“In the end the only person I truly want to comfort me is Haymitch, because he loves Peeta too”, why does this make me emotional? Peeta says there’s no one left for him besides Katniss but there’s Haymitch too who has been like a father to the both of them.

This is the first video I’ve found that is their ACTUAL FULL STORY. The use of the lines from the book makes it so much more authentic and I just love this so much. Well done!

I was really upset when they didn’t include Peeta and Katniss having a picnic day on the roof. It was such an amazing part in the book that helped show Peet and Katniss’s love for each other that could’ve been an amazing scene in the movie. Such a missed opportunity

I miss the hunger games. I haven’t watched videos about them in a long time or read the books, but I just keep coming back to them no matter how long ago it ended. This makes me wish I could travel back in time to experience it all over again :(

After getting older and revisiting this series, I realize that Katniss fell in love with Peeta earlier than we thought. In the first Hunger Games, Katniss attacks Peeta after his first interview with Caesar where he openly admits to being in love with her. The reason why she attacks him is because she believes he made her look weak. I’ve come to realize that her love for Peeta did not make her look weak, but it was one of her weaknesses. Just like with Prim, once the announcers announced that two tributes from the same district could both win, that’s when Katniss developed the need to protect him, just as she would her sister. Many people say the night lock incident after the revoking of the two tribute win statement was an act to test the Capitol, but i believe Katniss just couldn’t bear the thought of killing Peeta- not after everything she did to protect him, to save him. Winning the games changed Katniss. It changed her love for Gale and her love for Peeta. Before the games, Katniss may have loved Gale the same way he loved her, but after, she became too broken to love him back the same. Gale and Katniss’ love grew from hunting for survival whereas Katniss and Peeta’s love grew surviving the hunt. I believe the moment Katniss fell in love with Peeta was during the events of Catching Fire. I think it was either when Peeta was holding the morph king and talked to her while she died or the moment when Peeta told her he had no one to live for if she died, Those were the moments she realized Peeta for the person he was and not just someone she had to protect. She realized that, just like her, his number one priority was making sure she made it out alive and that even with the expectation of death, he still had a light, he still smiled. When Peeta was captured, Plutarch, Haymitch and Coin realized that in order for Katniss to fully commit, she had to know everything was going on; she had to see her weakness. Seeing Peeta being made into a Capitol slave was her weakness. And, notice how when she was having her nightmares, which was when she was felt her weakest, she dreamt of Peeta. She could have easily gone to Gale, who was there with her in person, but Peeta was the person she needed. Edit: thank you guys so much for the responses! ❤️❤️ I love this fandom! I also wanted to add how when it came to her feelings, Gale always made her feel guilty. He always pressured her to reciprocate, when in her state of mind, relationships were the last thing on her mind. Gale couldn’t accept Peeta being a part of Katniss’ life, but Peeta could accept Gale as a part of Katniss. Peeta knew she loved Gale, and though it hurt, he accepted it. Something we learned from Katniss is that whenever it comes to her decisions, she is the one who has to make them and Gale constantly forcing his feelings on her didn’t help. It annoyed her more than anything. I also realised that in the series, Prim, Haymitch, Cinna , and Peeta were really the only people she listened to fully. They were the ones she trusted the most whenever she was feeling down.

no doubt I'm team Peeta all the way, he's absolutely perfect in every way, and I don't know how the author was able to create the perfect guy in every category. He's sweet, handsome, caring, funny, loyal, etc... Also, I think this is the best video edit I've ever seen, and it brought me to my happy place, and almost made me cry which is a pretty hard thing to do. :)

I’m so confused why people say that she wasn’t in love with him it was clear as soon as she heard there could be 2 victors she saw him differently. She stopped seeing him as “I don’t want to care about him because he’s going to die” to, “Both of us can go home, I can care about him now” and when she realized how much he cared about her

This also proves that the book was so similar the movie. Josh and Jennifer really did a good job portraying the characters. I can feel the pain that Katniss feels, and the warmth from Peeta. I'm happy that they are living their lives with joy and prosperity despite the nightmares, hallucinations, or the pain that is still haunting them forever.

(5:07) My favorite moment was when Peeta hit the electromagnetic wall (?) In cathing fire, and katniss.. Katniss expression in the movie and the storytelling in the book, the moment she thought she gonna lost him forever.. That's the thing called love my friends.

Iv realized how strong peetas feelings for Katniss were because she basically pushed him away so many times but he always stuck by her side and was always there for her and didn’t give up even tho he knew there was something between her and Gale. I just realized, in the second arena, Katniss's last words to Peeta was "I'll see you at midnight" under the Lightining Tree. -Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be, If we met at _midnight_ in the _hanging_ _tree_ - interesting coincidence :)

Who cut the onions when she said “Peeta, will you stay?” And he responded with “always.” 🥺 He always loved her so much.

In all my years of being an avid Team Peeta...I have never seen anything that describes how absolutely perfect they are for one another like this video does. People always said she needed someone more like her, like Gale, but no. She needed the yin to her yang (as cheesy as that sounds). And that is Peeta. When she’s weak, he’s strong. When he’s weak, she’s strong. They complement each other in every way. Seriously, this video is amazing! Love it!

if you look close you"l see that Peeta and Katniss have their roles reversed. She has many characteristics considered "masculine" (hunt skill, strong temperament, reserved) and he has the skills that would be "feminine" (good speech,good in arts, he shows his feelings) That's why she and Gale wouldn't work, they were one of a the same, but with the Peeta each one was the missing part in the other. This book is perfect on many levels ! I was team peeta, all the way !!!

My favourite line from the book was by Haymitch. It was when Katniss had escaped thirteen, Coin had sent Peeta, and she got a phone call from Haymitch. And he said, "If you'd been taken by the Capitol, and hijacked, and then tried to kill Peeta, is this the way he would be treating you?" The reason I love that line so much is because it's so true. Peeta would have been treating her better and in the book, Katniss realized that and started acting less hostile towards Peeta and started understanding him more.

i got chills when she said “Real.” when peeta wanted to know if katniss loved him

For some reason This lines always always hits me like a train Katniss: “stay with me” Peeta: “always”

Isn’t it strange, how in books, TV shows, movies, and stories, two people who fake being in love start caring for each other, then ACTUALLY fall in love, or is it just me?

A lot of times when she kissed Gale it was kind of awkward

They did the movies so well, did such a great job trying to follow the books. I forgot who said it, someone from the cast/crew, but they said something about how they didn't want people going into the theaters expecting the book to come to life, and then be disappointed with it. They really did it. I don't cry very often, it's pretty hard to get me even choked up. But I got choked up at least 4 times while watching Mockingjay pt 2. JUST Mockingjay pt 2. I can't remember the rest. They really did amazing and I love how they took some of the actual lines from the books. Also, this edit made me get choked up a few times. Good job on it!

What’s so unique regarding Katniss and Peeta is they weren’t the typical star-crossed lovers who experienced love at first sight (well, maybe Peeta did a little) but their friendship and relationship grew over time. It was gradual, Katniss didn’t even have romantic feelings for him for a long time. It’s true to real life. Their trust in one another, their faith in each other will be challenged by nothing else. They can survive anything together as a couple.

For some reason (since imma Potterhead and a Hunger games fan) whenever Katniss says "Peeta, will you stay with me" and he responds "Always" it reminds me of when snape shows Dumbledore his patronus and dumbledore says "After all this time?" And snape says "Always" Idk, they are just kinda similar and are both from series i love 😍😂☺😝💕

OMG 1:07 WAS A FORESHADOWING!!!!! I'VE READ THE BOOK AND SAW PARTS OF THE MOVIES AND I'VE JUST REALIZED THAT!! OMG I MIGHT BE SO LATE BUT WTF!!!! AFTER KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM IN THE THIRD BOOK WHEN THE CAPITOL HAD HIM, IT HITS DIFFERENTLY!!

I think Katniss has always loved Peeta, in the way Finnick put it. "You love him. Maybe you don't even know how, but you love him." We can see that by examining Katniss's maternal instincts during the 74th hunger games. Even though she didn't "love" Peeta in a romantic way yet, she loved him as a companion, as her partner. Not as a boyfriend, or a lover. But as her friend. Katniss never had many friends, so losing Peeta would "destroy her beyond repair", so she kept him alive. She always loved him, but she only loved him romantically in the middle of Catching Fire.

If I don’t find a man like Peeta, I know I did it wrong.

I love Peeta’s character, in both film and book. One of my favourite sum up lines for him is when Katniss says ‘I was never the nice one, you were.’ And Peeta saying how he doesn’t want to be changed breaks my heart, because the capitol turns all fears into reality eventually. He’s creative, kind, and good with words. She’s tough, stubborn and active. They balance each other. Even after getting hijacked Peeta was never the same but made so much effort to remain a good and thoughtful person and love Katniss despite his messed up memories. From the very start Katniss never wanted anything to happen to him because he showed her kindness once, it is so hard to hope that if a loved one is to suffer, you’d rather they just die. Their love story might have started off one sided and a ploy but without them realising it, it became their most sacred real thing to come from their battles.

I was only 14 years old when I first read The Hunger Games trilogy. And it's just the most beautiful dystopian romance novel for me. I love how it was written like you're on the actual game, playing and surviving.

We need Jen and Josh to be in a movie together again they are such good friends in real life and they did such a good job in these movies.

I just finished reading the books for the first time today and I am unwell. I have an unhealthy obsession. Peeta and Katniss have my entire heart. I will never get over this series

I must say, and i have to say for the sake of others. Some people that mad bcs Katniss chose Peeta over Gale never read the books, they dont understand Katniss's POV. Katniss was never confused about two people (Peeta and Gale), she fell for Peeta long before Gale treated her like a real woman. Their love story is yin and yang, which in this case is so fascinating to see Katniss as the yang (masculine) energy and Peeta as the yin (feminine) [its never about the gender, its the energy]. Now we all agreed that the author said the love story is about Katniss and Peeta, Gale and the game were just the part of their love journey to grow. Once again, it was never about love triangle bcs there are only Katniss and Peeta. For those who read the books will understand. Anyway, i also notice that some that ship Katniss-Gale are only view 20% of this story. They only saw one perspective and couldnt see why Katniss and Peeta are meant for each other (the author said it, they are end game obviously. We won-) but hey they want the Gale character to be with Katniss bcs well, look at him, soldier, full of fire, anger, and masculinity just so perfect, boyfriend material and such. Well it can be perfect tho with the Katniss who isnt Katniss (means if Katniss was a different person, different personality, more feminine and soft much like Peeta) you can see why they (Katniss-Peeta) are a perfect match now right? Their energy is balanced and just read the dam books. Boyfriends material for someone who's a bit Katniss's personality needs a Peeta in their life. Youll figure if you still dont wanna change your mind one day. Much love, never hate. Just stated my opinions. I think that she realized she was truly in love with him was when Finnick was talking about how he thought it was an act until peeta’s heart stopped and she was worried about him. I want to love someone that much🙂

My favorite quote from The Hunger Games series is "I was watching you, Mockingjay. And you were watching me. I'm afraid we have both been played for fools." I feel as though this is what really made Katniss realize that Coin did it all, and that she was doing the wrong thing. Just that tiny seed of doubt, grew into a blood red flower as soon as she drew her arrow.

When gale said “and the way she kissed you in the quarter quell” I really thought he was talking about when they where all running from the peacekeepers after finnick’s death for some reason but he was talking about the beach scene I think.

I have watched a lot of stories about them but this was the best because of the lines..... it was truly heart melting........

I like how I don’t care about school or anything but I care about two fictional characters being happy together. 🤣

I’m hungry, please give us more of this amazing moments, please. Sometimes, like other people, I simply wish to eradicate my memory and watch this film again.. to experience that amazing story of two young people struggling but still hanging in there because they believe in each others, it’s not your typical love story, it’s something that has earned it’s place in our hearts. There was never a love triangle. The moment Katniss-a distant person- went to Peeta to find comfort, solace and just a moment to breathe, I knew it was over for gale. Peeta won Katniss, and us, with his dandelion personlity. He is the promise that life can go on and it is beautiful to watch/read.

When I was younger, I watched the movies first, and I was young enough that I didn't understand that in the beginning, it was more for the Capital, and to keep them alive. I was also team Gale. When I got older, I read the books and I realized that she couldn't possibly end up with Gale. Gale could never completely understand what they went through together. Peeta balances her out, he loves her more than anybody else ever could. They belong together. Aghh, these two just tear my heart apart.

Very beatiful video with a real picture of Katniss and Peeta's love. The HG it is the one of my the most favourite book, because it hasn't only happy endings. It has also dramatic and really scary situations and that's why all of it is so wonderful and sad at the same time. Love, that Katniss and Peeta has is immortal. Always they have eachother, even when they are parted. I remember the most, the scene when she heard him voice after a long time on the interview, when she was living in District 13. Everyone says, that he is the Capitol's toy and they can't understand, why he was talking that things about war. Only her (and Haymitch I think) knows that he was hurted and needed help. All in all,you created very emotional edit, which took me back to the world of HG. 💛Thanks for your work. As and editor also, I know how many hours you spent on that.💛

I don’t know how, but the scene at 8:35 was literally erased from my memory! I can’t believe I forgot this existed. One of the main sentiments in Katniss’ and Peeta’s relationship (in every form) is “Stay with me?” “Always” And it just breaks my heart in the sweetest way possible to think even physically in her hands and kissing her he’s miles away. And still... STILL he has it so deeply ingrained in himself it’s like he surprises himself when he automatically replies “Always”

Best edit i’ve seen so far. The way you incorporated the book and the movies meaning together really captures the depth of their love. They fell in love earlier than we thought and this proves it.

I've watched this video upwards of 6 or 7 times now- I just love it so much! Using the book quotes to give the full story is brilliant. Katniss rarely voices her true feelings and intentions aloud because she feels the need to protect everyone; this extends to every part of her life, but most prominently she stays quiet about her love for Peeta, because she feels guilty about not knowing what kind of love it was. And so the movies lost all of the beautiful quotes about how she feels connected to him and dreads being apart from him. And this edit did a BEAUTIFUL job of lining up the perfect book quotes with the right movie scenes to bring that aspect back. truly fantastic.
