Who the heck gave a thumbs down to Billy!?!? I give him so much credit for his honesty. I like him even more now. I have similar thoughts mentioned in the beginning and it's definitely not a popular topic in conversation but necessary. Pain and fear is a lonely place.

Great interview! Definitely think part 2 should be scheduled soon! Each of you showed your own individual strengths fighting through past issues. It's uplifting to see there is happiness on the other end. Congrats Billy on your sobriety. Your truth will be a light to many people. Freddie & Alyssa you guys are great together. I love watching your interviews, such great content.

I love this interview, he is so real. What he said about drinking and his dad ... it hit home, I see so much in him and my son. They share very similar issues with drinking and drugs .... thank you for you honestly , I can only hope others can hear your story and know they aren’t the only ones dealing with this .

Thank you both for your honesty ...one thing that I hope that everyone payed attention to........that the people Billy worked were not aware of his struggles . We rarely know what people are truly dealing with remember to extend love and kindness to everyone every day. We never know how a simple smile can help lift someone's day. God bless you all and your family's continued good health and thank you for this show and sharing your hearts story.

What an honest, open discussion. Very human and not Hollywood.. Mr Flynn, your story is so familiar and so good to hear that expressed by someone else. I and others feel more normal knowing that what we go through in our heads is not unique to us. Thanks for sharing and congrats on you sobriety.

I related to Billy so much. I kept thinking it was my words coming out of Billy's mouth. I have been sober for 23 years, and those feelings are still there, but I have just found better ways to handle them than getting drunk. Thanks to Billy for having the courage to share. Congrats for 18 months.

Great interview! It's awesome that he can be so open about his struggles. I can relate to overthinking about things. The talk about the continuity and other issues on the show that bugged him had me laughing. He's right that viewers do notice that stuff.

Fabulous interview! Billy Flynn is great. Love both you guys on Days. I relate sooo well to what Billy was talking about with his insecurities and taking things, like an eye roll, so personal. OmG!! This could all be my bio! And if someone is nice to you, why are they being nice! Always feeling like you're the cause if someone else's problem when you had nothing to do with it. Thank you Billy for exposing your inner self the way you did. I don't feel so alone!!! And you both really are fantastic on DOOL. This podcast is fantabulous

I realize this is from the end of last year. I am so greatful to hear the honest truth. I'd rather hear an ugly truth over a pretty lie any day. 57 y.o. grandma of5 . greeatful to hear you all's mistakes & what you learned from them, as I'm so far from perfection as possible. .thank you Freddie & Alyssa, & your guest, (Chad, love you) who gave me tools I haven't been given with all my years of therapy. I have a son who has been fighting a heroin addiction & to hear this young man say, this pain is all I have to hold on to, or I may have paraphrased what he said, or hijacked it, I am so greatful you connected with him on such a deep level he revealed details that can help others that we mostly try to hide. Alyssa, your so beautiful inside & out you help Freddie be vulnerable.& grow stronger under your tutelage. That is a gift you give him. I never heard that saying one drink is too many and a thousand drinks aren't enough It's a saying I need to apply to my life. Ppl drink or take drugs to not feel their feelings. This I know from personal experience

That was just raw brilliance! I felt like everyone was very authentic, and it was amazing to watch him open up like that. His honesty will definitely make a difference in someone's life when they hear it. As I watched him talk about his coping skills versus Freddie's, I was contemplating that it is also about a sense of self worth. For whatever reason, he came into himself believing he had little to no value whereas Freddie always believed he had inherent worth. I'm not sure if it was based on circumstance, or if just some of us are less likely to feel worthy. It was definitely a real conversation. Someone commented that Billy is "vulgar". I honestly didn't see that at all. I thought some of his comments on his life were "raw", but telling the truth is just never "vulgar" to me. (Perhaps I am so vulgar I just didn't spot it, but I doubt that.) Alyssa has such a "kindness" that just shines through as she attempts to show Billy he has value with her kind words. One technical note: Try to keep that mic out of Alyssa's face. You have mastered it for Freddie, but it still blocks Alyssa fairly often. Great job, you two! I really enjoy watching your show a lot!

such honesty and deep reflections. emotions and situations that he described. this interview hit me really hard bringing to mind my own experiences with someone close to me being in recovery. i thought about Gina through it all. to have someone so close to you be an addict and spiral and then support them through recovery... that's a whole journey in and of itself. that makes a lot of inner strength and mental fortitude to believe in the positive outcome. that didn't happen for me and i had to distance myself, because at the end of the day that person has to make their own decision to get better and do better. i'm so pleased that billy made it through, recognizing his decisions, acknowledging his triggers, and has a clear objective to stay sober. there are many people out there who haven't gotten to this stage. to any of you watching this- i hope you get some inspiration from billy and know that you can do it too. that you can get your life under control, things can work out for you. it takes hard work and introspection but success is possible. stay connected with others, don't isolate yourself due to your feelings of shame and guilt

Awesome Podcast Freddie and Alyssa!!! I absolutely enjoyed this riveting and compelling interview. I remember when you guys posted on Instagram on your Instastories about who the fans would like to see you guys interview. I responded with Billy Flynn. He was #1 on my list. Not even because Chad and Sonny are my favourite characters on Days. I felt like there was so much behind Billy, as he seemed like a mysterious guy but at the same time, it was like he had a story. This interview really resonated with me. I have always tried to do things in the past to hope that people would like me. I never wanted to feel like a failure. Unreal what he was going through behind the scenes. Trying to hide his alcoholism and was a functioning Alcoholic. I’m sure from that stand point alone that this interview will help people with addiction and they are not alone. I really hope you guys will have Billy back on the show down the road! This was awesome!!!

Freddie and Alyssa, your show is amazing!!! I love it. Iʻm 57 and my early childhood memories were of DOOL, and Iʻve literally watched it from nearly the beginning. I love the new formats like Chad and Abby in Paris and the Timejump. You people are GENIUS!!! But this takes it to a whole new level. Because I watch the show daily, your whole persona comes forward as a trusted person, in my pyche. So to watch round table private discussion is wonderful. It shows how down to earth you, your wife and your guests are. Please keep doing this!!!! I get the impression this is not affiliated with DOOL, but I reallylike your show.

Been watching your podcasts all night. They are all so great but this one is just something on a different level. I have never thought once in 9 years that anyone felt exactly like me and make sense of it. Billy is so honest and vulnerable and this scared the shit out of me bc I’m looking in a mirror listening to all these emotions. I’m not on the other side as he is yet but I hope in my heart he stays the course knowing he is worthy. Thanks for posting this, as hard as it is to face the pain and fear.

I am just discovering your RU-vid channel and this is so great!! Subscribed! I am OBSESSED with the WilSon storyline on Days and have always loved Freddie in that role. I discovered it one day scrolling through RU-vid and have loved it ever since. I am just now discovering the newer episodes and that Freddie and Chandler won’t be returning, which is sad. But the history you both made and the lives I’m sure you helped to change...unforgettable! Thank you for taking care of those characters and really honoring that story the way you all did. This particular video was so revealing, so honest. I really appreciate Billy for opening up the way he did. I could relate on a lot of levels to the things that he shared. Thank you all for being so open because it truly helps people in ways you may never understand. It’s great to get to know all of you a bit more because it makes me just love your characters a bit more because of who you are. It's a lot easier to have money than to be poor. And not have money to fix your septic tank and drain field. As well as many other household problems. And being disabled, as well as other health conditions. And have a husband who is dying a slow painful death, due to a brain disease. Huntington's Chorea Disease. And he's a cancer survivor, and he's allergic to 80percent of all foods etc.. Now to say something good. You guys are wonderful actor's 🙏💞🙏. I'm loving the time jump 💝. I hope they keep it going. I keep hearing it's only a dream 🤔. Hopefully the time jump will stick around always. Thank you very much for being on ⌛ DAYS ⏳. A great Soap 👍. Always great storylines and actor's.

I love this conversation. I have been able to level up financially however, it comes with a whole lot of other worries like taxes, family thinking you can just keep shoveling out money to them etc... Also the fear of losing it. I was also the child of an alcoholic and grew up with nothing so I try really hard to be very responsible with what we have. Also, gratitude goes a long way. Trying to remain thankful is key. By the way, when someone is writing a check in the grocery store my insides are screaming lol.
