That'll only happen if the FIA implement a rule that absolutely destroys Red Bull. ... And it's not a hard one, either. Just set a maximum rake height. We've seen before what happens when you lower Red Bull's rake; they struggle. Look at 2015. 1 podium all season - and it wasn't even a win.

@@BiggieTrismegistus Problem is that this is already a carry over from last year where the Red Bulls ended up being dominant... despite promise early on from Ferrari. @halofreak1990
@halofreak1990 Год назад
@@greatsageclok-roo9013 eh? Have you been watching the same F1 since 2022? Red Bull's has the lowest ride heights of all cars out there. Rake doesn't exist with ground effect cars, because it nerfs your downforce. And, in fact, when the Red Bull was ran higher than normal in last year's Belgian GP, it was even more dominant than earlier in the season, allowing Max to win the race by a similar margin as last weekend, except he started last year's race from **P14** Really, you can't nerf this ground effect Red Bull without destroying the competition along with it.

The Sainz-Piastri collision on L1T1 reminds me of the exactly similar accident max had with Kimi a few years ago. There they had no question that Max was in the wrong, as that portion of the corner will always close in that way, due to how the cars go through the corner. Also similar to Hamilton on Albon in Brazil, Lewis stuck a nose into a gap that never really existed, same thing with Piastri.
@yourDecisi0n
@yourDecisi0n Год назад
Well yes, but Sainz came from the far left side towards the far right side of the track while under braking, which then put him right into the path of Piastri. Reminds me more of that Grosjean on fire incident where Grosjean cut across the whole track
@simo_viewer_pr9030
@simo_viewer_pr9030 Год назад
That was a bit Piastri's fault, a bit Sainz's fault, and also a bit Hamilton's fault. If you see it from Oscar's onboard it seems like Sainz fully turned into him, but when you look at his POV he had nowhere else to go, because of Hamilton on his outside. It was a classic racing incident, no one deserved a penalty.

@@simo_viewer_pr9030 When I look at Sainz' onboard, I see, he has quite a bit of space towards Hamilton, but chooses to force Piastri off into the wall. There is still at least half a meter space before and during the corner on his left

If Sainz kept his line Piastri would have been fine so it’s 100% Sainz’ fault. He was lucky he got away with no penalty. He locked up and had to take avoiding action due to his own mistake. I can’t see how it’s any different from Zhou last week or Russell-Sainz at COTA (which btw was more of a racing incident because Sainz stupidly tried to cut back on lap 1)

Potential idea for the DRS aspects. Not sure how well it would go over but F1 could potential take a Indycar concept with limited push to pass usage for DRS. Each driver would be given the same amount of time to utilize DRS via a push to pass aspect. DRS still limited to certain zones/FIA approving DRS usage due to weather. But, it would give drivers a chance to defend with DRS as much as utilizing to try and pass.
