My very favourite music since I was about 8 years old, so I've been a fan 61 years!! Our family went from opera and sacred music with my parents, mom sang the opera and dad played the pipe organ in church, oldest bro was Jazz and FF, next sis liked pop like Patti Page, the Four lads, then me, then 2 younger bros into Pink Floyd and Beatles. I love Handel's Messiah, Bach, Beethoven, folk, and Christian Rock ( sing in church choir) but the best has always been the evolving Four Freshmen. Saw them live in Kelowna, BC at the Interior Jazz Fest for High School musicians. Croon on, boys!

Thank you guys for keeping this special sound alive ! I have lived with it almost all my life and never tire of it . The Four Freshmen were just the best ! Play all your old records and let them breathe again ! They live on in our hearts !

hey! I didn't know Commander Riker was in the Four Freshman!

uschdog, I've heard the Freshmen with many big bands over the years, including the Kenton band. This does not reflect poorly on the singers, who are impeccable -- without a doubt one of the best of the many Freshman lineups over the years. The Freshman sing with many big bands every year. Some of those bands are better than others. If you cannot hear the flat notes in the horns, tighten up you ear.

@skinnerg You think these boys don't know a flat note? These are not spring chickens. You play flat or sharp and these kids will kick you to the curb real quick... You sure?

I'm no muso and maybe the 'bones were flat, [well maybe they imagined they were backing the Hi Lo's [geez. I'll get some flak for that.]

Very enjoyable performance, but I definitely hear some flat notes from the trombones...

Trombone intonation problems. I like the effort to keep this style going, though.

Great vocalists! The flat trombonist...not so much. Ouch.
