I think it was just Bethesda's way of clearing the doubt whether it was the fog or Vim beverages. In the end, in Fallout 4 almost everything comes down to shooting your way through.

Perhaps they weren't affected by the Vim to the same extent as Erickson? We already know most Super Mutants have a strong sense of brotherhood, so maybe it changed them enough that they'd be more amicable to their "brothers" but still hostile to outsiders?

In my first playthrough, they were all sitting in the vats like hot tubs. I had to do a double take, thinking it was a bug at the time =D

I'm going to build a Vim lab in one of my settlements!

The Space Wizard Well, it is kinda hard to fix a rotting out brain.

Ferals are basically zombies. They do not have a brain anymore, and are just raw nervesystems dragging around half-corpse bodies that basically can't die on their own. You could never "cure" them. I doubt their DNA is even intact enough to clone the original person. You could however PREVENT ghouls from GOING feral, as well as possibly heal their damaged bodies. Maybe.

***** If you don't destroy the institute Virgil might be able to go back to his lab (after curing him with Lorenzo's serum) so he can work on it further. Since Lorenzo lives forever and he was adequately restrained in Parsons it wouldn't be hard for the Institute to do the same to him. The institute would have no moral issues with locking him up and exploiting him given what they already do. For field testing the Institute could use the puppet Mayor in Diamond City to distribute the new serum to local super mutants (perhaps through a Syringer armed by the DC guards?) To distribute it further we would have to use the Minutemen since the BoS and Railroad are to die if the Institute must be left alive. The Minutemen could be supported by armies of synths, though I think many among them might have some problems with that. As for releasing it into the water, it could cure the mutated sea life but it could also make them more dangerous, the Vim could be Captain's Blend which might make the sea life less hostile. However, we're not trying to give everyone unlimited life here, this serum should be reserved for cure only so releasing it in such abundance with no control is probably a bad idea. Now, if letting the Institute operate like this might be too ethically damning so maybe Virgil could find a way to exploit Lorenzo's magic headgear and so find out how to synthesise his blood, then he could work with the Railroad to secretly cure specially targeted mutant populations.

Marcus was a Mariposa super mutant which is a different strain of the FEV virus which made anyone who was of mostly pure blood more intelligent than average humans. However if a person had been exposed to high amounts of radiation or a weaker form of FEV they would become really stupid if they became a super mutant. Also the Mariposa strain wasn't very consistent and sometimes when someone was exposed, they would turn into a ghoul-like creature like Harold or if exposed for long periods of time (months) It would turn a person into and immobile yet highly intelligent creature like the Master.

What about Fawkes? Fawkes was great.

Actually, I've noticed most main Fallout games appear to have a new FEV strain in it. Like the Mariposa strain, the Vault 81 strain, and the Institute strain which is the one Virgil has.

Arkady Rex This is true. Actually there are multiple institute strains. Swan, for example, was one of their early experiments and through various computer entrys it's established that the institute kept refining the virus through at least a couple of iterations before their research stagnated. But I was pointing out that no version of F.E.V. turned 100% of the Super Mutants into nothing but violent idiots. Even Strong possesses some rudimentary cunning and the ability to restrain himself. If anyone can resist a virus successfully it's at least possible to cure it even if only by making a serum from the resistant individual's blood. Virgil even says flat out it'll take years but he thinks he can generalize the cure that worked on him.

If you think about it a little the conclusion is that human settlements should even look out for sane super mutants and invite them to live with them. Of course the human fear and hate - which is totally reasonable for like 99.9% of the mutants that are violent human meat craving cruel monsters. But for the sane ones? They would make the most valuable individuals of the settlement! Of course their insane strength is helpful for a lot of work, the way they are feared would make them great security to stop outsiders from doing stuff but the most value able would be the complete resistance to radiation. They could actually carry out all those nuclear waste barrels, decontaminate the area from radiative gerbil or remove the ridiculous reactors from cars and trucks and maybe could even put those into a save enclosure to harvest all the energy remaining. Hypothetically spoken. Since - you know: even with Drumpf it is still phantasy :D

I think their is one problem, super mutant keep mutating. It goes until they become behemoths. Tho the vim would allow them to keep their sanity (the mutation into a behemoth really screws their minds), but they would continue to get bigger. I'm not 100 percent sure on how true the continued mutation thing works. If i'm right then then sane mutant would keep getting bigger until their giant or collapse on themselves.

Itzthepandarealtor Judging by the shape of the canopy (full glass bubble), tail and wings its most likely P-47D as spitfires were rarely used by Americans and you have to remember that Fallout's America is isolationist and nationalist to the max. Well there's a thing tho Fallout 4 deviates from original Fallout plot outlined in Fallout Bible by a large margain. But yeah most likely P-47D-28.

But the Thunderbolts have four propellers. From the arraignment of the propellers you can tell it doesn't have four, but three. Typical of Early-Mid Spitfires. And, bare in mind the Fallout timeline only differs from ours after the end of WW2. America did occasionally use Spitfires, just like the British occasionally used Mustangs.

There's at least 4 different types in main FO4. The commons and softshells seem to be horseshoes. Hunters are some kind of shrimp, like lobsters or prawns. Queens could just be bigger commons, but Kings are more like hybrids. Like maybe some FEV-type mutation made humans into nest guardians.

"Mirelurk" refers to mutated crustaceans as a whole, e.g. Hunters are mutated lobsters

Looks specifically like a spitfire, which is an odd choice for an adventure plane, being a single seat fighter with no storage compartments for survival gear, and a very small fuel tank, early models only staying airborne for a measly twenty minutes. That's all fine when you're dogfighting at 2000 feet, but I'd want something I could put my gear into, and you know, actually fly around for long times. You can't really adventure that much when you gotta land and refuel every twenty minutes to an hour, and if you get out of the plane and go about on foot, you wouldn't have any gear except maybe a pistol and a small suitcase of stuff you managed to fit in the canopy.

The Arctic Gamer It looked more like a hurricane to me because of the small bubble cockpit window and the slope down to the tail. But hurricanes were very similar.

Actually the spitfire had the bubble, the hurricane had the more enclosed canopy. The shape of the tail section and the position of the wings really gives it away though. The spitfire has a straight rear fuselage towards the tail, and a sloped back tail, while the Hurricane has a hunched back and a rounded tail.

Pepsi has taken over Southern restaurants like Coke has taken over the West. They both can be found in both regions, and they've largely bought up all of the little guys along the way. What Coke has done to the Shasta formulas is downright criminal. They put artificial sweeteners into all of the many flavors to make them "semi-diet" like Pepsi One, or whatever. Shasta now gives me splitting headaches, if I can get past the taste. "Goodbye Black Cherry Cola. I shall remember you fondly." :{

Elijah Jackson most of my family lives in Maine that's where I grew up and yes moxie is most definitely an acquired taste its primary ingredient is a root extract that gives it a very bitter and pungent flavor most definitely unlike any conventional soda

Elijah Jackson. a good portion of my family drinks it. personally I used to hate it though it's really not as bad as I remember...it has a very distinct aftertaste and because that drinking more is the only way to help that lol it has a cult following here in NH as well as ME and MA and because that things like Moxie jelly exist which is actually pretty good XD also Moxie frappes are pretty good...but yeah totally an acquired taste

Elijah Jackson Definitely an acquired taste, at first you will either hate it and never pick it up again or never get enough of it. It took me awhile to end up enjoying it, at that point I could never stop drinking it.
