I must say, as a Lions fan, yesterday was quite the day. I got to watch the Lions crush a bad team, I got to watch Aaron Rodger’s lose his worst game in years, and I got to watch the Bears be the Bears. 😊
Steelers fan here, I got to watch the Ravens lose to the Browns which was nice, as well as the Bengals lose. Assuming we win tonight against the Giants, it will be a great week for us.
Did you catch the Eberflus quote about the play before the Hail Mary? He said giving up the extra 13 yards didn't matter, all that mattered was executing the defense on the Hail Mary. He is without a doubt the stupidest coach in the NFL.
Everlose is an idiot....he even double downed on that point.....if the Commanders didn't get that extra 13 yards....the Hail Mary would have been tipped and caught at about the 8 yard line....instead of in the end zone for a TD. This is a man who has NO justification of being a head coach..
And they're stuck because they CAN'T fire Fluse. We've seen what happens when you fire a coach when they're just underperforming but not out of it (Jets).
I didn't manage to catch the game because I desperately needed a nap, but when I woke up and got my dad's text play by plays of the final couple minutes, it didn't even phase me as a Bears fan of over 25 years, my only response was "How spectacularly on brand for them." At least I can count on the 49ers to be kind of good most of the time.
@@aidanbommarito1747 Oh he has. He has his Sunday show and the first thing was teh Bears comdey. Called Tyrique Stevenson "LOLcow of the Year" candidate.
1. Bears did that with success years ago with William Perry 2.Packers actually have scored 2 TD's with BJ Raji SO, it isn't as outrageous as you think.
As a bears fan …I only watched 2 mins of the game. After witnessing the clown circus laughed and said to myself…ah yes - the bears 🐻 I’m used to” turned off tv and got something to eat.
It's the 7 v 3 kerfuffle that happened at the snap that confuses me. The offense had all the time in the world to march down to the end zone. Sack him or force an early throw where you can still tackle after the completed pass for the W.
I think it was really funny that Bear fans were so psyched about Caleb Williams playing well against the worst 2 passing defenses in the league in the last 2 games. They said Caleb was progressing, that game was slowing down for him and that he was going to be a great QB. I kept telling them, playing bad passing Ds made him look better than he was. Expect him to look like he is regressing. They didn’t like that at all.
Defenses have been really suffering this year, and you can tell. There are a few teams who are just starting to get offenses that good, but then teams like the Bengals exist this year and with the Eagles, their defense has officially given up over 200 points in the season. With 9 games left. We are looking at a year of consistent 30+ point games across the board.
I really don't pin most of this on Caleb Williams however. Bad coaching can mess up a player bad. There was an article on the athletic a while back about the top 3 predictors of longterm QB success being: the quality of coaches he plays for, the organization he's drafted to, and does he experience any early career success in terms of either wins or good stats (because learning how to win early in your career sets you up). And when I look and see that Williams' been saying some of the same things Justin Fields was saying and having similar struggles playing wise, then logic says look for the common denominator between those 2 different QBs. And it really does look like a coaching issue at that point.
We always had OLine issues. Caleb regressed but in that final quarter was just taking hits right as he'd throw in the pocket and it worked. Also came off a bye week
They may have lost on a Hail Mary but they also were out-gained by 170 yards and lost the turnover battle 1-0 (not counting a turnover on downs). Even if you take away the 80 or so yards combined the Commies had on the final play of each half, it’s still about 90 yard deficit and losing the turnover battle. They were lucky to even be in the game.
Don't forget the 2 TDs that were called back over bogus calls. Hell, I'm not even sold the pass interference call on St. Juste that set up their TD was a good call. If we REALLY wanted to get observational, we could highlight the holds on thats Swift TD. They need to stop with the excuses, cause we ain't trying point out the BS that held back points for us.
Bold move, having expectations of the Bears. They haven't won a playoff game since the 2010 season, and they just don't beat winning teams outside the division. No upset watch for them
As a bears fan, browns collapse last year, lions collapse, more than 1 Hail Mary against the packers, double doink, this… like… the bears lose differently.
Steelers vs. Redskins SB, I'm calling it! Both of these teams will be 6-2 if Steelers win tonight, which is crazy! That match up is 2 weeks, and it is going to be amazing!
If there is any team currently suffering from a fearful 2nd half schedule, it's the Steelers. It's really gonna all come down to just how inconsistently consistent will the AFCN be this year.
The Bears "curse" has a name....and it's Matt Everlose....who makes mind numbingly stupid decisions...and then DOUBLES DOWN on them when questioned about those decisions....he stated that the 13 yard pickup didn't matter before the Hail Mary...and also said they didn't need a time out before that play because everyone was "ready"....even though Stevenson CLEARLY was off taunting and hardly READY.
The defense held the best offense to 12 points in essentially regulation. I hate how stuff like this completely negates how the game actually played out.
I can’t keep watching the end of that game. As a Bears fan, all I have to say is, maybe not cursed but ownership worst in the league. They refuse to hire decent HCs as it seems like they are afraid of coaches who might be able to push back on their crappy culture inside Halas Hall. I think the prerequisite is that the HC go to church with the mccaskeys and not have experience as a HC at any level. Probably won’t win another SB with these owners.
The biggest thing about the Washington def is the fact that they have time to rest and aren't going out back to back because of turnovers or 3 and outs. Any Def with time to.rest and look at the tablets to find holes can succeed
For how long my Redmanders have been a Lolcow of a franchise, them actually being Good is still a strange feeling. I’m not complaining, but it’s weird. All I hope for is a Winning Record for my team. Making the playoffs and winning anything there is house money
The stupid announcers wouldn't SHUT UP. Like, 3 minutes straight of jinxing with everything they had, and I was already sitting there filled with dread, having flashbacks to the double doink, knowing very well my franchise cannot be allowed to have any sort of happiness, hope, or triumph.
As a bears fan its weird how much people are playing this up. It wasnt even the worst play of the game let alone the day. Really expected to lose to jayden by 3 going into the game. It's very small brained to take one play and make this big a deal of it when the fanbase has already moved on.
As a Bears fan, if we woulda just been stuffed at the goal line on the previous possession, that woulda been ok to handle as a loss. To lose on a tipped hail marry? 💀🪦
We're still over .500 about to play a team who hasnt beat a team over .500. Yes this was dumb. Yes our coach is inept. But there is talent on this team, the defense young and locked up for the next few years. Caleb has been good so far. And as bad as he was against Washington he led us down 3 times to score late in the game, also, 2 minute and late game are when he's been at is at his best. Let us get Ben Johnson, let us spen our money and picks on the line, Moore, Kmet and Rome are here for a while. Flus blew 3 games last year where they had a win probability of 90%. He got burned on 2 terrible challenges earlier this year and now he's afraid to challenge plays or waste a timeout. The leadership council had to go to the coaches and ask to be coached harder, he's Mark Tresman all over, just constantly afraid to mess up or step on toes. Last year I was kind of sad we went on that little run at the end of the year. We won just enough to keep this clearly inept coach around. He's a great defensive mind, he's acomplished great things with servicable talent on the dline and a great secondary. Gruden said its a young legion of boom. And they are good, but they still need help in the trenches on both sides of the ball. 4 of 5 starters are out on the Oline, our LT is a rookie from Yale who was great at blocking accountants and lawyers. Looked like ass against NFL players. Multiple players have made little jabs at coaching so far this year. I don't care if we win 10 games Flus has to go. Side note, Bill Murry was placed on IR. I was rooting for him specifically becuse he's Bill Murry.
The fact is that Williams only played well when Chicago had to go on 4 downs which makes life harder for the Washington defence but when he was working on 3 downs he was worse than average
@@AzzieHalla I agree you'll win more than 2. But you've got a far better shot at picking off the Packers twice then beating the Vikings. Their team looks taylor built to spit you. You played like true dogshit today.
