lot of red tape, I believe he has some ground to request this. The BBC comparison is not apples to apples with this. The contract and agreement after parting didnt make Jirard completly in control of what happeneed prior to them splitting ways....so if money can be made on anything with him in it he has the right to ask for that or ask to take it down. If anything Jirard can sue his legal team I assume he was advised during the split for not adequitly preparing him for something like his happening. That does happen all the time.

Sirhc7000 I think you hit the nail on the head. It feels to me like Jirard doesn't see the point in making this a legal battle, especially since it would be a drain on time, money, and energy that could be better served elsewhere.

The issue is, is that if jirard fights this, he will just keep digging his fangs in and causing unnecessary drama trying to drag jirard through the mud. If Jirard basically erases him from the show, he has nothing now. He will go back to being nothing.

I actually only found Jirard and TOVG about 8 months ago. I thought I had a good idea of what a quality gaming RU-vid channel was. I was wrong. His content is so much more involved, useful, and interesting than many others. There are other YTers throwing fits right now about their workload and they are turning into reaction channels that are losing views and subs. It's ironic that the dude that already puts in more work than them is actually expanding. It says a lot and I hope this channel continues to grow to 1m and 2m+. He deserves it more than most. My goto channels are now ACG and TOVG. ACG has more technical details and covers more games in a review format. Jirard kills it and when you leave the video you know about the best parts and the worst parts of a game that many reviewers do not show or do not find. I 100% support him and will start contributing on Patreon as he puts that money to good use.

Girard came to me asking if it was okay if he could use the completionist name. I had no problems saying yes to him. My channel is simply a hobby and while I still show people how to complete games to 100% when I have free time. I can't upload as much because I work a job that requires a lot of working away from home. Me and Girard have a lot of mutual respect for each other and I try my best not to ride his coattails. His channel is his hobby/business/job and my channel is simply a hobby. I got nothing but respect and admiration for what he does with his channel.

He also wanted to have a whole network of different stuff, like That One Video Gamer, That One Movie Critic, That One _________, etc.

Not only does it seem to be this is part of his healing process, which I can respect, I don't blame Jirard for not wanting to chance his former friend's pettiness. RU-vid still has that three strike policy and if his friend decides to contest this and file DMCA's then that means that there's a very real chance of this channel being temporarily taken down while the system works. That's at least a month or two of entirely lost revenue which no creator can afford right now.

It also why Jirard is seeing more Twitch time; better pay, and helps rebuild with more community outreach. Legally, Jirard would likely win, but the risks are too great, and by doing this, Jirard now wholly owns anything going forward.
