That was like when he got sacked against the Vikes and he got up and said "who hit me" a couple times and when he found out who it was he said something like 'What's the matter- you can hit harder than that''.
only guy I can think of would be Brady because he was literally the player that nobody wanted, and the only reason he had a chance is cause new England opened up a 4th QB spot just in case they needed a guy to make a few passes. guy never gave up though, he wanted it that badly
@@hammerlane3871 no the Pats kept him cause they saw he had something and didnt want anyone else to see it they knew 100% he was never going to throw a pass that first year no matter what. Belichick talked about it he just didnt want to risk putting him on the taxi squad where someone might grab him. I must say the Falcons and Glanville did see something noone else did in Favres arm explaining why he made clear he was never going to play but put him out there to throw the ball before the game...turned a 2nd round pick into a 1st too bad it backfired.
@@darrenkastl8160you'd better check the stats bro. They're better than Michael Irvin's and he played a little more than half as long as Irvin. In fact, for 6 years, he was the most dominant receiver not named Rice.
Shannon’s brother needs to be in the the hall of fame 9,000 reception yards in 7 seasons as a Packer Led the league in receptions reception yards and touchdowns in 1992
Ive been a Bears fan most of my life. Favre for me was impossible to hate, even when I tried. He exemplified everything I want to see in a QB. The leadership, style, charisma, the humility, The sense of humor, the accountability, the arm strength, the durability and courage. He absolutely dominated the Chicago Bears for most of his time in the league. His replacement is the total opposite of a lot of the things that made Favre so great, and he is really easy to hate.
I feel the same only as a Viking fan. But we got to enjoy him in purple for a few years. And it may be a couple of his years ever. As for those Rogers fans, he did fine while in GB, but time will tell how or if he finishes his career. Rogers was good, but no Farve.
Got to love a guy that likes running bulldozers and heavy equipment in his spare time. I always liked how he kept to his rural roots, a 'good ol' boy' in the truest sense. The NFL was fun to watch when he played-and he got the stuffing knocked out of him during his career in a time referees didn't protect QB's.
Wow, great documentary. That scene getting quizzed in the film room was insane. The pressure and detail required to be one of the best well.. it just came natural to Brett. He is special for sure.
I fully believe had Holmgren stayed in Green Bay we would have had another 2-3 Super Bowl wins with Favre. It sucks, Holmgren was the perfect pairing with Favre. Holmgren might have had to sacrifice a bit of hair and color in his hair, but I'd imagine that'd be worthwhile for a couple of rings.
Brett Farve was a true football player! He'd give 110% and have fun doing it. When you have a quarterback that didn't think of himself invaluable he'd throw a block for his running back. He did everything with his ability to win the game. You will never see another quarterback in the NFL that played with as much passion as Farve! Truly one of the greats in the Hall of Fame!
How irresponsible of Glanville not to know anything about a draft pick @ 7:12 who exhibits resilience and character like that. Instead he makes him a side-show and a mockery of his talent. That reveals a lot about the man and the coach = 63-73 (NFL); 9-24 (College) and now D Coordinator in the XFL. Meanwhile, Favre and Holmgren @ 13:19.
I remember an early game for Favre. The game was in Milwaukee. At that time , half the games or so were played there the rest in Green Bay. Farve actually threw the ball away instead of throwing some ill advised pass. He got a standing ovation and that was when he turned things around for himself and GB.
if favre hadnt been so good at passing, he couldve easily ushered in the mobile QB era.. that guy stayed scrambling no matter how many huge gaps he could easily get through and outrun ppl, he would always throw it anyways..
@@sneekerpimpNZ Yeah, that's the aspect they've underachieved in, but it's still fun having a team that at least typically goes to the playoffs & has a shot at winning at all for over 2 decades, as opposed to a team that hasn't had an elite franchise quarterback for over 2 decades & only rarely makes the playoffs, if at all.
My dad was a big Brett Favre fan. I was really young when he played and Ive watched a lot of highlights of him. He was exciting, the decision of a gunslinger he had amazing great plays and amazing blunders, intercepts at the most awful times. But that’s what made Brett great, he wasn’t afraid to try anything. Mike knew how to coach him, he limited the interceptions at times, he won three straight MVP’s won a Super Bowl. One of the greatest qb’s to ever play in the National Football League. Had all quarterback stats when he retired, wins, yards touchdowns.
I love the players that treat it like what it is: a really fun game! It kinda says something when so many of the greats approached it like that, be it in varying degrees of course :)
@@sophiawilliams8650 exactly, farve’s all out I got the best damn arm in the world gunslinger mentality with a hint of Rodgers IMMACULATE awareness and accuracy .. Honestly he is Rodgers with a coach that is 100 percent invested in him
Darn, I was hoping this documentary would have included one play I saw when Favre came up to the line on 4th and short and tried to do a hard count to draw an off sides. But the whole defensive line didn't fall for it and half of them were saying, "Don't move! don't move!!!" and all Brett could do was smile and take a time out.
I recently saw a game from Favre’s rookie year ( vs Saints I’m 75% sure ) here on RU-vid where Favre got a short run in a reg season game w/ The Falcons. He was very green & didn’t look too good , but that’s to be expected esp in the early 90s where the Defensive game wasn’t nearly as sanitized in favor of the offense.
Or if his career began in let’s say the year 2000? He would probably be able to play until he’s 50. I doubt he’d have half the injuries that he played through. 297 consecutive regular season starts and he took a beating. It’s not like he stood there and never got touched like some other QBs today.
At 13:20, for you of those who have never seen that device, that is an overhead projector (3M company) and that is what was used in school in the 70's. I can't believe it was used by an NFL team in 1997. I forgot all about those.
31:39 LOL...can you imagine a father playing like that with his kids today and having it filmed? I remember my dad would horse around with us like that back way back when, but he'd be fired from his job and thrown in prison now if that were captured on a phone and someone saw it. If you're not putting your little boys in dresses and painting their nails for them now, it's child abuse.
I dated your cousins wife Karen when I was 16. I was a skateboarder from Gainesville. I made the Florida Skateboard Hall of Fame. Karen and Lori helped me a lit and fed me. I was damn near homeless. Karen and her famywete awesome. Im happy to see she married into your family. Lived wating you play Brett. Miss watching you still.
F Reid lol Cry baby Brady has two superbowls against him. Thanks Andy! In seriousness though he has always been a great coach even when he didn’t have great QBs. Took the eagles to 4 straight NFC championship games and a SB and obviously finally won one as a head coach in KC and went to back to back ones. 232-135-1. 23 seasons as a head coach and only 4 seasons with a QB who had more than 30 TD passes. Only 3 losing seasons. Incredible amount of success. He doesn’t get enough credit
A popular Packers writer said the Packers really underachieved. They really did in Favre’s time. He has 3 straight shots. 95, they’re leading into the 4th Quarter in Dallas. Then he throws a pick in the red zone and costs them the game. 97, they were good enough to beat the Broncos. Favre is the MVP, Antonio Freeman has his breakout season. They have a great O-Line and the defense is still crazy powerful. But they were CRAZY overconfident. Bob Harlen (the president of the team) was shocked that when they came out for halftime, they had so spark, life, whatever you want to call it. They were flat and they played that way. If they played their best, they would have won that game. This is probably the big game that keeps the head coach Mike Holmgren out of the HOF. He didn’t adjust to the Broncos and just kept throwing even tho Denver was playing to stop Favre. They were just crowding the line of scrimmage daring Favre to throw and they just kept throwing. Why didn’t they run? It’s not like they couldn’t. Their RB Dorsey Levens rushed for over 1400 yards. It’s really disappointing how much they underachieved.
Get a shipment of the day and I will be there at least for the next few days and I have to go to the store and get my car back drove by and get me a man of your nap and I don't know if you are you going with me
He's one of the reasons why I am the packer fan today greatest quarterback ever walked on the field he was a big kid on the field never worried about money or cared about money just wanted to play football not like a lot of players nowadays 😅
Woah how much is Mahomes II like Brett, the humour, unorthodox throws and makes his best plays out of the pocket, Pat must have watched a lot of Green Bay games growing up.
Great player. I had a girlfriend who loved this guy. I told her that if she ever had the chance, she could have him. She had my blessings. She thought that it would only be fair if she allowed me to do the same with the girl of my dreams. I agreed. She asked me who it would be so we could seal the deal. Jennifer Aniston? Sandra Bullock? Nope. I pointed at the girl across the street. We're not together anymore.
