On this week’s episode of Well, Now we talk with Harvard professor and clinician Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford.
Her research revolutionized obesity medicine and helped pave the way to get a diabetes drug approved for treating a condition millions have in the U.S.

I wonder if these medications should be reserved with those people trapped in food deserts that abound in fast food restaurants and retail outlets. Even though it’s possible to eat low-carb/low sugar in those places, it’s much more difficult, and without the knowledge, essentially impossible. These folks are eating toxins 24/7 and deserve a medical intervention upfront. But, the goal should be not perpetual medication, but education and how to access quality foodstuffs and nourishing oneself with those. There’s no such thing as a GLP-1 deficiency.
