@@ALLMINDmercenarysupportsystem Not "just a rumor". This one came from Tom Warren, who has been a very reliable source of information. He also said it like it was pretty much a fact
Yes, the elite intro! I forgot how sick it was. Seeing the flood and Endless interact, seeing their connections, history and relationship to the forerunners is just the logical next step while also scratching an itch the Halo playerbase has wanted done for many years.
I think the Flood and Endless are 2 sides of the same coin. The Harbinger repeats phrases said by the Gravemind and Primordial more than once. I strongly think the Endless are Precursors who reincarnated without corruption like the Flood. So they may not be directly related to the Flood they probably already know of them and the Primordial who formed them.
Yeah, I've watched these videos during the lead up to infinite. For years halotubers said the flood would return, cortana would have logic plague and that it would be epic. I was really disappointed but it taught me a lesson. Don't get hyped. Don't listen to what people online say. More often that not for halo, theory's will never end up being true because 343 is so tunneled visioned on what Microsoft wants for halo and not what makes halo great. There will be no flood, No duel welding, no playable elites, no scarabs, no large scale battles, no M rating. it will always be the same stuff. over and over. Because these people cannot look past statistics. They only care about whatever seems like the best choice to make money not what halo fans actually want. there is no hope for halo within the hands of microsoft. Halo was only ever good under bungie because bungie pushed back on everything microsoft tried to do to it. The only good halo content we will get is from mods.
@@jurassicarkjordanisgreat1778I’ll see what the new management plans in the future, but you right. Most likely than not we’ll be on mcc pc mods fir the rest of our lives
@@fearmasterm.m.z7139 Not really. A game creator can .ake a game that they KNOW will be M rates, or tone it back to make it T rated by removing most blood and gore like Halo Infinite and 5.
@@thatoneguyyouthinkshouldbe2431to be fair Joseph Staten was impressed by it because an open world halo game is what is what halo CR was supposed to be
I'm just desperate for the universe to move forward, I feel like Halo 5 onward, novels included, we're just stuck in this created conflict era and I'm so sick of it. The flood coming back would definitely be a story rich era.
Stuck in it? Halo infinite was the end of it. I'd want to see some more novels on what did things look like during the Created's 18-month reign. Or at the very least, expand upon what we already know.
Nah, we need to move forward not revisit the past. Halo 3 was an epic conclusion to the flood story. Lets leave well enough alone. Yes the Didact story arc was crap but there is a decent chance of making the Endless a really good story given they survived the firing of the array.
If halo 1 remake isn't just a remaster then we should get to play as Sgt. Johnson. Imagine getting to fight alongside Keyes when they first encounter the flood and being able to see how Johnson escaped the ring.
A Sgt. Johnson flood mission should only be unlocked after completing the regular 343 Guilty Spark, as it would ruin the flood reveal for newer players
With obligatory "escaping flood infected ship or city" mission where you play as a ODST or some other non-OP individual, whether human or covenant. Though there has to be a mission where you get to play as the flood because like, basic marketing 101, I'm sure almost everyone would want a chance to play as the flood even if for a single mission.
The problem is that 343 don't know how to handle the Flood in game. They can't even do the Forerunners well. They hired Writers to write them interesting lore, but they do nothing interesting with it in the games.
Here's a real question, are we really supposed to either believe or care about what 343/Microsoft does? it'd take a miracle to bring this franchise back
I legit dont get the insistence on getting the T for Teen rating. What does it do for them? I promise it cant be because 343 is really shooting for that demographic, because Halo is the singular most Boomer Shooter in active development at this point. CoD kept its releases so "modern" and annually it still manages to keep the newer generations, and same-ish enough with Battlefield to a much lesser extent, but Halo? Nah man, most people playing this game have to be 20-30 somethings, with no hope of ever attracting the young "mothers credit card" demographic.
@@kalebeatsfloordboards9866 except I didn't because they make zero actual effort to make game design choices people in the T for Teen demograph expect from games these days. Halo Infinite has the least modernized tiktok-ified gameplay of any mainline 343 title, grappling hook notwithstanding. Even Halo 4 does a better job of appealing to the younger demographic. Infinite was marketed purely on nostalgia bait, it wasn't a game made with toddlers in mind, so going for the Teen rating makes no sense to do if they aren't going to design a game to appeal to them with
Because 343 and microsoft don't realize that kids still play m rated games. They don't care to know this. They have proven to be out of touch. All they care about is following trends. They only care about money and in that goal they blind themselves to what makes halo successful. The younger generations don't like halo because halo is not algorithm monkey slop and microsoft refuses to properly milk the franchise. Sure cod has a retaining playerbase but its full of people who don't even care about the universe or games. They just play it just because its a dopamine booster, They don't think when they play it or bother to care about whats going on. COD is not in a good state either, its slop. Sure its successful. But everyone dislikes it still. It will never reach the same peaks of BO2. Would you rather have a bad game series where people can admit its bad or a bad game series were everyone pretends its good? Because the younger generation love mobile game slop, thats how microtransactions have been so normalized because they grew up with it and think its normal. Halo doesn't have to be good for them to like. If halo infinite got content updates more and had bigger content creators paid to shill for it. You can bet it would still be doing well to this day. it just has to do whatever slop appeals to them or have legions of big content creators being paid to praise it because the younger generations just listen to whatever the content creators say.
It's such a shame too, because whoever did the Flood in CEA, 2A, Spartan Assault, and Halo Wars 2 really nailed the gross factor of the Flood. So here's hoping they make a return.
@@jurassicarkjordanisgreat1778 I think it was orange and boily moreso due to a mechanics reason, you want the players to be capable of telling where the flood is at, rather than leave it to reckless abandon
All they need to make a perfect halo game is 1.Master chief as the main character. 2.Good story. 3.Playable elites/arbiters return. 4.Assassinations. 5.Flood. Boom. Perfect halo game.
Sounds like the bare minimum expectations for Halo 7. Actually, they were the bare minimum expectations that we had set for Infinite, but Infinite only had Master Chief so...
@@kalebeatsfloordboards9866 Perhaps but it's not been Generic since Halo 3 and 2 had all of what was listed except for assassinations and Halo 3 having a lacking story compared to 2 it's not so generic since it's been way to long since we have had any of this in years so it would be refreshing to return to form for once and still have modern elements so that it doesn't feel like a 2007 game but still have the same feeling. Infinite was close with that but didn't hit the mark and Halo 4 and Halo 5 was... Yeah anyways moving on! I'm just saying it's hard to call these ideas generic for a Modern halo game when we only seen this stuff in like a few games? ._. @jpmountaingaming5681 is right and it really would be nice to have these elements of Halo return but with everything becoming more of company worried about how much money the other one has then actually worried about a good story. Thank you for bring back the intro, I loved it, I didn’t like how the intro didn’t return for quite sometime, but I’m glad it is back, with the silent shadow elite with his dual blade red energy sword.
Honestly I don't believe a Halo 1 remake is actually in the works. For one, it's a rumor. 2, it would be a mistake. 343 has proven they can't make Halo like Bungie. It would only further tarnish the brand. You know they would royally screw it up. I've been playing Halo since the day it released back in 2001. I've been a super fan ever since. For the sake of the franchise, i hope this rumor stays just that... a rumor.
It makes no sense. They already done CE:A, Ported it to MCC, Spent years giving content to the MCC CE remaster making all these custom skins and updates. Only to leave it and do it all over again? Its also a rumor made by a known xbox shill who has made fake leaks in the past to drum up hype and it only ever blew up. because people are so desperate for new halo content. It makes no sense for 343 to do a CE remake. Why? so they can replace everything with reach assets once again and disregard CEs art style? So they can insert unneeded additions to CE? why would 343 even care to do this? They are scared of an M rating, They are gonna mess this up if it is true.
I was thinking this, doing a remake of halo 1 would be stupid, as their is the anniversary version, and story of halo 1 cannot be twisted. if they do a remake, yeah its gonna be cool, but then again, why would you do one??
@@Axose17because Halo 1 is in the way of their Endless squid alien and how that thing alludes to the Flood by quoting the Gravemind. A complete rewrite of Halo CE therefore removing Bungie’s legacy by rewritting the very first Halo game. 343 already retconned Forerunners not being humans, now it’s the Flood by explaning that those zombies came from Precursor powder that failed to reform? Sounds stupid to me.
Over the years I have watched every video that you made about The Flood, The Precursors final test for the Mantle, and I always love them cause it makes sense. Like everything that exists within the Bungie era and the 343 era of Halo, it was made to fill in the gaps that left all of us players still asking questions. Besides, the Gravemind himself, has stated that will return regardless of any defeat that suffer. The victory for the Forerunners and the allies at the end of the Human-Covenant War were major victories against the Flood, but to quote the Gravemind, "Resignation is my virtue; like water I ebb, and flow. Defeat is simply the addition of time... to a sentence I never deserved... but you imposed." Regardless of what defeat the Flood suffer, they will always be the Precursors Final Test for the Mantle of Responsibility.
@@volrogue sorry mate it is a disaster. The level design is atrocius , absolutely no reason to replay . Random rooms with ammos dont make for a good level design, open world was lacklustre.
Then in Halo 8 it’s revealed Chief is alive and the weapon sacrifices herself for The Weapon 2.0 and Chief learns to trust her as they fight The Covenant 2
The flood has so much potential even outside the main story. They could make one or more horror spinoffs whether it's during the outbreak during the original trilogy, or a new/not known to lore outbreak, they could use it for a base builder style game, or reverse horror of the playing the floods during their takeover of the Galaxy before the firing of the rings, or of high charity even. Make it a team based shooter, with one side playing flood, and the other(s) playing covenant and or human fighting them off. But instead they have been barely touched since 3 released.
and these are just bottom of the barrel ideas that I am barely able to articulate here, I could write a whole page worth of ideas like this before even fleshing said ideas out, and I'm just some guy! Meanwhile a million dollar company is driving the game series that sold game consoles into the dirt with poor writing, and subpar gameplay.
They could even do the ultimate prequel set before the firing of the rings. Ever since I saw Halo Legends, I WANTED Halo to get a prequel during the forerunner/flood war
@@JamesTDG That would be so much work in terms of lore and designs of the settings and weapons and all that stuff. Would be very cool if they pulled it off but I guess nowadays were are scared when a company tries to be ambitious because they will probably screw it up... but playing it safe also results in bland games that will make half the internet angry as well.
That intro is super ICONIC also so is the flood with the OG flood boi! I really do hope like you said in the video that the flood will be developed and expanded upon just a little bit in the right way for the Halo CE remake, all halo fans will be kicking and screaming for the flood to make a comeback in Halo 7! I'm praying and crossing my fingers that whoever is developing the Halo CE remake will blow it out of the water!
I wanna play a game where I can play AS the flood. Like an RTS game where you have to take over a galaxy starting as an infection form. It could start off as an FPS and once you collect enough mass to make a keymind/gravemind it can switch to RTS since that’s how they work in the lore. And it would be cool if there’s specific missions/ key points that you actually have to play in FPS mode to take a difficult objective, or make it to where you can switch back and forth between RTS and FPS.
I kinda wish this guy would just apply for the role of cannon/story writing for the franchise. I mean come on, he's got all the knowledge, loves the brand despite its shortcomings, and hears what the people want. Just an idea. 👌👌
Just thought of something, you mentioned there a big chunk of Zeta Halo missing in Infinite. What if that is where the Flood outbreak happened, and it was ‘removed’ to contain the outbreak. That would mean there’s a big chunk of Halo teeming with flood just drifting through space, begging to be investigated by some rogue spacecraft and/or crash into a planet.
Remember the flood infection forms in HALO 4 MULTIPLAYER? The infection game type in HALO 4, the flood did not look like the Flood Bungie made and it’s so bad that HiddenXperia forgot they existed! As long as they don’t look like that I’m game.
I want to see the weapon and John’s dialogue about the flood. I also really want Rtas involved given his unique understanding of how dangerous the parasite is. The banished and the UNSC consistently treat them with arrogance and incompetence.
There is NO QUESTION that the flood should return. 343 sort of teased this when they made the 'Saturn devouring his son' story, and I hope they follow through with it. It would also be cool as heck if 343 made a flood horror game! I mean, imagine fighting through a flood outbreak as a marine or ODST, or even a spartan three in SPI armor...
I always found the underground sections of a Halo ring fascinating to me. How deep is the underground? What lays at the very bottom of a Halo ring? Sometimes, you see these cliffs that lead into an endless dark abyss, but we know it's not endless. There is a bottom. What's down there?
If a CE remake isn't a 1:1 faithful remake with the original aesthetic design and instead looks like Reach again or something else, I'm gonna be pissed.
I think it’d be super cool if the endless, in an effort to make them even more intimidating and powerful, just took control of the flood and like had chained graveminds that they control or something and essentially have the flood as their army with the endless being the highest ranking enemies in the faction and being essentially the “brutes” or “elites” of the precursor faction while the flood are treated as grunts, jackals, drones, etc. (treated like that narratively, not game design wise)
Can you imagine if we get a flood novel. And in the novel the flood elvove to have multiple lesser independent graveminds kind of like the Zerg from Starcraft, and we get more named characters for them
I myself like the idea of the Endless releasing the Flood on humanity on purpose as a way to soften them up. Honestly, that is a slam dunk and a half. You wanna bring the Flood back in a way that isn’t super fan service-y and is somewhat relevant to the plot? Here ya go! Just think of it as what Sesa was trying to do to Arbiter and Rtas in H2 but on a MUCH larger scale. We know the Endless are immune to the Rings (wether because they’re Precursors or don’t have a normal nervous system is still up for debate) and by extension that would imply they’re immune to the Flood as well. Because the Flood spread their infection by attacking the nervous system and the Rings kill life by destroying said nervous system. Now, whether or not the Flood will still attempt to attack the Endless just because I think is also up for debate. BUT this also brings up a conundrum, why would the Endless release the Flood on purpose when they could just activate one of the Rings? They’re effectively immune to both and safe to say one of those options will result in less casualties on their side. But immediate counter argument to that, it’s very likely Chief and the Weapon know of their immunity and will try to inform UNSC leadership to devise a plan to shut down, damage, or destroy any of the Halo’s that could fall into the Endless’ hands. So releasing the Flood could just be a “Plan B” for the Endless if the Halo’s don’t pan out in their favor. And here’s potentially the best part of this idea, when Atriox and the Banished find out about the Endless’ intention to activate the Rings and/or weaponize the Flood they’ll go “Whoa whoa whoa, what the hell are you doing?! Are you crazy?! This wasn’t part of the plan!” and will likely turn on each other. We could possibly get huge four way battles in the next game between UNSC, Banished, Flood, and Endless (not factoring in Arbiter’s forces and Sentinels), that sounds heavenly for gameplay fanatics such as myself.
Hey HiddenXperia could you imagine if they did the sequel trilogy based on surviving the flood? Gravemind sent covenant ships across the universe infecting everything and covenant races and humans join forces to survive.
Man, I missed that intro. Good times. Whilst I'd love to see the Flood again, if 343 is at the helm yet again, I'm just not interested. I just know they'll fuck them up inevitably. (although they're really good at designing how they look, based on Infinite's Flood themed stuff for MP) If they opt for a spin-off horror focused game done by competent devs however? Absolutely, I'll give it a chance. I think we're long overdue for something like that anyhow. If only Microsoft and 343 would realise that...
I feel like the flood will reapear and the only thing justifying it is the weapon saying "somehow the flood returned " just like Disney did with Palpatine
Well, in their defense, that's exactly what would happen. Palpatine didn't make any sense. The flood returning? They were always just waiting for some idiots to break their cells so they can continue their work.
Great video! And about the halo universe being repeating, there was a lot of stuff that kind of eerily hints towards that in Despondant Pyre’s audio logs from the ring artifacts in Infinite if I recall. I feel like Escharum might have even touched on it “looping…repeating” but that might’ve been different context. Anyways, might be more fuel for you if you remake that video
I don't think Atriox would have ramed the Infinity into the ring if he knew flood could be released, I remember in Halo Wars how pissed he was that a couple of his guys released them by accident. It also seems like this ring has a different way of storing life in such a way that it can prevent an outbreak from happening.
o7 Elite intro My goodness that Mk V model by Sud looks great. I, really hope, I get to play a CE Remake either way. Classic games (Halo 1, Dark Souls 1, Destiny 1 etc) have always had such a special feeling, this would be such a blast. Especially seeing the Flood in Unreal Engine. I'm writing this before fully watching it because I saw the intro and wanted to comment. But, I see the returning of the Flood happening after something like the "wildlife" getting infected by spores after the Banished being haphazard with damaging the rings or the UNSC. I do really like the idea early on though, of power running out, completely unrelated to either side. We see a signal blip that could be dangerous, are told to investigate. We find this dark and damp area with "dust" all around, broken obelisks, spent rounds, scratch marks, but no bodies. Master chief is already weary, but then he begins seeing shadows suspicious on the walls. They continue down, the pathway lights getting dimmer and flickering more frequently. We come across a great room void of light, it might be a pit, it might be a room. We find something to emit enough light to keep investigating, while the shadows almost feel like they're staring at you, waiting. You find a light, bring it to the center, then suddenly... a proto-gravemind is fully visible in the center of a great room with banished and human gear lying all around. But the Flood keep coming so you can't take out the gravemind, and have to retreat. Time goes by and the Flood becomes massive. We then have to hijack a ship with the help of someone, and take their bomb, to the ring. My 50 cent idea for a Flood (DLC sized) story-line.
I like your theory about the infinite loop. It makes a lot of sense to me. The precursors were looking for worthy successors, testing species to see if they could pass their final trial, only to have failed time and time again repeatedly after following the same/similar processes. I would love to see how the trial unfolds even more in game in Halo 7 and beyond. Plus, a teamup of the Endless and the Flood sounds absolutely horrifying.
An idea I had to introduce them in Halo 7 I thought of when working was to have it build up like CE with corpses and blood everywhere, and Chief slowly realizes who could've caused it while the Weapon is confused. Eventually leading to a jump scare by a flood form and Chief is stuck in complete darkness aside from the kinda dim light on a shotgun he finds. Then you have to make your way through darkness with the shotgun whilst flood scream in the distance and your motion tracker is full of movement and flood forms jump out at you through the darkness. All of this would be randomized too so you can never expect when a flood form will be there.
Halo 1 remake as an opportunity to learn to use Unreal is a good idea. They can do pre-production on the new game, and learning the tools on a remake. Ideally they would remake all the other ones as well, to have a consistent look and keep people busy and new people learning
I went the return of flood ! Today, it's a good futur for them because they are in Halo CE Ramake, in Halo Infinite (With Halo Zeta and Endless because they are the children of precursors !!) and in Halo show tv Saison 2 and 3 (the UNSC is infected OMG). The flood and the precursors is most faction of Halo for me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥ Good job for this video 😎 (I am frensh men and fan of Halo)
There is 0 chance 343 is using the flood in a new mainline game OR spinoff, they ignored all flood related stuff in Zeta halo cause they know it would probably up the game's rating to M and that's a no no for them.
Would adding a few pure forms really hurt? Like I get the gruesome infection animations changing the rating but surely the flood itself isn't that horrific.
Yes, but if 343 make the flood in a similar fashion to H3, how Bungie adapted them over the years, they really won’t be an interesting enemy to fight at all. Too weak, crumbles so can’t come back to life to give you the jump scare. They’re going to have to make the flood even more formidable than they were in CE.
Any remake they do will probably be changed to fit their retconned lore about forerunners and humans, meaning some of the more cyptic scenes being just, kinda scrapped
Idea: the flood would slowly infest the ring and the player has to clear flood hives to push the flood back and you can see this on the map and the more flood hives there are the flood became stronger
Been watching the older Theories and i personally would love the concept of the colossal Galaxy or even multiple Galaxy sized Flood Force invading the Milky Way as the Precursors final test, also I just really really want to see a Keymind officially make its debut.
I remember your infinite loop video and it sounds like you were pretty spot on Also IF they nail the flood we need a more hardcore version of Devils Monsters...not demons and heretics
Halo CE remake being a testbed for Halo on the Unreal Engine is a perfect idea! 🙌🏻 Also, this’ll allow 343 to make the Flood look far more gnarly and disgusting with updated visuals and textures. Plus, I can only imagine what The Banished could look like on the Unreal Engine in Halo 7. Maybe we could finally have the proper look for The Banished that we had in Halo Wars 2. I mean, I like the fact that The Banished has multiple clans and legions within the organization, each with their own design aesthetics as seen with Escharum’s boys in Halo Infinite, but I do miss Atriox’s Legion (the Installation 00 attack force that’s now under the command of Let’ Volir).
If they do Remake it, I hope we'd also get stages as Supreme Commander Thel 'Vadam as he tries to get rid of the Prophet that's been anal about preserving the things on the Halo
What if the endless, seemingly immune to the flood, release and try to control it so they can become the dominant power in the galaxy. This could be why Cortana says they are worse than the flood. But if a gravemind were to appear, they would be infected via logic plague.
That’s probably what the new terminals will be about. Since the anniversary ones were to hype up halo 4, it makes sense that the remake would hype halo 7
The flood is an opportunist, what if they manipulate The Endless into jumpstarting an outbreak, like when the flood helped Master Chief and the Arbiter stop the halo rings from being fired on the Ark.
So you’ve been talking a lot about the future of the halo universe, however I’ve got a question about the past. Dinosaurs. Where do dinosaurs fit in? Did the precursors create them? Are there alien equivalents? Were there space faring species in the universe at the time? (Excluding the precursors)
If they do end up bringing back the flood even in a remake halo CE they should not change what the flood originally it look like including the original Green glowing bits because it would be really nice for them to keep that as a consistent thing throughout Halo
I have zero faith in 343. After the massove fumble of Inifinte that hope is completely gone. The flood arent going to return and i wouldnt be surprised if they dont even show up in the remake, or are massively downplayed so they can make excuses to never bring them back up in further halo games. They had every opportunity to bring them back in infinite yet they briught back a entirely new and never before mentioned species, and when you look at that they are supposed to be the new version of the flood, they even say in game that theyre worst than the flood. Microsoft and 343 desperately want to keep halo rated T for a wider audience and its just time to let go of that hope. 343 still sucks, they still hire contractors, they still actively work with and hire people who; at best dont know anything about halo or at worst hate the series.
