The USD Aeon 80 is a whole lotta fun. 80mm wheels on an aggressive style boot. Jake reviews.. You can see the USD Aeon 80 skates in the shops just here: www.locoskates.com/products/u...
I'm a skateboarder and bought a pair of these a couple years ago. I've had a lot of fun with them. I haven't had much difficulty when it comes to grinds and slides. I don't know much about inline skating, but they feel pretty good.
I just ordered a pair off you guys...and having them sent to me in Taiwan. Thanks. Hope they come soon. I have a feeling I'm going to love these skates.
@@a0zuniverse okay, these skates are everything as advertised. But to make them even more fun, I put 76mm on the front and back and left the 80mm in the middle. I love a fast turning skate. They are probably my most comfortable skate that you could wear for an all day city skate. They are just like wearing slippers, but with a lot of support. But to be honest I love the Aeon 60 Lomax skate even more. The skinny boy liner is awesome. I love the little wheels. Get you so low to the ground it’s insane. If you’re into or want to get into aggressive skating you can’t beat the 60. The H block is much bigger for grinding and that makes it easier for beginners. You don’t notice the skate being slower because of the little wheels. It’s my go to skate now. But these Aeon skates are flat when you get them and the new wheels are sticky. So same thing on the Lomax skate I put 60mm front and back and left the 61mm in the middle. Now I can turn like an ice skate. Get the pro version instead of the standard. The upgraded liner is so worth it. I’ll stick to learning grinds on the 60’s for now. I’ll try the 80’s at grinding when I get better at it. If you want a fast skate for street skating and the occasional grind or slide you can’t beat the 80. For aggressive skating in a park I’d get the 60’s. Hope this helps
Would you say intuition liner is more cushioning/comfortable than the skinny boys? Got mine with skinny boy liners and I find my feet are wrecked after half an hour and feel like as if I'm skating on plastic than anything cushioning and comfortable so wondering could it be just the liners not suitable for me. Used to skate in generic agressive inline skates back in the days and never had similar issue Ive also set of old XJado and no issue like this
Are there ANY cons to the Aeons other than less flexibility regarding the setup? I'm torn between buying these or 4x80 Powerslide Next, and I can't figure out if one is better than the other in any way if I don't really care about grinds, but really really want to have solid jumps, landings and balance. Thanks for the great review!
Just preordered these, at my local store. Can I ask, why did you change the wheels? I dont know much about wheels and the brand differences so any insight would be appreciated. Really great channel btw, I dont live in the UK anymore but if I did I'd love to check out your shop.
I just bought these skates and about an hour in to skating I began to feel excruciating pain on both my inner ankles. I have since found some comments, buried amongst all the sparkling reviews, stating that they too have had this issue. I called loco skates today and the guy basically said ye they know about it and USD are in the process of modifying the mechanism in order to resolve the issue but there was nothing he could do as the skate was supplied in manufactured condition. I’ve had to resort to duct tape and half tightened screws just to be able to wear these skates. Let alone skate on them. The thing that angers me the most is how reputable reviewers (including loco) are not mentioning this issue even though they are aware of it. And as a result I have just thrown 250 pounds down the pan.
The usd aeon 72mm are my favorite skates out of all the skates I own. I use the usd aeons for commuting. I can skate for hours without having any inner ankle pain or any other discomfort. So not everyone has these issues. I would suggest something like the seba/FR fr1 or the rb 80 da/cruiser these are very wide in ankle area and toebox area.
Any one got an opinion i realy want to buy them but are they havey an bc of the big weels are they got top side good an im a size 9 whats a good size i got wide feet any help would b nice
Loco Skates are brilliant and Id highly recommend them for when youve got questions and want quality product. Guys shipped a pair for me to ireland few years back after i send dozens of questions beforehand asking them which ones will be most suitable for me so definitelly theyre worth getting in contact with to see what will work the best for you
Yep. Ennui Neoprene ankle-savers. They’re padded on the ankles. Also, when you heat mold your liners make sure that you put on the compression sock over the warm boot.
PLEASE REPLY IF YOU CAN! My current setup is 80mm. Where can I find solid core 80mm wheels like you have on these?? Does it prevent decoring from high impact?
Ugh, this is so frustrating for me! I really want these skates, but the smallest size they come in at 6-7, yet the Aeon 60 comes in 4-5, which is my size. I’ve been looking for an aggressive style skate I can use for urban skating, and this one fits the bill. Why???!!!!
At 2:03 you spin the wheels and it instantly shows the one reason why I don't want this skate. Is the free spin horrible on every plastic frame? I have a Kizer Level 2 and it skates slow as hell compared to every aluminium freeride from I owned. I'm still waiting for a high quality UFS aluminium 4x80 frame with a small H-block like this Aeon 80, preferably with a 1mm rocker like the Element 90, and all one solid piece of CNC'ed aluminium.
with the 72s ur in the middle like me. and i say do it if ur going for longer rides, but if u are aggressive skating more then i say stick with the 72s. cause u do get the bigger wheels to hit on sides more, but they are crazy fun tho for speed runs.
@@thearianmandalorian I'd like to get ones with 72, are they good for ride? I'm more into jumping and riding with sharp turns than grinding, tho I'd like to have grind option as well
@@fosterix555 they are more then perfect, ive been on just about every ramp, rail and jump etc. for the past two months and they have been perfect for all of it. there is a getting use to the insane speed u can get. but maaan its fun! takin rails in high speeds are craaaazy fun with them.
@@thearianmandalorian ty for reply dude! Should i go for 72 or 80 in your opinion? And also, can i heat mold them to make them a bit longer? I have Roces element 52, they are 45-46 eu, but oddly my feet fit in nicely, even tho they're 30.5 cm long, but who knows if Aeons would be like that...
@@fosterix555 always mate, always ready to help out. and if ur in the street skating, but also love to just joyride then the 72 are gold! the 80s are more of a joyride boot, with the possibility of grinding. and im the in between 60 and 80, ive skated since the early 90s and the 72 is like the most perfect boot ive ever owned. they are perfect for it all- and i did indeed heat mold them a small bit, but mostly the inliner. cause i wasint to sure about the boot being able to handle it. point of my long message is i recommend the 72s all day long. ;)
If grinds is top of your list then avoid these and buy the Aeon 60. They're great for hitting the odd obstacle, but you wouldn't want to session a rail on them!
@@LocoSkates Of course you would never want these for just grinderblading, but how are they for powerblading, aka mixing a few grinds into freeskating?
I wanna order aeons 72 or 80, i just wanna know if my feet will fit em... 30.5 cm. I have Roces element 52, and oddly they fit me nicely, even tho they're 45-46 eu. Would i be able to heat mold these in case they're to small? I see there's no larger size than 46 eu...
@@piperdk8849 i got em few months ago, i when i put them on, they were small (liners). But i put them in the oven on 90C for like 10 mins, just as they say you should do it, and they fit really nice! It will mold to your feet. You'll might have to do it 2-3 times, or maybe just once if you ride a lot, so they'll just stay in your form. The blades are amazing!
@@fosterix555 they don't fit. The length is ok but its soooo slim inside.... after 5 min my feets hurts like hell. 😔 the USD AEON 80 was my last hope, I try Rollerblade Twister Edge X (pressure at feet,) FR FR1 ( absolutely nervous no safe stand) K2 Uptown ( quality 👎🏻) and the Aeon 80. And now I have no glue which skates I can try. Any ideas?
they have them here but they're from oz, overpriced, silly p&p and doesn't include import VAT, but depends how much you want them. outerlimitz.com/usd-aeon-80-inline-skates/
IMO 70mm wheels would be perfect. Still low to the ground like 60 but more speed thanks to the +10mm extra while altogether not looking too bulky. Great idea thou as not everyone wants or needs to do hardcore tricks with aggressive skates and the occasional jump and slide is enough.
Hey Rainer. Because Coronavirus! Check out the banner on our homepage right now. We have a live feed of incoming stock / sizes we are able to get hold of amid the pandemic.
I have the 80s and learned to royal on them. It's hard at first but it actually makes your royal better and more correct over all. You got to train a more correct C shape with the body and really trust putting the boot down. It's a really fun experience! I haven't tried Unity or Savannah yet. I don't really do savannahs though lol.
