Youre one of the only gun tuber guys that actually lowers the volume for the shooting sequences, or at least matches it to the speaking portion of the video. It is very annoying always having to adjust my speaker system volume during these types of videos.Thank you very much for doing this. Very good reviews. I have had about 4 different 365s myself. The best shooting/looking/ergos is a 365xl slide, irons only, on an icarus ace 365 xl metal frame. Super simple, sleek, accurate, etc @21oz.

Objectively and demonstratively false claims, but at least you're happy with the video. I think too much was overlooked to sing praises about the magazines, which are really a separate product/development entirely.

Great review, but you missed my favorite: the P365X. For those who pocket carried their original P365 with the 12 round mag, and wanted the flat trigger, with a slightly larger beaver tail, the P365X was a perfect upgrade. In fact, I upgraded my P365 to the P365X for under $100 by swapping in the P365X grip and replacing the trigger (and adding a larger mag release). I also carry 14+1 with the Magguts +2 kit. And to complete the perfection, I carry it all with Underwood's 90 gr. +P Xtreme Defenders, which overcome the poor expansion even the best JHPs produce with their superior terminal performance (due to cavitation)--and with the extra benefit of a little less recoil.

I’m only 47 seconds into the video and I’m ready to offer my opinion. I went from conceal carrying a Sig P938 to conceal carrying the original P365. The difference in weight and thickness IN REALITY between those two guns is huge, even though it may not be on paper (keep in mind I carry in an OWB leather pancake holster with a twelve round magazine). The whole point of the P365 is more fire power in a small firearm. I would stick with the original if anybody is trying to decide. FYI… It’s been a great gun for me; I hope everyone else that has one feels the same.

@PierceThirlen2 Год назад
FYI, the curved trigger has more room inside the trigger guard to fit a gloved finger. The trigger pull force at the tip of the trigger is identical between the flat and curved trigger which varies from about 3.5 lbs to 4.0 lbs depending on the tolerances of the springs. If you have a large diameter finger you will be pulling the flat trigger at nearly the same place as the curved trigger and the pull force will be between 7 and 8 lbs. If you have a thin finger you can pull the trigger closer to the tip which will increase the leverage and reduce the pull force to around 5.5 to 6 lbs. With the curved trigger, the contact area on your finger is larger so there will be less pressure per square inch on your finger when you squeeze the trigger. With the flat trigger there will be reduced contact area on your finger, thus increasing the pressure per square inch and there will be a greater range of pressure on your finger as you squeeze the trigger. Some people may interpret this as better control. Some people may perceive that the flat trigger breaks more cleanly, but that is perception and not reality.

I really dislike the feel of flat triggers. I like having more contact with the trigger.

The Spectre is one of my very favorite pistols. My wife just got the P365-380 kit and a FCU and she loves it for the range. It helps teach proper grip, costs a bit less to shoot and is just a great range pistol overall. And with the FCU she can get a 9mm complete upper and grip module and have exactly the firearm she wants to carry. 380 prepares you for the snappier 9mm carry, even though it is less recoil, it still teaches grip mechanics and holds. i love the modular concept...wish they'd been offering that the whole time...Imagine the possibilities!

I love my Macro, its the best compact pistol I own. The 17 round capacity combined with the thin profile is perfect for concealment. I have the Mossberg MC1 its the same size as the Macro but that Macro is way better. That middle ground texture on the grip isn't super aggressive when its pressed against your body during warmer days for CCW. Everybody has different sized hands and different training experiences. The whole which is better will depend on the person. I have learned over the years how to be able to conceal almost any handgun and use it effectively in almost any scenario. Good review though

Always worth starting with interchangeability, then specifics of each. When I started buying pistols a few years ago, a friend of my spouse met us at a local gun shop and talked carry guns with us for an hour or two. That friend left us with a short list of what they considered good carry guns for our purposes, and the SigSauer P365XL was on the list (as was the Canik TP9SC and the CZ P10S). Over the next month or two, I bought a P10S and a P365XL, figuring my spouse would prefer one and I would use the other (I have reasons for being flexible on that that aren't relevant to the current discussion). Over the next few months, I had a chance to shoot a P365SAS, and found that I liked the P10S better than either of the SigSauer options. Since I am "of a certain age," and am dealing with age-related presbyopia, and since I saw a local gun shop with special pricing on a SigSauer Romeo Zero RDS, I decided to try one on the P365XL in the inventory. My spouse decided that she could do the administrative handling of that gun better than she could of any other gun in the safe (the collection had grown to include a CZ P10C and an M&P M2.0 sub-compact), so that one is now "her gun." It's a great piece, but I find it a bit narrow for my hands. If I try target shooting with it, I do pretty well, but I do better at rapid shooting drills with my CZ 75D PCR.
@gsitzkowitz
@gsitzkowitz Год назад
You left the best 365 out! I started with a standard 365 and absolutely loved it until I began timed defensive drills. I discovered that the recoil with that small a gun made it uncontrollable at speed. At the recommendations of several range officers I tried bigger guns. The bigger the gun the better I got. I got rid of that 365 but I sorely missed the size and portability of the 365. Then I discovered the best 365, the 380! It’s recoil impulse is very close to a 22 lr! It fast, it’s flat, and it’s extremely accurate!! It’s nothing short of incredible! While it doesn’t have the power of a 9, a 9 in a 3” barrel is nothing to write home about. I’ve yet to have anyone shoot it that wasn’t impressed.

@@8Soul88 First, I do own and shoot a SAS 365. Second, those sights are somewhat adjustable. Loosen those two screws and you can cant the sight a little to either direction, and a little go's a long ways! Don't get me wrong. I love to see those guys stand there and slowly put a whole mag on target, but in a self defense situation the first shot is the one that counts the most to me. I practice a smooth draw with all my handguns with the muzzle high, and as the front sight hits the target in pushing the gun out, while bringing that rear notch around the front sight and squeeze of the round. With the SAS I draw muzzle high, cover the target with the muzzle, then use the same push the gun out and up, and like majic there is the green dot in the pipe on target as I squeeze of a shot. Don't forget, these sights are for SELF-DEFENSE ranges, not 25 yard ringing steel!

Have an additional thought. I agree with you on the XL being the perfect size. My wife purchased the P365XL Rose and loves it. On the other hand, those slide comps do next to nothing. I've shot my wife's XL Rose with the slide comp against a standard P365XL and I cannot feel any difference at all. Look at that comp on your Specter Comp. The hole through that part of the slide has to be large enough for the entire barrel to fit through it without touching. There is no chamber and there are little to no baffles, so no contained expansion of gasses and nothing for the gases pressing forward to push against. I believe any benefit of the Specter Comp is in your head. One is a customer shop pistol and the other is just much larger and heavier. The porting on the SAS, though quite minimal, absolutely does work. If they come out with an SAS V2 that has tritium underneath the SAS to maintain the dot, I'll probably purchase it for a pocket holster.

It shot flawless right out of the box and now 2000k rounds later not one malfunction, of course I always clean my guns after every range time. All are easy to front pocket carry in my FL shorts every day. You just have to wear big and baggy cargo shorts like I do. Your clothing choices should always cater to the guns you carry. The comped slides I don’t care about, since the 365 has always been a soft shooter to me anyway.

If its a Sig, mine are metal framed models I think Sig's shortcoming is the lack of grip side contours, not enough palm swell. My Lg/ ExLg glove size hands need more width to fill my palms. That why I love my H-K VP9 SK and Walther PDP Gull Size, and my Steyr M9 C2MF, AND my Walther P99 Final Edition. come on Sig, get some fuller, side palm filling grips. Your P226 and other P22X family are mechanical winners👍 This was a great presentation ✌️✌️

I installed it even though I saw so many negative post on the Romeo. Today I’ve carried it for over a year on my 365xl and over 2k rounds, 200rds a month for a year. Not one issue.

I hear ya on the Iron Sights. Not a fan of red dots myself. Heard they really are better when you practice with them. In the end though, many people lose their ability to use iron sights quickly and accurately, because they get sloppy with the red dot. Have a friend who always used irons (never wanted a red dot).... but then he got one (for free) and used it exclusively for a couple years and now he can't hit anything with iron sights (not quickly or at regular speed). He also has trouble switching targets with iron sights now too. I actually always wanted a red dot, but never tried one, because of this (because of cost mostly, but that's what moved an optic down lower on the list of things I want to try/buy to being a lower priority).

I agree, more capacity> better concealment. I think a lot of people that concealed carry don't realize the stress they will undoubtably be under in a situation where the have to use their gun. Unless you have taken hours upon hours of force on force training where the stress levels are high and you've been able to train yourself to that level of stress, its better to have a backup plan for when SHTF. That back up ultimately needs to be more rounds. One thing i will say to oppose my previous point though, if the difference between someone actually carrying their gun vs leaving it at home is 2-5 extra rounds in a slightly larger mag/gun, then ultimately, carrying the smaller gun with less capacity is the way to go. But if either is comfortable enough to carry every day, i'll always choose more capacity.

My go to carry configuration is the 365XL with a Wilson Combat 10 round 365 grip with a 12 round mag, For summer time concealability I carry with a 10 round mag with a pinky extender. The Wilson Combat grip feels much better in my hand than the Sig 10 round grip. With the 12 round mag the grip height is the same as the Sig XL grip My home defense choice is an 3.7 inch barrel version of the XMacro with a light and a Holosun 507K green dot. The slides and FCUs are interchangeable between between the models so I can choice to carry with or without the Holosun green dot. Great flexibility which was not touched upon in this video.

Because of the modularity, I kept changing grips and slides as new things came out. Then I realized I had enough extra parts to build a new p365 model with just a new FCU purchase. My current EDC is the X Macro grip on an X slide with a Herrington Arms Comp.

Great video and explanations, and I would like to add one point...Expelled gasses from the ported barrel or compensated X-Macro Slide. I fired P365X and X-Macro on a recent trip to a free state and I would not be comfortable at all carrying a ported barrel or the X-Macro Slide. I've had all sorts of duress firearms training and shooting a firearm with a ported or compensated barrel is not ideal. My answer was to build myself an XL-Macro, so a frankensig with a bigger Grip module for my Hulk sized hands, more capacity, longer barrel, less recoil and no comp. I also bought the DPM system for recoil reduction, so I still get the minimized recoil from a "compensated slide", but without the gasses and other stuff that comes out of the compensated slide or a ported barrel. Overall, for me, it's the best solution for an EDC. I love the P365 for the modularity and customization that can occur by using a FCU and grip modules/slide combos. My favorite carry pistol by far are the Sig Sauer P365 series, though I also have every small Glock, a few Taurus Micro's and a Hellcat Pro, but Sig P365XL-macro beat them all for reliability, fit and finish.

I started out with the 365 Macro - became my main carry weapon 90% of the time. Just started to upgrade it with the modular options Sig now offers. At first I bought an SAS slide - I was sold on the videos and talk about the ring and dot .... biggest regret in a purchase from Sig - aligning the ring and dot out of the holster just did not work for me - I could pick up the HD X-ray front sight on the original slide without issue on every draw, and the SAS slide is now in a sealed bag waiting for a trade/barter option down the road if I can find a sucker. I just bought the XL Comp slide and put it on the 365 Macro ... I immediately saw a difference - no so much with recoil reduction, but with follow through recovery and able to get back on target quicker. However; the longer slide on the compact 365 Macro frame was off balance with the 10 round magazine - but worked well with the 12 round magazine, other than the occasional pinch on my finger because of the gap between the grip and the magazine extension. But with the 12 round magazine, the balance and performance were amazing. So, another upgrade - I bought the XL laser etched grip and swapped out the fire control assembly, essentially turning the 365 Macro into a 365 Specter Comp for half the price. I don't regret the expense, I still have the Macro grip and 365 Macro slide, and can go back to the compact configuration if needed, but probably never will - and having the 365 Macro for over 4 years now, the expense of the upgrades is absorbed. Now looking at a flat trigger option, but looking more at after market triggers rather than the Sig molded trigger ... am also running a Romeo-X on the new set up which has the circle and dot configuration which has been working well with my prescription glasses so far - and the after market slide option has the high profile X-ray sights - so I can co-witness. All in all, the P365 is one of the best pistols I have ever used, and this is coming from a 1911 guy ... which is what I carry the other 10% of the time when I don't have the 365 - either a 4" barrel Springfield, or my STI Duty One with a 3" barrel - which is amazing - I guess you always seem to favor the first one you ever trained with and became good with, but the 365 has changed my carry game forever! Awesome video ... Keep them coming!

After trying out each one I say the XMacro is the best hands down. I run mine as an edc with a TLR7 light and it's flawless. It's the same size as the XDS (with extended mag) I used to carry but offers 7 extra rounds, a compensator, and tritium sights. All my friends have og 365s and XLs and my pop carries a 365x. As much as I've loved shooting them, the grip just doesn't fit my hands. The macro completely eliminates this issue as well as adding on rounds and extra bells and whistles. The spectere comp is a great one too, but honestly isn't worth the price tag at all

In my opinion, the P365 and the "XL" aren't even the same gun; they're completely different in every way except the fire control module. Sig should have called the XL the P265 to properly indicate that it's not really a P365. This analysis isn't unique the P365 lineup, but that is our current example. The "best" P365 for some people is the .380 version. I enjoy shooting larger, heavier pistols and revolvers in everything from 9mm to 44 Magnum, but in a lot of my life circumstances I can't carry a large firearm. With a gun this small and light -- the sort of gun I'm usually carrying -- follow-up shots are far easier to get on target with a "lighter" round. There are two key things for an effective EDC firearm: actually carrying the gun, and getting rounds on target. All the penetration and expansion in the world does you no good if you miss the target, and if you left your big, heavy, hard to carry gun at home...well, at least you won't have to worry about getting rounds on target. Some will argue otherwise, but proper, modern .380 rounds on target are going to do the job.

The best 365, in my opinion, is the 365XL/Macro tacops slide with the original 365 grip module. You get to have the longer slide but have the flexibility to minimize your grip module with a 10rd mag or go up with a 12rd+ mags if you want the XL grip module experience

I just purchased the X Macro (non compensated version). I will say my opinions are somewhat biased because I conceal carried G19s and later the p320 for work. So because I have grown so accustomed to concealing larger pistols, I already had established work arounds for carrying them. The macro offered me duty capacity, long sight radius, and the added weight has a small benifit with recoil management for follow on shots. The downsides to carrying it are spot on, but like I said I have a biased outlook because i am so used to carrying larger pistols already. This video is a great starting point for people to make informed decisions on what works best for their situation.
