Let me regale you with the tale of a man and his brother.
The man was a king who made important decisions, ate extravagantly, and attended plays at the opera house every night.
The brother asked the king. “Why do you get to live a life of power and luxury, while I suffer as a normal citizen?”
The king replied. “You may have the crown, if you wish. But my condition is that a sword is suspended above you at all times with a metal wire.”
The brother hesitated. But with the sword fastened by metal, there would be nothing to fear, so he agreed.
At first, he loved being king. He made life changing decisions, ate decadent meals, and laughed every night at the opera house.
But as the days went on, the sword began to weigh on his mind more and more. Was it truly secure? When would it fall? Would tomorrow mark the end of his life?
Not two weeks later, the brother returned the crown. He asked the king the meaning behind the sword.
The king responded. “Like the sword above your head, the crown is always under threat. From other lands, nobles, and even its citizenry. No one knows when “their” sword might fall."
And the brother realized what the king knew all along
Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
Pulled into the deep, towards the endless abyss of the sea
Oh
All engulfing, is there no saving this Finale?

As the guillotine makes descent
Since, my dear, from the start, you had been the star
I hope you’ve enjoyed your part
