While I’m at it, don’t use an inner tube to block the hot water outlet, not food safe. Get some silicone tubing and cut out a disc whose diameter matches the diameter of outlet.

Food isn't food safe these days... I'm not concerned in the slightest about a little bit of butyl rubber sitting on boiling water.

Hey mate. Unfortunately not, as the hot water spout is only controlled by a button (rather than a dial) But will extensive mods, you could absolutely adapt it.

Depending on the coffee... but typically IMS or Pullman.

Don’t use that hook to remove the clips. Don’t use your fingers to install the clips. Use a hemostat, like you see doctors use on TV shows. They have a locking device so you can grip the clip, clamp the hemostat, then remove. Also, don’t remove the SCR board and the ground wire. Remove the screws that hold the back on (behind the water reservoir) then tilt the cover back and out of the way. Gently.
