Honestly im really excited for the new progression system, that is if they actually overhaul it, i was never a fan on reforging, i always thought that it was just a lazy way to keep players engaged for longer, although its not too bad, i think the worst change they ever made was when they overhauled the weapon/armor progression. Before you had to actively upgrade your gear multiple times and go out to collect the resources necessary and I loved watching my power and defense slowly rise, it was rewarding in a sense, but when they changed it to the lame one-time upgrade and then its maxed out, gear just completely lost all its value to me. I really hope that these mechanics get overhalled and bring something refreshing, after 240hours i definitely would love a change
Eh, I’ve been playing since 2019 and I really hate the majority of changes. They made it feel more competitive and I don’t mind the grind, I actually love grinding in general, but it’s exhausting and can be overwhelming to new players. When I first started everything was different. And it was still fun and engaging. Now it’s not really fun, and feels like I constantly change gears when it wasn’t like that back then. Also not a real big fan on those dyes. Back the. They dropped when killing behemoths. Now you gotta collect certain parts, finish challenges, etc for one dye. I still enjoy playing it, but I wouldn’t say it feels the same
Come back trevor, we need you. At least pop back in for the huge summer update. The bow is gunna be lit and the new build making stuff will confuse the poor little nooblets! Return to us!
Hahaha "New hunt experience - combining the clarity of old Pursuit hunts and the dynamic appeal of open worlds" So we get back the great old hunts where you actually had to track down behemoths as a new experience :D I wonder when they would re-use they original idea of having a ship of your own that you can upgrade and use to travel around :)
Fae Farm (Phoenix Labs' latest project) just released a week or so ago (at time of writing). We've probably got a couple weeks of bug-fixing and patching being the focus of the entire studio before they probably split 50/50 internally on focusing between FF and Dauntless. So if this overhaul is as big as they're saying it'll be, getting started now is perfect. Plus they have video of weapon swap stuff on the website, so even if its BEYOND early access, its still at the very least possible.
Man, I just got back into Dauntless and I found your channel. I dig it. I hope the update is good enough to bring you back. I do want to push back a little on the idea of a sequel, though, because we've seen games relaunch within their current iteration and be successful. FFXIV: A Realm Reborn comes to mind. Also everything No Man's Sky did. Anyway, I'm gonna soft-sub and see if you come back next Summer.
How’s it going trails, you probably don’t remember me but I’m a fan from 1-2 years ago. I stop playing dauntless a while ago, and today i redownloaded the game today and decided to check in.
Good to see ya again I look at the pokemon channel from time to time. Dont think it's enough to get me back into dauntless, looking forward to your future content.
i disagree with dauntless 2 concept.. if they can update they should keep it up. polishing a old concept into a completely new one has been done on multiplayer games across various genre like guild wars 2 , warframe ,dota 2 and planetside 2 worked fine for game studios, i believe your view point comes from being a streamer, none the less i enjoy your dauntless speed runs , thanks for the video
oh, who would have guessed that resetting players progression over and over to get 1% strength increase is a bad progression mechanics? These guys are genious... Stupidity killed this game
Tbh i am afraid. I have been playing since day one and i still remember the cores for forging and upgrading weapons. If that system where to come back i am just quitting
I can see what he means about just make a second game but the first thing that comes to mind is if they fumble the ball and pull a blizzard then it's just going to be an updated version of dauntless meaning an entire second game would be pointless. Now if they're going to overhaul everything and change every single aspect of the game to still have its core design be there but more in line with other games monster killing games then yeah dauntless two should be a thing.
Sooooo basically the games gonna be slowly die for a whole year meaning i can uninstall it till then. Cause currently theres nothing worth my time that ive not done besides go for the heroic crowns which is tedious to do. Ive been on and off the game waiting for another decent update for a while now. Like dont get me wrong i love dauntless but the devs idk like they care but behind the season wtf is going on. Its been what 2 years or more since a new weapon? Since june 2022 weve gotten basically a new mode thats hardly played aka gauntlet and a heroic escalation which judging by queue times is also hardly played. Like i get quality over quantity but a whole YEAR to add something actually new to the game that has any value to the games life? Wack
Dauntless has so many untouched potential where the CAPCON's monster hunter franchise is lagging on. The customization of weapons and armour, the unique monsters that resemble actual animals which help in the lore of the game and the games lore is there where as monster hunter franchise has not alot of lore such as, where are we?, why are we hunting the monsters?, how did they (the monsters and people) and the world come around?. Dauntless shows that an global incident has split the world into pieces, a substance called aether has come to the world because of the incident and any animal or creature comes in contact with a very large amount of it becomes a behemoth and the behemoth sucks up the aether, destroying the shatterlies and killing anything in its way. While as monster hunter is pretty much kill, kill, kill but Monster Hunter World did explain why we needed to hunt them and understanding the balance in the first place (but that was all thrown out the window with later games). What Dauntless needs to do first is to keep us entertained by expanding on the lore with lore related missions and on those missions when you see that one behemoth for the first time, make a cutscene to grab our attention. Second is to bring out a new behemoth and weapon every year or so we can have more fun with a new type of weapon and behemoth. Third, bring us our own houses and pets, I hate the idea being a slayer with no home to relax in after a hunt. That is all I got to say for now
Weird to say Capcoms Monster Hunter is lagging on. Its far superior and better to anything else that has tried to come close. How? Because all of those games including Dauntless are dead.
Dauntless should add PvP with another faction and make gamers pick a side. I also think that it would add a whole new way of playing with different weapon combinations. Please add PvPvE or something I want to test my abilities in a group fight like 5v5 or a war that breaks out and have certain behemoths as mounts and companions we could use in battle or around free roam
@@fire4036 and if somehow a axe or a hammer got a hit they would KO in a second, PvP for weapons that have so different uses and far different dmg output is not good, and combine that with lanterns and omnicells, yeah I don't want a PvP 😐 Edit 1: My grammar sucks ass
You need to comeback youre the only i started playing the game and i finaaly came back to it and i tried cheking if you made any videos on it and when i saw that you didnt have any videos on dauntles i got really sad so please just try making one video on it
I think dauntless 2 would fail miserably because nobody wants to to the same thing over and over again, again. Like most games the ones following after the first one usually fails because it will never be the same. I get what you mean to attract attention, I just don't think thats the right kind attention.
But then u would lose all the stuff u bought so then people would get mad cause it would be a totally dif game especially for those people who spend a lot on it.
Probably to avoid what got the game into this state in the first place. Setting strict deadlines to release one big piece of content each month, updating the game every 2 weeks with at least bug fixes. They went for a quantity over quality update approach, and it just drove people away because the new content that was being created always had a ton of bugs when it launched. A large, meaningful update will do a lot more to bring people back to the game, and potentially make them stay, than drip feeding the content would.
since they're changing so much systems in the game, it would save a lot of time to build all the new systems around each other rather than to build them around the current systems and then have to rebuild them again as they build the other new systems yknow?
Dauntless has no future. The new refresh is going to work exactly the same way reforge did. At this point they should just take the game off its life support.
