sold my Fuji equipment and moved to Sony. BUT I kept the X100V! The X100V is the best compact camera for me. Obviously everyones else mileage may vary. I owned the Leica Q2 as well but I wanted to keep only one compact camera and the Fuji did win that battle for me after a nearly 18 month competition. The 35mm (full frame equivalent) focal length, the much more compact size, the more reliable AF and the Fuji film simulations made me sell the Q2, which has stellar IQ and super sleek design and the wonderful summilux lens. But it is too bulky for a compact camera.
I've considered picking it up as a fun sidebody but its been impossible to get it here in the states for the retail price. People want $400+ over retail for it which is a bit ridiculous considering its now 2 years old. Anyway this was a fun video! I'd consider adding some shots of you using the camera in it so people get an idea of how discreet the camera is and also how beautiful the little body is.
@@niftyfiftyfilm4457 Trust me I have been looking for a decently priced x100f for about 6 months now. People have noticed the market for the x100f and v is huge and over priced the hell out of them. Even reseller sites like MPB sell the x100f for 1k. Its funny because I remember markets on reddit you could get it for $500-700 little over a year ago, even mpb had it for that around that price back then.
@@chickentendies5144 that's a huge shame really :( I got super lucky then but in all fairness its my favourite camera and definitely worth it. Have you tried ebay? They do occasionally pop up. What's your Instagram I'll DM ya if I see anything
Hey man - thanks for watching 🙏🏻 That’s a good shout, deffo need to get some b-roll of me using it, but can be tough sometimes when you’re out there as a ‘lone wolf’. It seems equally tough getting hold of these cameras here in the UK too. I just got super lucky - found this on FB marketplace, about 20 miles away from me. 400 shutter count. Mint condition. £1050!!
@@StuartRodwell Wow that's a great deal considering the current market. If you ever feel like passing it along, I'd gladly take it off your hands for the same price and maybe a bit more if you include a signed autography haha
You'll love it! I've had a Sony Nex-7 since it came out still awaiting its repacement (A7000 ?). (I was unimpressed with an A6600 that I tried at the huge B&H photography store in NYC.) But since gettin a new X100V, I've been smitten although limited by the single focal length. So I added the 28 mm equivalent wide conversion lens. It stays on the camera most of the time as I generally prefer wide angle (20 - 24 mm is my preferred range). That's why I'm currently considering a GRIII + GW-4 21 mm wide-angle conversion lens. With these two small cameras I think my bases would be covered... until I need a portrait focal length (X100V tele converter)! I do like your style.
This video made me press confirm on a ebay purchase. Picked up a black X100V with 200 shutter count on it in brand new condition + a bunch of official fuji addons such as the wide angle adapter, 2 additional batteries, Flash and Leather Carry for 1600 GBP (seeing four figure sum leave my bank made me scream ouch haha!) (will most likely sell the extras just to cut the cost down & try and sell my A7ii body + 85mm 1.8 as well) Excited to see all the upcoming videos about the X100V as well!
So glad the video came in useful, and congratulations on the new purchase 🙌🏻 I got lucky too, second hand with 400 shutter count for £1050! Looking forward to getting out and shooting some photo walk videos with the V 👌🏻
Actually looking forward to sell my Nikon camera and upgrade to this Fuji, especially that I will be traveling soon. Thank you for sharing this video. Inspiring shots you got there. :)
Had a V in silver, used it for a few months, got bored, sold it, decided to get another one last year, bought a black one, used it for 6 months, got bored. Now in September 2022 I want another one and can’t buy one anywhere here in the UK. Oh, and you live round the corner to me it seems 👍
Yeah I nearly gave up - until one day I got lucky on FB marketplace, £1050 with 400 shutter count in Brentwood 🙏🏻 Were you using the V as a secondary camera? And you’re a local Essex boy?!
@@StuartRodwell over the years I’ve had all kinds of DSLRs and bags full of lenses. A few years back I went M43 and then down to just an X100. I actually used the V as my main camera and to compliment the iPhone when I wanted a bit more than just family type snaps. I wish I’d kept the one I sold a few months ago! Obviously won’t disclose details on an open forum but I appear to live about 3 roads from you :)
@@iam_anderdingus ah great stuff - glad you found one. So you really are local! My email address is on the ‘about’ section of my channel - when you get a moment it would be good to hear from you - interested to know where you are!
Thanks so much 🙏🏻 - I used my own Lightroom presets but I’m interested to experiment with the different film recipes. Any recommendations? Classic negative looks pretty cool
i own a Sony a6400 with small kit lens 16-50mm and i need help to use that lens it's so bad i cant get even with it ( i know i need to get better lens but i'm on budget and everything is so expensive ) i need to know how to shoot in low light ( still and fast moving people ) with less noise . thank you !
In a nutshell, you can't - the 16-50 isn't a fast lens so to take shots of moving people at say 1/400th second you are going to have to crank up the ISO, introducing noise. Having said that there is a handy plugin called DxO PureRAW 2 which I use, and this gets rid of a lot of noise and sharpens up the image before you start editing. Give it a Google! I would recommend the Sigma 18-50 if you want a better and brighter zoom, or invest in one of the Sigma f/1.4 trio. I use the 56mm in indoor gigs in low light and it is fantastic!
