At the beginning of the 1970's Jack Kirby jumped ship at Marvel and took his creative genius to DC. His fir project there was an ambitious one, The Fourth World. He introduced the New Gods, Mister Miracle, The Forever People, and of course, Darkseid. In only 40 issues he changed the landscape at DC for many years to come!

The shame is that anyone other than Kirby continued his work. I think nobody has done it justice. Only Kirby knew the full story for his works, The Fourth World, Kamandi, The Eternals, Machine Man etc. I have a feeling those stories went in directions Kirby never wanted or intended.

I always thought of Phil Collins as the leader of New Genesis... Great video, Bruce. Never really knew much about Kirby's DC work. Interesting stuff!

Element X was used by Metron to build his mobius chair. It was Himon who created and taught students to build Mother Boxes. Get you facts straight.

I reviewed three sources, but didn't find an issue number to reference. They all say, "They were invented by the Apokoliptian scientist Himon the Artificer using the mysterious Element X." So I apologize if that was an error, I thought it was correct.

Got it now, when element x was added to motherbox, Metron created the first Boom tube. Thanks for the citations, accurate ones can be hard to find.

Great video, I have wondered about this series for a while now. I also loved Rosalind "Roz" Russell on Night Court. As well as every other character. Night Court was one of the best shows. How do you feel about Roger, the Stan Lee Experience, the comical parody of Stan Lee as a really awful person?

@@Animedad It was a segment on a series about video games on G4. Every time a Marvel game was featured Roger would show up doing an inaccurate or at least hyperbolic and quite crass Stan Lee "impression". Clips are on RU-vid.
