The Fox and the Hound 2 is one of many direct to DVD Disney sequels; you know the ones! They aren’t good enough to be released in theaters and are instead only on DVD, often ending up in the bargain bin. Or Disney+ if you have it.
And this movie is not really a break in that pattern either. It is abundant with story clichés, overly childish humor, and a lighter tone which seems really out of place in the universe of The Fox and the Hound. But I mean… I still kind of like it!
