the thing is that ap can get much higher than ad, so even tho the scaling is lower, the damage can be more

@@darrenpai1279 That would be true for any other champion, but not Jhin. Jhin gets AD from bonus attack speed and crit so it is very common for him to get around 800 AD while building normally. So at worst if you build AD the trap damage is the same except you're not complete shit.

I didn't want to get all maths-y in the video (since it demonstrably ruins my viewer retention in the past lol), and you're not wrong. For traps, full build lategame AD vs AP is fairly close. With AD beating AP. However, Jhin's AD curve is exponential, with attack speed increasing his AD by an amount of his AD. Traps scaling with AP is linear. If you're a complete smooth brain like me who just wants a whacky trap build, an AP build yields higher damage throughout the early game and into midgame for oneshotting people since you dont rely on multiple items to scale together. AP adds a fixed amount of damage to the traps for a fixed price. Plus, traps are more likely to succeed in the early game with limited vision tools and defensives to get around them. But a build's strength isn't judged solely on how well he can cheese someone with one particular ability and accounting for a complete champion design, AD Jhin *is* straight up better at all stages of the game. But where's the content in that? (:
