which date to the second century CE. It is completely contradictory. For example, there are, IIRC, three versions of the "Ten Commandments", none of which actually contain only ten commandments. Just compare protestant and catholic versions of the Bible to see the difficulty they have with getting ten verses each with a Traditional "commandment". It also contains and condones many things that are anathema to modern civilization, like slavery and genocide. It mentions abortion only once and this is with approval, as it allows for a husband, who thinks his wife has cheated to take her to the priests, so they can mix up a concoction, that will abort the baby. Despite this, anti-abortion sentiment is a key component of most Christian's worldview, because they think, incorrectly, that the Bible is against it. The Trinity is not mentioned once in the Bible, yet is a Fundamental of 99% of Christian beliefs. Add to this, the many outright contradictions, which mean that irrespective of which path you chose (justice, or mercy?), you'll find that some passages support your view, while others do not. Basically, the Bible is a collection of Books (66 all up, with 27 being found in the Old Testament), written by different writers from different cultures, with different audiences and different purposes. Isaiah was actually making a prophecy to warn King Ahaz and this prophecy was done and dusted a few pages later. The key word in this section of Hebrew text is "Almah", which means "young woman" (they had another different word for virgin), and the way it is written indicates that the woman is already pregnant at the time of Isaiah's writing. However, Matthew and Luke needed the Messiah to be able to compete alongside other miraculous figures of the ancient world, where virgin births and being raped by gods was a fairly normal origin story, so they used it. They were also using the This is why even though Isaiah 7:14 doesn't even mention a virgin, the supposed Virgin Birth is a big part of the New Testament tradition. Basically, without a shit-ton of cognitive dissonance, any genuine attempt to comprehend the Bible as a single, wholistic document is going to end in disaster. Much like any attempt to be Christ's "followers according to the Bible". Basically, if it were really the "Word of GOD", it would be precisely one phrase long: Do unto others, as THEY would have you do unto THEM.
My oldest sister joined the witnesses 4 years back or so. She was really pushing hard for me to check it out. I was open to the idea until through talking with her I realized....they don't believe Jesus is God...even denying he died and was raised from the dead. This concept just nullifies his work on earth and actually purpose of the Bible. It is a different gospel. After that conversation she really got distant.
Hi Wally and Zeezy, I don't think witnesses even pay attention to these talks, they just clap when everyone else does. If they really listened they could see through the bs.
Remember Yearbooks? I remember a sister telling me that I shouldn't go get one because they were expensive to make and I hadn't donated enough. She was constantly watching people and the donation box. Disgusting...
@@greyberet1, There was a time when you didn't have to pay for literature at the literature counter; that was before the Greedy Eight took over. It is my understanding that now you not only are made to pay for it, if you place it in field service you are expected to put whatever was "contributed" in the KH contribution box! What a racket!
@@outtadarkness1970 I’m a raised-in exjw from Montreal, canada and I don’t remember a time when we didn’t have to pay for any literature! Maybe it was different where you live…? And, yes, not only did we have to pay for the magazines that we “placed”, we were also supposed to drop the money that we received for them into the contribution box. Rutherfraud was right, it’s a racket 😂!
@@greyberet1, I have found the "rules" were not evenly applied from country to country or lacale to locale, for that matter. I am in the US and attended and was a publisher in three different states. Most of the congratulations had families that were reasonably affluent, maybe that played into it? I left in 2000 after spending 33+ years in. I. Have. Not. Missed. It!
It seems now every update or broadcasting is about begging for money or your valuables. The poor old bethelites giving a few pennies is shameless, also sad because when they become sick, or too old, they'll be discarded like an old Kleenex 🥺
I don't think it's right that a person has to take a vow of poverty like the Catholic priests do just for a dangerous cult, then get kicked out into the "satanic" world being too old to get a job, no where to live, and the gb doesn't even care while saying they love you. 🤮
They don't get enough and their family back home has to help support them financially, even tho they are also having to give to JW WWW for building, etc.
Wow, this is super upsetting! They are selling kingdom halls left and right... Why can't people see that the ORG is using them to build and make profit?
It’s not all that different from how Mormons all do a bunch of data entry for Jesus when they do their family history work and the church profits from the documents they digitize and transcribe.
I think watchtower realizes that they are in for a very rough road of lawsuits in the decades to come so I believe they're trying to build up the funds while they can and property values are high.
The kingdom hall I used to go was sold recently, it was easy to get to, in a safe part of town, one bus directly or some had to transfer once, now the kh is in a very shady area of town, for most jws need to take bus , subway and another bus, there is no close parking space for those who have cars. Elderly sisters just don't go there, sadly there are beggars in the area , jws are obvious, so the single sisters, elderly or with children stopped going to the night meetings, probably now the kh may be almost empty
The same thing happened in our city. They sold all but one kh's, and it's in the rough part of town. I don't like going through there during the day, but would never want to at night. It's all the drug dealers, prostitutes, and there's fights all the time. I've heard that maybe 8 or 9 people go there so it probably won't be too long before that one gets sold too.
I remember the first KH we attended was owned by the members, and somehow they finigled sale to them and then sold it to a Spanish priest now it's a Spanish speaking church! It's extortion from the members of each KH, then to ask for a set donation from the members is a criminal act too!
Watchtower are money launderers. They extort money from people and give nothing back. Then sell buildings paid for by the rank and file to other religions. Surely this is supporting babylon the great. Watchtower are so corrupt the mafia and organised crime could learn from their methods.
This is also undue influence. Banks need to be careful lending money to children using parents as guarantors if it can be said the parents were unduly influenced. I have no doubt entire congregations are unduly influenced when they have their asset swiped away and nowhere to go anymore
According to what little research I did there are around 120,000 kingdom halls out there world wide. If I remember correctly there are roughly 8,000,000 members worldwide. This equates to around 66.6 “no pun intended” members per congregation. Each building has the capacity of around 120-150 although I have seen some with capacity of around 300. So it seems like the thought of a organization needing 14,000 more KH’s world wide to accompany a worldwide system that is operating at half capacity is complete BS. I mean it just takes a little common sense to see that this leadership is simply bogus.
And some KH's are shared. In the one I attended, 3 separate territories shared the one KH. On a Sunday, each territory took turns where the meetings were held at 10.00am, 1.00pm and 4.00pm and the weeknight meetings were held on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night, each territory assigned to their specific weeknight.
Upon listening to Lett again I noticed he did say the money from the sale of their Brooklyn buildings was used to build the new Warwick HQ and to buy further properties in the future to facilitate their move out of New York. He didn't specify what further properties and what they'd be worth. I wonder how long after this video was made that the Ramapo media production/movie studio project was conceived.
Do you think the Governing Body is in the real estate business and this is just the front? Free labor to build these Kingdom Halls, tax free, then they can sell in the future for a profit!
Lest we not forget how they would always pass a resolution to send extra money to the society that we never really had! Several times I wanted to object, but that would have been suicide.
I just want you to know my cat, Oliver, went NUTS over Zee Zee. He was wasn't being aggressive or anything, just trying to make a friend. He was meowing to Zee Zee through the screen. 🤣💜😭
The financial needs of. ‘The Kingdom’ ..?? .. what kingdom..?? He is outright saying that the WT publishing, property development and movie making corporation is the kingdom. They refer to WT as jehovah when they want $$ or free labour…
What about all the KHs, Assembly Halls and other Bethels that they had sold? Where are the money? Oh went to paid lawsuits! Well their fricking problem!
The builders of Burj Khalifa had to pay their labourers, they got in trouble for how little they paid them and their poor living conditions. Nevertheless, they were paid £2.84 for labourers and £4.34 for carpenters BUT they were paid, making labour costs at least £300,000,000 unlike the poor jws who built Warwick and Wallkill 😢 for free.
Wally, I wonder if the decision to sell certain halls depended on how much was still being donated after the "cancelation" of these loans. I know that my previous congregation was dissolved and the Hall sold, and this was a congregation of many older people on fixed incomes. Now most of them have to travel further to Halls in areas where the average income is slightly higher.
Many, many older have passed, not getting enough new younger, and many of us in during the 60-90's have finally faded, df'd, or learned about CSA, for whatever reason have left. From 100 avg attendance to 40 more or less, people just can't afford to be associated with their org anymore
Your cat kills me 😂 My two just adore hanging out in the office & it got worse since I got a standing desk, their « new high bed » apparently Edit : Also, the GB is using those funds to sue victims of SA. Disgusting
@@jakelynbrook Why all of you think you know everything about Jehovah's witnesses but can't answer my simple question?????????all different churches including exjws are Jesus's followers according to the Bible?????????
Well all the money they got from selling Brooklyn NY headquarters to Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, I'm sure they had a substantial down payment or paid cash.
This people have no education. Specially in economics. I bet they have made lots of bad business deals with donation money and org is heavy in debt. Plus the child abuse cases.
Wally you forgot to mention that they also snagged all the cash that various Congregations had been saving up for repairs on their already paid off KH’s. I’ve also heard that those groups that did have their KH’s paid off we’re asked to also send in donations as if they still owed money on the building. 😊
The story about the Israelites donating is not a story about people who had nothing. Exodus 12: 35-36 states the Egyptians gave them gold, silver and clothing. This was called “despoiling (or plundering) the Egyptians”

My dad, an elder for more than 50 years so far, said at the time that this JW Broadcasting was clearly in error as it was not in line with biblical principles of "ensuring you have the funds to complete your the tower before starting a tower building project". His mind was set at rest when they "clearly realised their error and corrected" by instead cutting back on all their plans including building projects as well as trimming full time servants. So afaik these plans were all curtailed, obviously I would suspect just through them not getting as much money in (and getting troubling feedback from around the world) as they were hoping rather than a realisation that they were not behaving biblically. I guess this is a large part of why this episode is so embarassing for them, that they scrapped all those plans mentioned so quickly when "Jehovah didn´t provide"
I rather think that the rhetorical question posed in the buybull about who builds a tower (or anything), without first calculating the cost (land, material, labor, etc.) is just common sense that any intelligent human would understand, not anything particularly requiring religious beliefs… 😆.
"We have up to date bibles " He talking about that grey travesty? I remember being at the annual meeting when they released it thinking wtf is this? Sounds like cliff notes for toddlers.🥴
I am certain that the cart witnessing has been a miserable failure at bringing in new converts, based on anecdotal descriptions of cart work by those (awake JWs) manning the carts, and those former JWs observing the carts on the streets.
When you consider how much it cost to build a collage campus with paid labor there now way they’ve gone over 200 million in construction cost since they started the new headquarters.
How he says ‘Jehovah willing’ but isn’t the ‘building’ 😉 of all these KH’s supposedly his direction? Like Gorge Carlin said - god loves you very much and he needs money, lots and lots of money 😂
They had to cancel/pay off the bank loans in preparation to sell the halls...to hard to sell up quick with mortgages on the titles...but they still want your money...
Excerpt from the Watchtower dictionary: Humility - Obedience to the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses and by extension, congregation elders... whether it makes sense or not...
Oh so being in the last seconds of the last hour, of the last day, just before the final day is really a good time to spend money??? 1400 KH = alot of money needed to fight SA and child abuse lawsuits
Jehovah shy? Stephen Lett talks like Jehovah is his playmate here on earth. .... 2nd; the watchtower has no conscience and no sens of responsibility!!! ...why? Because they (the watchtower) is ALWAYS right about disfellowshipping someone... ... Reader: use your power of DESCERNMENT ... DANIEL GOSPELS/4X REVELATION
I'm surprised they haven't sold the KH in my city. I doubt their are that many members attending, and another one with a 25 minute drive. My guess is, based on the area, nobody would want to buy it.
It is weird about the kingdom halls because a year before Covid they splitted congregations and many were sent to fill up other congratulations, and there is a video supposedly saying that it was to make use of the empty space...
Was watching Saturday night sixscreens of the watchtower RU-vid channel and report came in that watchtower shut down the cart/door witnessing because they have not gotten vendor licenses for that and watchtower not talking about the ramapo project it may not happen.
This can't be repeated, screamed from rooftops and commented enough. That was a "bald faced lie" at several levels. Putting these new 1600 KH promises side by side next to the "master plan" 2 years later of combining congregations and selling KH proves this was part of that "master plan" all along.
I know I'm repeating myself but I just have to reiterate myself: it's amazing how bad these GB members are at public speaking. Gummy face and strange intonation is just ridiculous. I'd say watching them makes the whole GB seem so much less serious or inspirational.
Stephen Let talking is so cringe it SCREAMS cult! I'm shocked people are still buying into this stuff but I guess that's the problem for them, not everyone is still buying into it. I just feel so bad for all the young people dealing with the inflicted traumas of having to be a "perfect" JW while being threatened with death.
Well if they would have told the truth from the outset they would be better off. They could have told them that for taxation reasons they are canceling loans but still need the donated funds for it. Instead they just cover everything with more lies.
They don't like the NT because it's all about Jesus and they don't believe who He really is. The wt says to have salvation you must be in their cult and not believe what the Bible says about it.😢 It totally contradicts what they teach. It's heartbreaking.
"Well why is that," says Stephen Lett... It's because, SCOTCH! duh! Another great video Wally. Thank you so much for keeping us enlightened! 🕯🌟💡***Also Zeezy is rather majestic today***
Seems to me they are the ones demonstrating a lack of faith!!! If you're the one true religion that has a direct connection to the God that created the universe why would you have to solicit funds....🤔
What happened to their biblical teaching that they used to quote Luke 14:28-30 "But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? 29 Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you. 30 They would say, ‘There’s the person who started that building and couldn’t afford to finish it!’ Why don't the GB practice what they preach
I remember a wt article/or interview of a lady from the Phillipians, who got up in very early morning hours-made some type of food, sold it...then went in ministry...Do these people living in luxcery (wrong spelling),think of them...???
Then: "We needs at least 14,000 more Kingdom Halls world wide" Now: Uhhhh, can someone come back to the Kingdom Hall? Please? This talk aged like 🥛. Thank you Wally, you made my day my friend 😊
Lett talks about "simplifying the design of Kingdom Halls so we can build more faster". What he doesn't admit is the new design suits the requirements of McDonald's, 7-11, and lots of different chain store. Watchtower is a business masquerading as a religion.
I had a dream that my mortgage company sent me a letter proposing that my mortgage could be cancelled and that I pay the same amount of my mortgage payment in perpetuity and not participate in my current or future equity which I no longer would own and have surrendered. They also proposed that my home could be sold at anytime and that I was responsible for all maintenance and upgrades. In the event that my home was sold I would be relocated to a home further away from my current location and possibly in an undesirable neighborhood and of unknown quality. Thankfully due to currently being a nation of laws allowing ownership of property I declined the offer. "That letter sent up more red flags than a communist Chinese parade", I dreamed. When I awoke from my dream I was shaking in amazement being happy that no such thing would be proposed or even thought of in an awoken reality. As I proceded into my day I thought that forced relinquising of ownership was why the feudal system was a failure as human beings realized they could be free and enjoy the type of Christianity belief that Christ offered. I was very happy to be AWAKE and not ASLEEP AND NOT LIVING IN A WORLD CONTROLLED BY THE NWO. I later questioned that former thought as I questioned if I was really AWAKE yet from my dream.
The easiest solution for all these financial woes would be the JWs to do what lots of other small-ish groups do when it comes to accommodation: each congregation hires a community hall or leases a building amongst several congregations. Can be basic, cheap and self-controlled. The society doesn’t need to run around designing, building and so on 1000s of congregations per year but would rather be able to administer and focus on the preaching work. Congregations could manage their own facility, budget as funds allowed and, where necessary, help poorer areas achieve the same. It would also be a more sensible solution for a ‘last days’ situation in which the funds ought to be used to drive preaching work everywhere rather than shrinking that work by reducing paid servants. Of course they want because the organisation is now nothing more than a real estate company that happens to be a charity and religion in official terms. But land, remodel KHs and then hock them off for profit (not for the prophet though.) A snare and a racket.
