Where you dislike her or like her there is something we can agree on: she loved her country. Unlike the politicians we have today that don't have the backbone to do anything worthwhile, she did. She was the first female leader in Europe and proved that you can break into another sex dominated profession without having to shake your ass. Rest in Peace, Britain's Iron Lady.
What are you talking about, she created a tiered system , rewarded the wealthy and crucified the poor, she thrived in the company of men, and I'm fed up of this feminist nonsense..
Put Britain so well on the world map that everyone noticed, and bought it...from Saudi Arabia, to the US to Russia....not much British owned Britain left, is there?
When there's discourt May we bring harmony When there's error May we bring truth When there's doubt May we bring faith And when there's despair May we bring hope Rest in peace, The Iron Lady
what a great lady only scousers bad mouth her and their union thugs God bless her history will show she did good of which thousands of so called labourites bought their council houses and made thousands hypocrites
A great tribute to perhaps the most underrated and under-appreciated stateswoman in recent memory. Well done, Madame Prime Minister! Enter into the glory God has prepared for you! Thanks for being such a great friend to America! Will greatly miss you and Ronnie! You were so great together! - Blessings, John
Waltz ah I see, she killed the economy is that why inflation went down, more people invested, unemployment went down and the middle class expanded. The mines were a failing industry, it was losing money, it was cheaper to buy coal from Australia, she didn't raise taxes for the rich she lowered them from 83% to 60% no wonder we were called the sick man of Europe before thatcher.
she was our Prime MInster we should have respect for her, she made some bad decisions we all do, but in the end they were hers to make as our leader though some hard years Rest in Peace
I must say, I love it when the music is performed at Royal Weddings, Funerals, whatever special event there might be in the U.K. The organs in those Cathedrals are so magnificent.
As an American who was alive during The Reagan years, I believe Prime Minister did what she thought was best to bring her country to honest financial conservatism. We all only see in part in this world and do the best we can with what we have at that moment in time
She restored Britain to its rightful place as one of the great powers of the world. She had more courage than all the other PMs since Churchill combined. May God bless her soul forever and ever.
I loved her indomitable spirit. She was England personified. I wish todays politicians had an ounce of her wit, her vision and her sheer bloody mindedness.
No westerner no generation can claim a better teenage years than 80-88. This was made possible by the security vested upon us by Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher. Those two leaders created an apex culture in there respective societies of economic bounty, certaitity, stability and constants unknown in western history till and since, then. Margaret Thatcher, we vow to thee. We miss you in the u.s. your leadership and guidance was summarized with the term iron lady.
are you so far up your own arse you can not see the devastation they two cnt's caused ? they destroyed manufacturing and tore society apart which has not recovered . they handed china global power and wealth on a plate , now your queen and government kiss the china's arse. 80-88 ??? were you sleeping when half the country was rioting against these 2cnts? did you not see the horror caused by their cruel policies against the working class? unemployment both sides of the atlantic sky high, families being torn apart you and every other fukin tory will burn in hell with they 2 evil nasty horrible psychopaths
I was a little older - just too old by months to vote in 1979 although she sent me a lovely letter and photograph when I wrote to her that year. We were so lucky to have her.
I deeply hope this anthem to be sung on one of the upcoming events for honouring the soldiers, sailors, and officers that sacrificed their lives in the 1914-1918 war, they do truly deserve it.
+Jason Railson no the royal family should be made to sing WE ARE SO VERY VERY SORRY FOR CAUSING THE SLAUGHTER ,then the whole fukin lot of them should be sacked , hypocritical shower
+robert houston Accepting that the RF had an indisputable role about the course and consequences of the Great War, it mustn't be neglected that on one hand almost all the British society of that time supported the decision of entering the war wholeheartedly, and on the other that there was the utter need to protect the Nation against the Central Powers' threat, which was indeed very real and imminent against all that represented the British civilisation and way of life, and that the assassination of the Archduke was only a mere excuse to generate a war in which the UK and France would be enslaved and plundered. The slaughter was caused not by them, but by the imperialist intentions of Kaiser Wilhelm, ignorant shower.
+Jason Railson i believe most war's especially ww1 and ww11 could have been avoided, but due to the failing's of the english crown and government plus their massive ego's and blood lust million's were slaughtered and millions suffered horrific lives for many many yrs . when i see royalty and politicians at war memorial services i think they should get on their knee's and beg forgiveness from the dead and their families , their hypocrisy sickens me . when i was young and foolish i served in the brit army would never do it again or let any of my son's do it either .
+robert houston My great grand father served in the Cavalry, my grand uncle was in Korea from 51 till 53 and I was trained by the Navy, and I feel very proud of those circumstances. But I can't deny that not all stories are the same, neither all reasons are. The only thing which is sadly unchangeable is the fact that they died, and most of them did their duty till the end, at sea, in the trenches, or in the air, many of them did with bitter hearts, like yours. Therefore the only thing that can be rescued from such monumental tragedy, is the sense of admiration and respect for all of their suffering and pain, both mental and physical, and rendering honours to them by means of this majestic hymn, is only but just and dignifying. My respect to you too.
She was quite an astonishing lady! Yet, I doubt her "recipes" would work today! Our life in particular and the world in general have changed immensely since those days! Only one example: I sincerely doubt another "Falklands" would be possible, let alone "wanted" these days! And how she fought the Unions wouldn't work anymore either! She was right in and for her time and in her time she was "The One"! A repetition would be impossible, unless we'd wish parodies of Thatcher, with insecure results! With all regret: Thatcher is over!
Stevie Baxter of course i dont hate all women! i hated her cos she was an evil bitch, do you need a diagram? How do all women and my mother come into this? Are you not too bright? and what the fuck does "cut of the public tit" mean?
bluedog15 No, I think Johns comments relate to your outburst about someone you have never even met, yet still feel as though you can be abusive about. Yours is the socialist way, be abusive about people (because it's fashionable to anarchistic) but the second people are abusive back to start whinging. You should be ashamed of yourself. Whatever you think about her term as PM many, even her opposition, give credit to her policies. Whilst many of them were unpopular they were required and that is accepted. She was a strong women, but I guess that might intimidate people like you in your armchair eh?
As has already been said, 'Judge not, lest ye be judged'. And for those who can say no good of anybody, remember the same can and will be said also of you.
Although I am from the USA I respect, honor and appreciate the endeavors of this lady along with my then seated President Ronald Regan and Mr Gorbachev. Tenacity, and homeland first is this woman who vowed to her country through her life and into eternity. We do not have to always look for the speck in another's eye.
I don't understand all the hatred towards her. Oh well, our Ronald Reagan was also reviled by the other side of the aisle (& Isle ?). May they both rest in peace.
Stevie Baxter I don't know for sure. It is often the fate of famous British politicians to fall out of favor. Both Sir Winston Churchill and Sir Arthur Wellesley met similar political fates.
I vow to thee my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love. The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best. The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice. And there's another country I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know. We may not count her armies, we may not see her king, Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering. And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness and all her paths are peace.
Probably apart from Churchill, our most assiduous PM. I remember at 0615 one morning, she interrupted Radio 4 to put them straight... Said what she thought and did what she had promised, not simpering what people wanted to hear. Most unusual.
I don't agree with her on everything she did but one thing, the liberation of the Falkland Islands is alongside d day, Dunkirk and Trafalgar as one of the proudest days in British history 🏴🇬🇧
Margaret Thatcher may not have been loved by all, but she was respected and even admired by some. I believe she should have had much more grand funeral than this...more like Winston Churchill. She wasn't nick-name THE IRON LADY for naught! I have always admired her even here in the United States: there will never be another like her! Thanks!
GOD rest your sould baroness. may ye rest in peace. you've served yo7ur country well a country of my heritage . madame, I consider you a friend I consider you an ally. may you rest in peace :)
May the Empire regain it's honor, its light, its glory. I say this as an American. One who will never bow to any crown, but holds a respect to our bonds across the ocean.
The guy with the beard at 2:50 was singing this hymn right, whether you loved Mrs Thatcher or hated her, you cannot say things about her that are unpleasent, i happened not to agree with her policies. But i understand she is somebodies mother, and if anyone was to say things half as unpleasent as some of the things that i have seen about the late lady thatcher, i would be appauled. Lets hope she is resting in peice for the family she raised and the patriotic soul she had. We have all done things that we regret, but we cannot let that dwell on a future where we are no longer around. A beautiful hymn that was sung for one of britains pioneering female politicians. And a great strong leader.
Thy love oh Saviour proclaims the name of thy Servant Baroness Thatcher amongst the immortal who love thee. Rest in Peace oh Christian Solider Baroness Thatcher, well done, good an faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. I wish our Serivcemen and Service women the highest standards of care too, for no greater love have any person but to give their life that others might live, For God too gave his only begotten son,
"Yes, the medicine is harsh. But the patient requires it to live." She saved Britain from economic implosion with some painfully hard and unpopular decisions. She had a powerful influence on President Reagan. And she turns out to have been right about the Euro and the EU. As an historian, I can say that her leacy has aged well, even if she was polarizing at times during her tenure of office.
I remember Maggie when I was growing up (her second election victory was on my 13th birthday) and she left No 10 when I reached 20. Some of her policies weren't to my liking but she stood up for her principles and was firm with world leaders during her tenure.
Thee best Prime Minister our country has known..........Brixit.? She’ll have sorted that in a morning and had time for a blue rinse in the afternoon 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍 RIP Iron Lady
2. .I heard my country calling, away across the sea, Across the waste of waters, she calls and calls to me. Her sword is girded at her side, her helmet on her head,[6] And around her feet are lying the dying and the dead; I hear the noise of battle, the thunder of her guns; I haste to thee, my mother, a son among thy sons.
She was voted into power by democratic election. She worked hard. It is so easy to criticise in retrospect. When one considers the people of countries who have no power at all in the choice of leader and where atrocities are commonplace, we didn't have it so bad. May she rest in peace.
I never liked Thatcher either , her politics were self centred ,divisive and only benefited the rich toffs.Thatcher herself was never from an upper class background her dad was the local green grocer. But I like many would never be disrespectful to someone at a funeral. To me that is poor form indeed
Even the biggest opponent of Thatcher should at least get a slight tingle down their spine watching this. No deceased PM will ever get this kind of treatment again. Imagine what the reaction will be like when Brown or Cameron die, people will barely give a toss. A beautiful hymn, very appropriate.
Truly glorious. I’m sorry I’m gonna miss my funeral now, I want people to sing this for me (btw I have held this opinion long before seeing this video) I vow to thee my Ulster
She is the best political leader since Sir Winston Churchill. She courageously pulled UK out of the illusions of a socialist Britain after the war, and paved the way for a renewed nation with optimism.
